Selling my 4x4 Toyota Tundra with 98,000 miles that are almost entirely highway miles. This truck has been incredibly good to me, and I've put a lot of parts into it, I have decided to downsize vehicles.

The Awesome:
•SnugTop Rebel topper with electronic keyless lock/unlock
•Hand built camper/storage setup in the topper (optional)
•Electronic trailer break
•Expedition One welded rear bumper
•GG Lighting LED backup lights
•Tinted tail lights
•Tinted amber turn signals
•All four windows + windshield tinted
•OEM tow mirrors
•Aftermarket stereo with bluetooth audio streaming, hands-free microphone, USB, and aux
•Two 10" subwoofers under rear seats
•Amplifier mounted behind rear seats
•WeatherTech DigiFit all season weather mats
•K&N air intake
•MagnaFlow full exhaust system
•Brand new 275/70R18 BFG All Terrain tires with less than 1200 miles on them.

The Not So Awesome:
•Windshield has a crack in the bottom portion of it. It has been there since the previous owner owned the truck. I didn’t fix the crack because it wasn’t growing, didn’t affect visibility, and it passed inspection.
•Small dent in rear tailgate. While the tailgate was down I backed into a rock.

I built camper/storage setup in the bed of the truck. There are 6 storage drawers in total, with marine carpet on top. The middle section can be removed to put bikes in, and skis can be slid in underneath. Size wise, it fits a queen size air mattress perfectly, and is a dream to sleep in. I lived in it for almost two months while driving around the western US and British Columbia. I’d love to pass this along to the next owner and see it get used, however, I have no issue taking it out.

This truck has been very, very good to me and I am disappointed to see it go; however, I need a more economical car. It’ll go anywhere you point it and take all the gear you need along with it. Plus, you never need to pay for a hotel room. Sleeping in the back of the truck is definitely not roughing it.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Auto execs surveyed say VW, BMW most likely to grow

Thu, 17 Jan 2013

A new survey of top global automotive executives indicates both Volkswagen and BMW are the most likely to grow their market share over the next five years.
Tax advisory firm KPMG LLP has released its 14th annual Global Automotive Executive Survey, which includes responses from over 200 executives. A total of 81 percent of respondents said they expect to see Volkswagen make gains, compared to 70 percent last year. BMW, meanwhile, saw 70 percent of those surveyed say they believe the company will increase its market share. That's a jump of 7 percentage points over last year. This is the first time in the history of the survey that BMW has claimed the second-place spot.
Meanwhile, Hyundai has seen its perceived market share potential slacken for the third year in a row. Around 61 percent of those surveyed predicted gains for Hyundai, down from 63 in 2012. Toyota also has a surprising year, but for just the opposite reason. While the manufacturer had slipped in ranking since 2011, it enjoyed the largest increase of any company in the 2013 survey, jumping to 68 percent from 44 percent last year.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
