2012 Toyota Tundra Base Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Evergreen, Colorado, United States
Condition and History Im am the original owner of this truck and it's in mint condition. Non-Smoking Family. This is my 5th truck and my 5th Toyota and I could not be happier with this amazing vehicle. The power of the 5.7L V8 engine will never get old, whether you're driving this truck to the office, or using it as the work-horse it's capable of being. I never used it for off-roading or for construction, just drove it to the office in the city and hauled some occasional toys. It's mostly highway miles as I live about 30 miles from the office. Warranty Included I bought the extended Platinum Warranty from Toyota that provides extensive coverage for 125,000 miles or 7 years. This warranty is transferrable and included. Features Includes 17-in. split 6-spoke gunmetal-color-finished TRD Rock Warrior forged alloy wheels with LT285/70R17 All-Terrain T/A tires, Bilstein® shock absorbers, fuel tank skid plates, color-keyed front bumper and grille surround, matte black rear bumper, fog lamps, sliding rear window with privacy glass, front bucket seats with 8-way adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat and black fabric-trimmed seating surfaces, TRD Rock Warrior graphics and auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated backup camera3 display, compass and HomeLink®6 universal transceiver. I added the Line-X spray in bed liner and the WeatherTech custom-fit floor liners. The tires are almost brand new. Shipping Buyer to arrange shipping if desired. |

Toyota confirms i-Road electric trike for production
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The wacky, three-wheeled Toyota i-Road we saw in Geneva earlier this year will be heading to production. But before you run down to your local Toyota dealer looking for one of these all-electric "personal mobility" vehicles, chances are, you'll never actually see one unless you visit Japan.
Announced at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) expo last week, Toyota said that the i-Road would be used as a part of the Ha:Mo car-sharing system in Japan. Weighing in at around 661 pounds, with a 28-mile-per-hour top speed and a two-passenger seating arrangement, the i-Road seems more like a fully enclosed scooter than a car, but it does offer a 30-mile driving range and has a nifty articulating front suspension that leans into corners. As for Ha:Mo, Toyota says that the number of cars in the program will increase from 10 prior to October 1 to 100 by the middle of this month, and the number of stations will almost double from 13 up to 21. Toyota has more details about the car and Ha:Mo in the press release posted below.
Honda may recall up to 1M vehicles for airbag issue, following Toyota's lead
Mon, 16 Jun 2014It seems Toyota won't be the only one recalling the faulty Takata airbag inflators for long. Honda insiders in Japan claim that the company is getting close to announcing its own worldwide campaign that would begin before the end of June.
Unnamed sources close to Honda in Japan tell Automotive News that the company is pursuing an internal investigation into possibly affected models and is working with Takata to gather more information. They claim that it could involve even more than the 1.14 million cars worldwide that the automaker covered under the first recall for the problem in April 2013, including 561,000 vehicles in the US.
Toyota jumpstarted this process last week when it recalled over 2 million cars worldwide, including 844,277 in the US. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began a preliminary evaluation into the issue following six reported incidents, and started assembling data about potentially affected models from Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler. NHTSA also began investigating Takata itself.
Is 120 miles just about perfect for EV range?
Tue, Apr 15 2014When it comes to battery-electric vehicles, our friend Brad Berman over at Plug In Cars says 40 miles makes all the difference in the world. That's the approximate difference in single-charge range between the battery-electric version of the Toyota RAV4 and the Nissan Leaf. It's also the difference between the appearance or disappearance of range anxiety. The 50-percent battery increase has zapped any lingering range anxiety, Berman writes. The RAV4 EV possesses a 40-kilowatt-hour pack, compared to the 24-kWh pack in the Leaf. After factoring in differences in size, weight and other issues, that means the compact SUV gets about 120 miles on a single charge in realistic driving conditions, compared to about 80 miles in the Leaf. "The 50 percent increase in battery size from Leaf to RAV has zapped any lingering range anxiety," Berman writes. His observations further feed the notion that drivers need substantial backup juice in order to feel comfortable driving EVs. Late last year, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), along with the Consumers Union estimated that about 42 percent of US households could drive plug-in vehicles with "little or no change" in their driving habits, and that almost 70 percent of US commuters drive fewer than 60 miles per weekday. That would imply that a substantial swath of the country should be comfortable using a car like the Leaf as their daily driver - with first-quarter Leaf sales jumping 46 percent from a year before, more Americans certainly are. Still, the implication here is that EV sales will continue to be on the margins until an automaker steps up battery capabilities to 120 or so miles while keeping the price in the $30,000 range. Think that's a reasonable goal to shoot for?
