2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid Sedan 4-door 2.4l on 2040-cars

Year:2011 Mileage:21994
Location:

Fremont, Nebraska, United States

Fremont, Nebraska, United States

For sale is our Toyota Camry Hybrid.  We leased this vehicle brand new from Old Mill Toyota in Omaha, Nebraska.  It has every last option offered by Toyota minus the rear spoiler, but to include navigation, sunroof, leather, power seats all around, heated seats, keyless ignition, premium sound, Bluetooth, satellite radio, etc. etc.  My wife drove it exclusively to work and back, and routinely got over 38 MPG.  The lease is up at the end of this month and she has put 21,994 miles on it.  This car is perfect mechanically in every way.  I just took it to Old Mill Toyota to get any work done it needed while still under warranty.  They went through the whole vehicle, and they said the cruise control switch needed replacing so they did.  There is nothing wrong with this Camry whatsoever.  We put on better snow tires when we leased it, and we are keeping those just in case we lease another Camry.  Therefore, we just purchased four top of the line Firestone Firehawk All-Season tires at over $700.  They have about 100 miles on them.

Like I mentioned it is due to be turned in off lease the end of this month, and we certainly could do just that.  We got to thinking though, why not put this on e-bay and give someone a chance to get a fantastic low miles Camry for less than dealer price.  Otherwise the dealer is just going to pay off the residual, add $5,000 and make a great profit.  The residual pay-off is $18,900 so we have set the reserve at precisely $500 over that at $19,400.  We will take the $500+ we make and take a trip to the beach (it has been one heck of a winter in Nebraska!!).  The winning bidder can save thousands off dealer price and get a fully loaded perfect Camry...with brand new tires.

We have sold many vehicles on e-bay over the years, and have always disclosed everything so here are some minuses.  We live two miles in on a dirt road so there are some minor rock specks in the front.  The interior is light gray so it does show a little wear that wouldn't show on black as a comparison.  The light color is very cool in the summer though for a bonus.  My wife hit a lifted pickup truck from behind and it needed some repair.  It was a very light "tap" (it happened in our youngest daughter's school parking lot, and my wife said she was barely moving), but there was a mild crease in the plastic front bumper.  We took it to Performance Toyota in Lincoln, Nebraska and had it repaired with all Toyota parts.  That is it.

Thank you for looking and bid with confidence.  We will work with shipping or pick up with anyone no worries.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.

Toyota prices fuel cell sedan $70K in Japan, coming to US and Europe next summer [w/video]

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Toyota has finally unveiled its FCV hydrogen fuel cell sedan and its Japanese price. We won't have to wait too long to see the first of these revolutionary vehicles on the roads. It will go on sale in Japan in April 2015 and will come to the US and Europe later that summer.
In Japan, the FCV will be priced at roughly 7 million yen before taxes ($68,810 at current exchange rates). However, Toyota makes it clear in the press release that we shouldn't try to extrapolate US MSRP from that figure, saying that official pricing for the US and Europe has not yet been determined. As will be the case in the US, sales in Japan will be limited to parts of the country that already have a hydrogen refueling infrastructure (that means you, California).
The production version of the FCV looks almost identical to the concept from last year's Tokyo Motor Show. There is a new vertical strip of LEDs at each corner of the front air intake and real sideview windows, instead of the nubs on the prototype. The weird squiggles from the rear trim are also gone in favor of a more production-ready look, but the taillights survive the changes mostly intact.
