4 Speed, 35mpg, Reliable, Cheap on 2040-cars
Irwin, Pennsylvania, United States
Excellent car if you are looking for cheap, basic, reliable transportation. Gets 29-36 mpg depending on where and how you drive. This is a small car so routine maintenance parts like tires and brakes are much less expensive than other cars. Doesn't have a lot of optional power accessories to break down. Has some nice features like: intermittent wipers, Alpine stereo with Sony speakers, and a split fold down rear seat that folds completely flat so you can fit an amazing amount of cargo for such a small car. Drives and runs great. Needs no work to be your daily driver. Just get in it and go. Has had regular oil changes. I have the maintenance records. I did all the maintenance and repairs work myself (I'm an auto mechanic). Has lots of new parts like: front struts, radiator, muffler (replaced 3 months ago), heater core (replaced 6 months ago), and rear tires (replaced 2 months ago). The body needs work if you want it to look pretty but it is structurally sound. As you can see from the photos, there is a lot of rust, some prior rust repair that was not sanded smooth, some dents and dings, and the paint needs buffed to restore the shine. Comes with a Haynes service manual which is nice if you like to do your own maintenance. Car is located in Irwin, PA. You are welcome to come see it in person and take it for a drive before you bid. Just contact me and we can make arrangements. |

Toyota Tacoma helps stand up to your girlfriend, mimes, magicians and the Grim Reaper
Mon, 26 Aug 2013It takes a lot to get a product noticed in today's fast-paced world, but one avenue that's always seemed to grab the eyeballs of consumers has been humor. Toyota knows this rule well, and has put together a quartet of spots called "Tacoma Wins," in which the midsize pickup's features and specifications best a number of seemingly worthy competitors.
Whether it be sobbing girlfriends, a circus magician, a grim reaper or the scariest thing of all, a mime, the Tacoma looks well equipped to deal with it. Take a look below for all four of Toyota's newest spots.
Toyota recalls 4,000 Tacoma pickups over valve springs
Thu, 07 Nov 2013When you build as many cars and trucks as Toyota does, you're bound to run into the occasional recall. In the past month alone, the Japanese auto giant has recalled over 800,000 Camry, Avalon and Venza models over problems with the air-conditioning units, and 10,000 more before that over windshield wiper issues. Now Toyota has issued another recall notice, but this time for far fewer vehicles.
The recall revolves around the engine valve springs in the 2013 and 2014 Tacoma, specifically those fitted with the standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and not the optional 4.0-liter V6. The issue is that the valve springs are prone to cracking and breaking over time, and results from improper maintenance of the manufacturing equipment used by one of the two suppliers that outfit Toyota with the components in question.
All told, some 4,000 vehicles will be subject to the voluntary recall, the owners of which will receive notice by mail. If you think that could be you and want to get a jump on the problem, you can read the announcement below and call Toyota yourself.
Toyota recalls 209,000 FJ Cruisers over seatbelt issue
Sat, 16 Mar 2013Toyota has announced that it will be issuing a substantial recall of the FJ Cruiser for a problem that could cause the front seatbelt retractors to separate from the vehicle body. This recall will apply to all FJ Cruisers - from 2007 through 2013 - totaling around 209,000 units.
The problem stems from the FJ Cruiser's pillarless door opening design that has the front-occupant seatbelts attached to the rear doors. Toyota says that when the rear doors are "repeatedly and forcefully closed," the retractor could completely separate from the door frame.
While there is no information about this recall from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yet, Toyota says that there have been no accidents or injuries associated with this issue. No specific fix or recall date are given, but the official press release is posted below.
