2013 Toyota Avalon Xle Touring Sedan 4-door Magnetic Gray / Black on 2040-cars
Schenectady, New York, United States
This is a 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE Touring model in Magnetic Gray Metallic with a black leather interior. We bought the car new in November of last year. We've gone through some changes since then, and my wife has decided to follow her dream and start a new career. So
while she loves the car, it doesn't make sense for us to keep it. It is in excellent condition with 8,540 miles on it (and I'd expect to have a few more on it when sold, since its still being driven). Just about every other ad I've seen talks about how flawless their car is. Well, this isn't every other ad! While this has never been in an accident, and there are no dents or dings, the exterior has a few minor scratches from the ordinary wear and tear you get in a parking lot. The interior is mint, and has been smoke-free since new.
The Avalon comes loaded with about every feature you could ask for as standard equipment. It is only 8 months old, so you have the balance of the warranty (Toyota standard 3yr/36k) left as well as the remainder of the 2yr/25k ToyotaCare package, which covers routine maintenance. We are still paying for the car (i.e. there is a lien on it), but New York State law allows a title with a lien to be transferred to a new owner before the lien is released. There is some paperwork involved, but it is fairly straightforward. While I've bought and sold a few things over the years on eBay, this is the first time I've tried to sell a car. I want you to know exactly what you are getting before you place a bid, so if you have any questions please let us know! We are more than willing to take additional pictures if there is something in particular you'd like to see, or talk with you either through email or on the phone at 203-392-4382. If you are looking for an almost new car with all the bells and whistles then this is THE one for you! |

Japan's Prime Minister likes Toyota FCV's pickup, zero emissions
Sat, Aug 2 2014Japan's prime minister has a lead foot, apparently. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe recently had a photo op with Toyota's first production hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, even getting behind the wheel for a spin (no chauffeur for him, so much respect on our part). His primary impression was that the car had great pickup, before settling on the more politically correct view of noting the vehicle's lack of emissions. In the 87-second video below, we can see the prime minister's appreciation of the car's performance as Toyota Motor Corp. Managing Officer Satoshi Ogiso dutifully rides shotgun. Abe also noted that he was "cheering" for the car's success. And he will apparently do his part there. The Japanese government will provide incentives worth about $20,000 per vehicle, bringing down its out-of-pocket price to less than $50,000 from about $69,000. Toyota in June announced pricing on the sedan, which will start sales next spring. The car can go 435 miles on a full tank from a hydrogen refueling station, wherever those can be found. Recent reports claim Toyota will name the model Mirai, which means "future" in Japanese, though the company hasn't made any official announcement. In the present, at least, it is making Japan's leader happy. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Recharge Wrap-up: 'Racing Extinction' Tesla, Wards praises 3 hybrids
Fri, Dec 11 2015The makers of Racing Extinction used a tricked out Tesla Model S for their movie. The artists and activists used the electric car as a platform to project images from nature in various cities to raise awareness about imperiled wildlife. In addition to a the high-powered projector, the Model S features a electroluminescent paint job that emits light to mimic creatures found in the wild, such as bioluminescent sea life. It also has a thermal imaging camera in the front of the car with a filter to view CO2 emissions. Check it out in the video above, and read more at Ecomento. WardsAuto has named the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid's powertrain to its list of 10 Best Engines. As the first plug-in hybrid to make the list, WardsAuto World Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter praises Hyundai engineers for their "impeccable job blending fuel efficiency with refinement and daily usability." Wards notes the car's smooth transitions between electric and hybrid modes, and a well-connected six-speed automatic transmission. Other electrified vehicles to make the list are the 2016 Chevrolet Volt and 2016 Toyota Prius. Read more from Hyundai, at Green Car Reports. FEV's plug-in hybrid battery pack has gone into vehicle series production. The 10-kWh battery pack, developed by the German development services provider, offers an all-electric range of about 30 miles. FEV says its battery management algorithms are just as important as choosing the right battery hardware. "The core system for the battery development is our own mature battery management system (BMS), now in its third generation, that together with optimized algorithms allows a very reliable and stable control of the battery," says FEV's Dr. Michael Stapelbroek. Read more at Green Car Congress, or in the press release from FEV below. Hybrid Vehicle Goes Into Series Production FEV development competence consists of batteries, controls, as well as complete drive systems FEV has demonstrated competence in the development of alternative drive concepts for almost twenty years. Most recently, yet another plug-in hybrid vehicle has gone into series production with technology provided by the Aachen-based developer. In addition to using an innovative transmission concept which is based on a FEV patent, FEV also developed the battery technology of the plug-in hybrid vehicle to series production readiness.
2018 Technology of the Year Award | We chat with Lexus about the LC 500h's hybrid system
Mon, Jan 15 2018Every year, Autoblog editors test dozens and dozens of the newest vehicles available, sometimes even before they're available. From those vehicles, we select the ones we think provide the most innovative technology in the industry. Then we pare the list down to the very best, test them again, and vote on our winner for Technology of the Year. This year, Lexus's multi-stage hybrid system — as tested in the LC 500h — came out ahead of the rest of the finalists. We chose the 2018 Detroit Auto Show to hand over the award to Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Jeff Bracken. He was kind enough to sit down with Autoblog Senior Editor Alex Kierstein and Green Editor John Snyder at the Lexus stand to talk about the hybrid system, what it does, and what it means for the future of Lexus and Toyota. Check out the video above, and follow along for all our coverage from the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, where we are taking a look at all of the new cars and technology that we'll see in the near future. Perhaps the next winner of Autoblog's Technology of the Year award is sitting somewhere on the Detroit show floor.
