This is your chance to own a piece of rally history. What you see before you is a 1992 Toyota Celica Alltrac Turbo (Chassis Code: ST185), also known as the GT-Four in non-North American Markets. This is one of the most powerful celicas every produced, and IS the most powerful celica every produced in North America (due to the fact that the ST205 was never sold to the North American Market). This car is equipped with a 2.0L Turbocharged engine designed by Yamaha (Engine Code: 3SGTE) and a AWD powertrain equipped with a limited slip differential and suited with a 5 speed manual transmission. I bought the car in Arizona in January 2009, this vehicle has a history of many owners but don't let that deter you from purchasing this magnificant machine. There has been some work done prior to me owning the car, which is a transplanted JDM engine that is equipped with even more power than the USDM counterpart (this engine has approx 60,000 miles, body has approx 170,000). it has the original USDM head but the block is JDM (equipped with EGR). The body has some cosmetic damage, a sizeable dent on the rear passenger end and the rest of the body is in FAIR shape, but the vehicle is mehcanically STRONG. The interior is in GOOD Shape with recently replaced seats (minor damage), leather shifter boot, updated stereo (2 600 watt amps and Kicker components), and and Pioneer LCD Reciever with iPOD/AUX connectivity. Also has a short shifter upgrade and TRD Shift knob upgrade, as well as an autometer boost gauge. it has a some cosmetic upgrades that should appeal to any JDM fan which include the GT-Four RC VIS Carbon Fiber Hood, GT-Four RC Front Bumper with Fog Lights, JDM Front Clear Corners, JDM rear side markers, as well as a GT-Four (not installed and RC emblem. It is equipped with a manual boost gague that can be set at the stock 10psi all the way up to 17psi (I usually DD at 14psi), K&N Drop in Box Air Filter and a HKS Silent-Hi Power 3in Cat-Back Exhaust (also has test pipe), also installed are a pair of Scion tC 17in wheels with Toyota Centercaps that fit from a Toyota Prius. Car easily pushes 250HP and is a sleeper. Needs some TLC but is a great Daily Driver. Has minimal rust damage and the most prevelant on the body damage as mentioned earlier. Extremely RARE car to find in North America and has recently got a new clutch and some fresh V rated 225/45/R17 Toyo All-Season Tires.

The only problem you will encounter besides the body damage is the suspension. Its shot from the ground up. Needs new Struts/Shocks/Springs as well as Strut Mounts. At the capacity of this damage I would just go ahead an install an aftermarket coilover system. K-Sport offers the best. If you install that you would have a nice Autocross car with plenty of potential.

There are no refunds car is sold AS-IS. Buyer is Responsible for pickup and delivery.

Carmakers ask Trump to revisit fuel efficiency rules

Mon, Feb 13 2017

Car companies operating in the US are required to meet stringent fuel efficiency standards (a fleet average of 54.5MPG) through 2025, but they're hoping to loosen things now that President Trump is in town. Leaders from Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and VW have sent a letter to Trump asking him to rethink the Obama administration's choice to lock in efficiency guidelines for the next several years. The car makers want to revisit the midterm review for the 2025 commitment in hopes of loosening the demands. They claim that the tougher requirements raise costs, don't match public buying habits and will supposedly put "as many a million" jobs up in the air. The Trump administration hasn't specifically responded to the letter, although Environmental Protection Agency nominee Scott Pruitt had said he would return to the Obama-era decision. The automakers' argument doesn't entirely hold up. While the EPA did estimate that the US would fall short of efficiency goals due to a shift toward SUVs and trucks, the job claims are questionable. Why would making more fuel efficient vehicles necessarily cost jobs instead of pushing companies to do better? As it is, even a successful attempt to loosen guidelines may only have a limited effect. All of the brands mentioned here are pushing for greater mainstream adoption of electric vehicles within the next few years -- they may meet the Obama administration's expectations just by shifting more drivers away from gas power. Toyota Tacoma X-Runner dead

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

A report from last week indicated that Toyota will begin trimming models from its Tacoma lineup starting with the Regular Cab in 2015, but the popular pickup will lose its first variant even sooner than that. For 2014, the Tacoma X-Runner has been dropped, though the company's SR Package could fill the need of those looking for a sporty pickup.
The X-Runner has been around since 2005 with its lowered stance, aftermarket-look body kit and bright paint colors, all of which are offered available only on V6-powered, two-wheel-drive Access Cab Tacomas. The new SR Package sounds like it will offer a somewhat similar appearance, though, with a monotone exterior paint scheme in limited colors accented with smoked headlights, but it will only be offered on Pre-Runner and 4x4 models. Other changes being made to the 2014 Tacoma include a new wheel option with black finish, a wider variety of Entune multimedia features, and the option to have the backup camera display moved from the rearview mirror to the audio system head unit.

Japanese automakers welcome North American trade deal, fear what's next

Tue, Oct 2 2018

TOKYO — Toyota, Nissan and Mazda welcomed on Tuesday the revised North America trade deal that left Japanese automakers unscathed, but they may face a bumpy ride when Washington and Tokyo hold new talks on over $40 billion of annual U.S. auto imports from Japan. The United States and Canada reached an agreement on Sunday to update the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement after Washington had forged a separate trade deal with Mexico in August. The updated deal effectively maintains the auto industry's current footprint in North America, and spares Canada and Mexico from the prospect of U.S. national security tariffs on their vehicles. Mazda, which ships cars to the United States from Mexico and Japan, called the deal a "big step forward". Nissan, which makes the cars it sells in the United States locally as well as in Mexico, Japan and other countries, said it was "encouraged" by the agreement. Toyota, Japan's biggest automaker, said it was "pleased" that a basic deal was reached. Other automakers were not immediately available for comment. While the deal has removed the risk that the disintegration of the pact would have posed to automakers, bigger risks loom large for Japanese firms as a chunk of the roughly 7 million cars they sold in the U.S. last year were shipped from Japan, and a trade deal between Washington and Tokyo has yet to be agreed. The United States and Japan last week agreed to begin fresh trade talks, with U.S. President Donald Trump seeking to address Japan's $69 billion trade surplus, of which nearly two-thirds comes from auto exports. Washington is also investigating the possibility of slapping 25 percent tariffs on auto imports on national security grounds, although it has agreed with Japan to put any new tariffs on hold during the talks. Analysts say the United States may take a tougher stance on auto imports from Japan than from its neighbors. "If Japan requests an exemption from the 25 percent tariffs under consideration, Washington could propose a more strict cap on imports than it agreed to with Mexico and Canada," said Koji Endo, senior analyst at SBI Securities. "That would be a risk." This could be a big blow to Japan, as the United States is a key source of revenue for Japanese automakers including Toyota, Nissan and Honda. The U.S. market accounts for a quarter or more of their annual global vehicle sales, and of their total U.S.
