This is a 2 owner car with just over 43 thousand original miles.  I purchased it from an estate.  The women had passed away and her family sold it to me. Yes she was elderly and barely drove it, but I am sure you can research the title and see it came from an trust because that is how it was titled.  The car starts and runs great, I don't know what to say it is a Toyota.  I have it listed under blue book by a fair amount for one reason which is listed below.  Please look at the photos for details as they are the best descriptors.  But I will detail as much as I can.  The interior is in excellent shape as you can see.  The previous owner and myself did not smoke so there is no smell or anything like that in the car. The exterior is faded some.  There are 3 apparent paint scratches that I have put in the photos, but no dents, no accidents, no issues other then anything you can see in the photos with the exterior.  The one photo with the significant paint chipping is the rubber bumper on the front on the right side only.  It takes up about 6x4 inches or and I have no idea what happened as it was there when I bought the car.  The other two are accurate with the photo so please look closely.

As far as I was told the previous owner lived in Arizona the whole time she owned the car and I have as well.  I purchased the car with about 27k miles on it and drove it to its current 43k miles and have had no problems.

Good:  New tires, literally less then 1k miles on them all four. Low Miles obviously, Its a Toyota need I say more, Clean interior, No dents, no rust anywhere, resale will continue to hold.

Bad: The areas on the car where you can see the little scuffs or scratches, or whatever you want to call it.  Now the only problem that I am aware of and why it is listed below KBB.  It has a little grinding coming from either the front brakes, or some part of the drive train.  I am not a mechanic so I really have no idea what it is.  All I can say is the motor has NO issues and the sound is definitely not the motor. I can also say that I was driving it and I thought it started grinding when I hit the brakes, but then after about 100 more miles it seemed like the grinding noise was more often but only when the car is in motion and it if definitely a rubbing or grinding type sound.  I have not had anything on the brakes looked at, but I have not had the transmission or drive components looked at either, but my brother (also not a mechanic) said he had something similar happen and it was his transmission.  I do not want to mislead and state it is brakes when it may be something else in the drive train, all I know for certain is it is not the motor which is strong and should last like a Toyota typically does.

Feel free to inspect it first, the car does run fine and will drive down the road but due to the issue I would have it inspected prior to driving and distance.  I have it below KBB and the car will resale just fine regardless.  I am selling it because it was meant to go to my son but teenage issues have changed that plan.  Feel free to call with any questions.  Brian 623-297-2379

Scion rules out roadster, turbo versions of FR-S

Tue, Nov 25 2014

Ever since Toyota and Subaru released the sports car alternatively known as the GT86, 86, BRZ and Scion FR-S a couple of years ago, rumors have circulated that even more exciting variants could be in store. But at least as far as Scion is concerned, those rumors are apparently nothing more than wishful thinking. Speaking with WardsAuto at the LA Auto Show last week, Scion chief Doug Murtha said that the prospect of an FR-S roadster has been taken off the table entirely. Apparently Scion lobbied parent company Toyota to produce just such a model, but after failing to find other markets interested enough in the model to put it into production, corporate HQ said no. "I think we were pretty aggressive on our (submitted plan), but we looked at what we would have conceivably lost on the product and said, 'We're not going to even push it further,'" Murtha said, going on to note, "Nobody was more disappointed than we were." Murtha further shot down the idea of a turbo version of the FR-S, dismissing it as a prospect the blogosphere (that's us) wanted to happen but "that's not something that's coming." Either variant might have helped Scion and Toyota boost sales of the model (which are predictably dropping after their first two years on the market), but the investment also might not have paid off their development, tooling and marketing costs. Of course, Murtha can only speak for Toyota, but we'd be surprised to see Subaru go it alone on either model, as costs would be that much more prohibitive without a partner. Bummer.

Fuel cells will flop outside Japan, says VW

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

"It may fly within Japan, but not globally," VW's Shoji said.
It's long been battered into our beleaguered auto writer brains that the ultimate future source of motivation for tomorrow's cars and trucks is not gasoline, diesel, electricity, natural gas, propane or solar power - it's the hydrogen fuel cell. It's been the Next Big Thing since the start of Next Big Things.

Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell Mirai isn't good enough to be a Lexus

Thu, Nov 17 2016

It looks like the first hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle from Lexus will be faster than previously advertised, but it will get to the market slower than expected. It's all part of the paradox involved with Toyota looking to broaden its fuel-cell technology beyond the Mirai. Either way, the first Lexus fuel-cell vehicle is slated to start sales by the end of the decade, said Auto Express, citing comments from Alain Uyttenhoven, head of Lexus Europe. Uyttenhoven noted that it'd take an SUV to provide enough space to accommodate the packaging for the Lexus fuel cell powertrain. That comment may imply that the hydrogen-fueled powertrain from Lexus will offer similar performance to that of the Lexus RX450h hybrid SUV. That model delivers 300 horsepower and boasts a 0 to 60 mile-per-hour time of about seven seconds. Such a mill would be a departure from what we'd previously reported on Toyota's plans to expand its fuel-cell technology to its Lexus luxury badge. With Toyota believed to be planning to unveil as many as three fuel-cell models in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the Japanese automaker said early last year that it may have a Lexus fuel-cell vehicle available as soon as 2017, while reports suggesting the model would be a Lexus LS-based sedan. Additionally, the Mirai's fuel-cell powertrain had been believed to be the platform for the proposed Lexus fuel cell from the moment that model started sales in California last year. Apparently, though, the Mirai's 152-horsepower powertrain, coupled with a full-tank range that would be about 20 percent less than the 300-mile Mirai, isn't up to snuff for Lexus duty.
