1998 Toyota Avalon Xls Sedan 4-door 3.0l Top Of The Line Car For Toyota In 1998 on 2040-cars

US $2,300.00
Year:1998 Mileage:180000

Youngstown, Ohio, United States

Hi, You are looking at my 1998 Toyota Avalon up for auction with no reserve.

It is in decent shape for the year.

I took the pictures while it was raining with leaves blowing.

It runs perfect and drives well without any issues and NO check engine lights.

I drive this car to and from work about 142 miles round trip two to five days a week.

Has heated seats for the ladies.

Everything works in the car and has memory seat for the driver heated seats for the front both sides, you set it and if someone moves the seat just press the button and it returns to where you had it set.

I would NOT be afraid to drive this car across the country as I said it runs perfect.

It has power locks, doors, seats, mirrors, windows and trunk(in the glove box).

It has AM FM CD Casset but 2 of the presset buttons are missing. The air works but could use a charge.

The inteirer is in good clean condition but has a one burn hole in the back seat.

Things that have been fixed or replaced: Tires 90% tread. New radiator, not a cheap one either. New EGR switch and rebuilt EGR valve. Rear door speakers, stereo sounds great. All outside door handles, wanted them to match. Oil change about 1500 miles ago.

Things that are less then perfect: Some dents dings in the paint and surface rust at the wheel wells NO HOLES. Two cracks in the windshield one at the bottom and not going nowhere and the other starts at the bottom and goes 1/4 of the way up and hasnt moved since I have had the car. Shocks make noise but are in good shape, work properly and dont leak. The rear Valve cover gaskets seeps oil onto the exhaust but does not drip to the ground. If you drive it every day you dont notice it if you dont you smell oil burn for a couple of minutes after you start it, gaskets are $20 but will take some time to change.

This was Toyota's top of the line car in 1998 and it shows with this car, Kelly Blue Book is $2600.

This is a great car for someone who needs a dependable car and gets about 27 MPG on the Highway.

I have bought a Chevy Cruze and no longer need this car.

If you have any Q's or want to come see the car you can call me at 330-507-0880.

Please check my feedback I am a top seller for ebay and have 100% positive feedback.

A nonrefundable deposit of $500 due at the end of the auction and wire transfer if not local.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Toyota CamRally is vanilla spiced

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We weren't quite sure it was possible, but NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman and the other folks behind this Toyota Dream Build Challenge vehicle (check out the other cars in the challenge) have made the Camry, a versatile but vanilla family sedan, into a performance car to be reckoned with. And by stripping it (literally) of its versatility and injecting some spice into it, this rally-spec Camry does indeed appeal to the enthusiast crowd.
The appeal starts with the CamRally's vintage Toyota racing colors of red, orange and yellow painted on a widened body. Those wide fender flares and rocker panels, paired with the revised front and rear fascias (and massive rear spoiler), lend the car an aggressive look without being tacky, and enhance the aerodynamics. But peel back the skin and you'll find plenty of performance upgrades to back up the looks.
While Toyota doesn't say how much horsepower it makes, the CamRally's V6 is turbocharged, and we assume the car's brake upgrade is indicative of the engine's increased output. The stripped interior only contains what's needed for rally racing, including bucket seats, a motorsport steering wheel covered in Alcantara, a carbon-fiber dashboard and a roll cage.

Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia. Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads

Fri, Sep 11 2015

Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring. Go give them all a read at Car and Driver.
