Up for sale is my personal 2000 Toyota Celica GT with 61,874 original miles. This is one of the lowest mileage Celica's left on the planet (check the Vehicle history report). It was damaged due to a recent encounter with a Deer (no other car involved) and sustained damage to the entire left side as seen in the photos. The engine starts right up, there are NO Check engine lights on, and the air bags did NOT deploy. CLEAN TITLE.

The interior is in mint condition, nice stereo, and all accessories appear to function properly. The car has an upgraded glass sunroof panel and is undamaged. Left rear A arm was bent in when car skidded into the curb and will need replaced along  with windshield , hatch glass and small left rear window. Drivers glass is OK. Tires are nearly new. Front windshield and hood gaps look good no damage to front pillars that I can see (I measured it x wise). See photos and judge for yourself.

I REALLY hate to let this one go, but I just don't have the resources to fix it. This car was a real pleasure to drive with the smooth fast responce of the engine with the 5 SPD, and always got great gas mileage 30+ and I was planning to keep it for a very long time. It is also a great looking car  (wish they still made them). Never gave me a single problem, oil was changed every 2000 miles. It's too nice to part out IMO so I am hoping a good body person can buy it and fix her up. Look at what other Celicas with high mileage are going for and the value here becomes obvious. Low mileage Engine alone is worth the opening bid. These cars are becoming highly collectible. I have plastic wrapped around the openings to keep the elements out and the interior looking pristine. Additionally I have inspected under the drivers side and everything visible (rocker & frame ect) appears perfect and straight. All the underside damage appears in the left rear suspension and it should not take much to get it rolling again.

I am available days to answer any questions you may have and can take additional pictures of specific items if you wish. My E-Bay feedback speaks for itself, and I will do everything possible to make this a great transaction for you.

This entire description is MY own opinion and is in NO WAY A WARRANTY of any kind. Car is being sold as a PARTS CAR and does not drive. It's your decision to fix or not. You are buying it AS IS WHERE IS and it will need to be flat bedded. I will do what I can to work with your transporter and try to help as much as possible to make things go smoothly. Will consider adding a buy it now for a serious buyer if you contact me.

A $300.00 deposit must be made within 24 hours of auctions end. Car MUST BE PICKED UP within 7 Days of end of auction unless prior arrangements have been made. Car is being re listed due to non paying bidder. Bidders with 0 or negative feedback will be automatically cancelled unless you contact me prior to bidding. Too bad for the rest of us there are some loosers with nothing better to do.

CAR IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY  and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

I can be reached at (732)571-8749 days. Thanks and good luck bidding!!!!!!!

Ford fights back against patent trolls

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Some people are just awful. Some organizations are just as awful. And when those people join those organizations, we get stories like this one, where Ford has spent the past several years combatting so-called patent trolls. According to Automotive News, these malicious organizations have filed over a dozen lawsuits against the company since 2012. They work by purchasing patents, only to later accuse companies of misusing intellectual property, despite the fact that the so-called patent assertion companies never actually, you know, do anything with said intellectual property. AN reports that both Hyundai and Toyota have been victimized by these companies, with the former forced to pay $11.5 million to a company called Clear With Computers. Toyota, meanwhile, settled with Paice LLC, over its hybrid tech. The world's largest automaker agreed to pay $5 million, on top of $98 for every hybrid it sold (if the terms of the deal included each of the roughly 1.5 million hybrids Toyota sold since 2000, the company would have owed $147 million). Including the previous couple of examples, AN reports 107 suits were filed against automakers last year alone. But Ford is taking action to prevent further troubles... kind of. The company has signed on with a firm called RPX, in what sounds strangely like a protection racket. Automakers like Ford pay RPX around $1.5 million each year for access to its catalog of patents, which it spent nearly $1 billion building. "We take the protection and licensing of patented innovations very seriously," Ford told AN via email. "And as many smart businesses are doing, we are taking proactive steps to protect against those seeking patent infringement litigation." What are your thoughts on this? Should this patent business be better managed? Is it reasonable that companies purchase patents only to file suit against the companies that build actual products? Have your say in Comments.

New Forza 6 car pack will let you race the Pontiac Aztek

Fri, Jan 29 2016

Just in time for this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the new Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One lets you slip into the driver's seat of last year's winner. If you want to take something much weirder for a spin, the collection also includes a 2005 Pontiac Aztek. The download is available now for $6.99. The Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona was in a four-car battle early in last year's race, but it eventually was victorious. Forza Motorsport 6 also challenges drivers who download the car to a new Rivals event around Daytona, and the fastest people could win Alpinestars prizes. If you're nostalgic for a classic Daytona racecar, this pack includes Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7. The V8-powered beast won the IMSA GTO class in the 24-hour event in 1990. It should be fun around the game's longer road courses like Road Atlanta. This collection also has an eclectic mix of vehicles that aren't racecars. The controversial Aztek and the equally-controversial 1996 Subaru SVX take their places beside a lineup that offers drivers three eras of performance cars – a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger, 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5, and 1992 Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifoglio Verde. The video below shows all of them in action. Race to the Finish Line with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 By Xbox Wire Staff posted on January 27, 2016 at 8:00 am With the racing season set to kick into full gear during this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona race, Forza fans now have a chance to get their own taste of endurance racing glory with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, available on Thursday, Jan. 28. Leading off the pack of seven cars is last year's 24 Hours of Daytona winner, the 2015 Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona Prototype. The prototype will be fielded in this weekend's race, which begins at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 30 and can be viewed live on Fox Sports 1 in the U.S. The Alpinestars Car Pack features six additional cars, each with a unique pedigree all its own. From the 1990 Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7 – also a competitor in Daytona 24 Hour events of years past – to the inimitable 2005 Pontiac Aztek (famous more for its fictional owner than its performance), this pack has something for every kind of car fan. Forza Motorsport 6 is the only game where players can drive last year's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner on the recently remodeled Daytona International Speedway.

Toyota Avalon celebrates 20 years with Touring Sport Edition

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

The Toyota Avalon may not have the sportiest image on the market. Heck, it doesn't even have the sportiest image in the Toyota lineup. But the Japanese automaker is out to fix that perception, at least a little bit, with the launch of the new Touring Sport Edition.
Announced together with some minor updates to the entire Avalon line - consisting primarily of enhanced safety and infotainment systems - the Avalon XLE Touring Sport Edition celebrates the 20th anniversary of Toyota's large sedan line. Setting this special edition apart are a black paintjob, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloys (similar in design to those on the Scion FR-S) and an interior decked out with perforated leather with dark blue trim... plus, of course, the requisite special badges inside and out.
Only 2,500 units will be offered with a $37,170 sticker price that puts it near (if not quite at) the top of the Avalon range that's capped by the $41,700 Avalon Hybrid Limited. Pricing has increased on most models by around two percent, and you can scope out all the details of the updates to the full range in the press releases below.
