NEW PICTURES AND INFO ADDED 8/27 Only year for unique front end design, headlights rotate as new. Very well preserved, runs and drives like new. This is a sweet car. 5-speed, just inspected (June 2014). New timing chain, sprockets, guides and tensioner as well as head, intake, timing cover and valve cover gaskets. Crank seal also. New 750 CCA battery with 3 year replacement reciept. New tires, 205/60/14 on Supra wheels that look new. Front brake pads, rotors, wheel bearings and seals and rear shoes less than 5000 miles. Reciepts for all work described. Valve job apx. 50,000 miles ago. Solid exhaust system front to rear. Shocks/struts good condition, no bounce or leaks. No door sag. Rockers, floors, trunk solid. No leaks, no smoke, no issues. Intermittent wipers, storage compartments in door pulls (see pics) as well as bottom of door panels. Drivers seat has adjustable lumbar support, seat bottom showing minor wear. Window trim could use refinish. small wear hole in driver footwell carpet, not seen under floormats. Foglights, Pioneer 4-speaker CD stereo. Original in dash analog clock that keeps time!! 25MPG. No A/C. Spare is 1 of 2 good tread snow tires. Santa swaps his sleigh for a Ferrari-powered Toyota

A Ferrari-powered Toyota 86 is sure to garner a bit of attention, as well it should. We've been paying attention throughout this build, so it should be no surprise then that Santa did as well. He's ditched his red sleigh for the Gumout GT4586 in this video. If you've been following along, you know that Ryan Tuerck and Gumout built this completely bonkers machine that's far more exciting than some previous Japanese/Italian mash-up automobiles. Donut Media has been doing their part to document and promote every stage of the process. This new video is filled with the gratuitous amounts of lights, noise, and tire smoke that Donut is known for. We don't know the conversion from horsepower to reindeerpower, but the GT4586 should provide plenty of oomph for Santa's Christmas trek. Question of the Day: Ever consider driving a minivan?

Since I'm supposed to know something about cars, it happens all the time: friends and relatives ask me advice about what kind of vehicle they should get. Very often, the only type of vehicle that can check every item on their wish list (e.g., hauls lots of people and stuff, gets good fuel economy, has great crash-test ratings, can take four Great Danes camping, and so on) is a modern minivan... and, of course, nobody wants to hear this. I'm not a minivan person, they will wail, and so they end up with a cramped, fuel-swilling SUV or a not-so-space-efficient minivan-in-disguise CUV. So, is it worth becoming one of those minivan people in order to get the incredible usefulness of these masterpieces of vehicle engineering, or do you hold your head high and drive something that doesn't quite meet your needs? Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing

Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia.
