2013 Toyota Tundra Dc 5.7l - Silver- 10k Miles- *mint* 80k Warranty! Must See! on 2040-cars
Lubbock, Texas, United States
Up for grabs is my like new Silver Sky Metallic 2013 Toyota Tundra DC (Double Cab 4-door) with the desirable 381hp/401tq 5.7L engine, with ONLY 10,000 miles. It has the bulletproof 6-speed transmission with sequential shift mode. The truck is 2wd, and comes with the SR5 package, fog lights, back-up camera, tow package, and many other goodies that make this truck a pleasure to drive and own. My Tundra has been meticulously maintained, never smoked in, no kids, no accidents, nothing that makes this truck look or feel anything other than NEW. The 80k mile extended warranty, as well as the factory 3-year/36k mile bumper to bumper and 5-year/60k mile power train warranty stays with the truck for the new owner to enjoy the peace of mind.
This truck is nearly cosmetically PERFECT there are 4 dime (or smaller) sized dings in the passenger side bed panel, the truck had these dings on them when I bought it from the dealer. These TINY dings are ONLY visible when looking at the truck in the sunlight from the right angles. These blemishes are so unnoticeable I couldn't get a picture of them to show up. That is why no picture is included of these dings. Along with the creature comforts that come with the SR5 package, the truck also has chrome running board tube steps and a factory spray on bed liner, similar to Line-X or Rhino Liner. I'm selling my truck for less than trade-in value. If you were to find this exact truck on a dealer's lot, you would most likely be paying $29k-$31k to drive this truck home. I am deploying in December and want to sell before then, I don't need the payments and won't be able to drive it anyway. This is your chance to save thousands of dollars on a top notch, almost brand new truck that is in EXCELLENT. I have more pictures of the truck that I can email you if you are interested. Factory Options: SR5 Package: *Keyless Entry *Cruise Control *Power Bucket Seats *8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support and 4-way adjustable front passenger seat. *Air Conditioning, Dual Zone Climate Control *Fabric Seat Trim w/SR5 Package *Clear Front Fog & Driving Lights *Power Sliding Rear Window w/Privacy Glass *Rear Underseat Storage Tray *SR5 Badge *2-Box Over-Head Console *Radio: AM/FM Audio w/CD/MP3/WMA Playback *6 speakers, SiriusXM radio, auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod connectivity and hands-free phone capability and music streaming via Bluetooth wireless technology *Steering Wheel Touch Controls *Back-Up Camera In Rear View Mirror *Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror which includes: *Compass & HomeLink Universal Transceiver Tow Package: *Includes tow hitch receiver, trailer brake controller prewire, TOW/HAUL mode switch, transmission fluid temperature gauge, supplemental engine oil cooler, heavy-duty battery and 7-pin connector. *4.30 Rear Differential *Supplemental Transmission Cooler *170-Amp Alternator |

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Toyota sees Camry share loss despite predicting increasing sales
Tue, 02 Apr 2013Toyota may be set to lose share the midsize sedan market. While speaking with Automotive News, Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz said that if his company kept pace with the current swell in the market for family four doors, Toyota would need to sell around 500,000 Camry models. "I'm not sure we can do much more than 400 [thousand] today," Lentz said.
But that doesn't mean Camry sales are shrinking - on the contrary, Lentz thinks Toyota will likely sell more Camry units in 2013 than it did in 2012, it's just that the company isn't keeping pace with segment's current explosion in popularity. Industry wide, midsized sedan sales have increased by 20 percent. "Are we going to lose [Camry] share? Probably so," Lentz said, "but we will continue to grow in raw volume."
Toyota sold 404,886 Camry units last year, and the company just revised its 2013 sales objective from 2.18 million units earlier this year to 2.2-million plus units, so while things are looking up for the brand and Camry sales may be on the rise, Toyota may not have the muscle to keep up its share in the sedan segment. Whether that's because of a production bottleneck or a predicted sales ceiling isn't clear. We've got a call in and will update this news item if/when we learn more.
NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action
Mon, 20 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.
