This is my wife's car. We are selling it because we need something bigger, as our family has grown. I have installed many new parts, including: New tires, shocks, wheel bearings, drilled & slotted rotors and pads, ball joints, tie rods, clutch and pressure plate. I also installed a newer rack & pinion that has only 29,000 miles. Most of these parts have virtually no miles on them, brand new. The transmission has new oil. The car drives excellent and gets awesome mileage. The motor is the bullet proof 2ZZ, six speed manual transmission, burns no oil and runs excellent. It has always been well serviced with regular oil changes (every 3,000 miles), the oil remains clean even when it is ready for changing. The previous owner always took it to the Toyota dealer for service. The car does have paint chips on the hood and a few scratches and a couple small dings elsewhere, but it still looks good. The interior is in great shape, with no rips or tears. The carpet is good, but is missing the drivers floor mat. The check engine light is on, but does not effect the way it runs, probably a sensor. Over all this is a great car and has many miles left.

Toyota Matrix not long for this world?
Thu, 18 Apr 2013According to a report from AutoGuide, Toyota doesn't have plans to replace the aging Matrix hatchback in the United States after this year. If true, the timing coincides with the replacement for the Corolla, on which the Matrix is based, with that car slated to get its first complete redesign since 2006 (2008 in the US market).
We'd love to tell you how many Matrix models were sold by Toyota in the United States last year, but the automaker chooses to bundle Matrix sales with Corolla sales, so we have no idea. That said, we have to assume sales of the hatchback don't contribute much overall to the total number of Corolla-based machines.
We're also unsure if Toyota will choose to exit the youth-oriented compact hatchback market entirely, or if the automaker will rely instead on its hybrid Prius line and Scion models like the xB and xD.
Sales incentive growth clustered around brands with few CUVs, trucks
Wed, 24 Sep 2014While it's arguably been around the longest, the dominance of the four-door sedan has been under threat for many years. As a further sign of the hurtin' that SUVs and crossovers have put on today's four-doors, a new report from Automotive News points to the increasing use of incentives by brands reliant on cars and light on CUVs and pickups.
Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Kia have all been stung by double-digit increases in their incentives-to-transaction price ratio, according to AN, which cites data from TrueCar. Honda's ratio is up 14 percent, while Toyota, VW and Kia are up 18, 15 and 19 percent, respectively.
"Most of the incentive growth we have seen is in product segments with low demand - midsized or large sedans," TrueCar CEO John Krafcik told AN. "As this trend goes on, the brands with three-sedan strategies are going to be in worse shape on incentive spending than the crossover brands."
Toyota launches new Pixis Epoch kei car in Japan
Sat, 12 May 2012Kei cars may be small in size, but they're big business in Japan. The latest arrival to the category is the little hatch you see above, the Toyota Pixis Epoch.
It's the fourth vehicle produced by the Daihatsu division but sold under the Toyota brand. As with other keis, power comes from a 660cc engine. It's mated to a continuously variable transmission driving either just the front wheels or all four. In both configurations, the Pixis Epoch features a stop-start system that helps its emissions and fuel efficiency figures come in well below even the Japanese government's stringent standards.
The whole package measures just 3,395 mm (133 inches) long, 1,475 mm (58 inches) wide and 1,500 mm (59 inches) tall, but offers a relatively spacious and utile interior, plus a tight turning radius of just 4.4 meters. Pricing ranges from 795,000 to 1.2 million yen - that's less than $10,000 (and no more than $15k). Further details in the press release after the jump.
