1983 Toyota Truck 4x4 Stepside No Reserve on 2040-cars
Beaverton, Michigan, United States
1983 4x4 Toyota with a stepside longbox(I do not have any info on the box, toyota is embossed on the tailgate)...I have had the truck about 5 years and drove it off and on except the past 2 yrs. odometer reads 99,xxx mile but it has not worked since I purchased truck, but all other gauges are functioning. Truck is in good condition but I would say this is a good restoration truck as it needs work. It runs and drives but the clutch is just about gone...floor boards are need replaced(they have been patched at one point also....fuel tank leaks when full(tank is not rusted ,leaks at sending unit)....pass rocker has rust and their is no muffler My plan was to go thru the whole truck top to bottom....but work and other projects I dont see myself getting to this truck for a while, and I hate having it sit there.
The frame is one of the best I have seen...just needs cleaning and paint...no rot or previous patch work...I believe the springs are stock but it does have a body lift....I bought the truck as you see it other than the 5 matching Toyota Land Cruiser wheels with matching 33" Kumho tires(all 80%) that I put on. Like I said it would be a great restoration truck....it will need to be towed/trailered...it does not have a battery but I can supply one one to drive it onto a trailer..The truck got alot of looks when I had it on the road. If you have any questions please let me know. No reserve first bid wins. Thanks I can keep the truck as long as buyer needs to figure out transport, but it must be paid for within 10days of auction...Thanks! |

2015 Toyota Sienna SE keeps the swagger, adds thoughtful updates [w/videos]
Thu, 17 Jul 2014Toyota found huge success with its "Swagger Wagon" rap video for the 2011 Sienna SE. It showed that a minivan could actually sort of maybe be fun and didn't have to be a lame vehicle for people who long ago lost their sense of humor. Now that there is a slight refresh for the 2015 model, the company is trying to capture that effervescent image again with a bunch of videos aimed at families.
For the latest launch, Toyota is partnering with some family-friendly online video stars and having them show off the Sienna's features. It's releasing YouTube videos from the creators of Action Movie Kid and Convos with My 2-Year-Old and a Vine from Eh Bee Family, and they all hope to show that it's cool to be a family with a minivan.
In terms of actual changes, though, the update is pretty light aesthetically, but the new tech inside seems aimed directly at mom and dad. However, unless you've got a sharp eye, spotting the exterior refresh might be tough. Toyota is tweaking the front end slightly by adding a dark mesh grille and trim. The headlights are also slightly reshaped to incorporate a new strip of available LED running lights.

Dutch Toyota dealer has plans for old Prius batteries as solar backup
Thu, May 1 2014A Toyota dealer in the Netherlands is looking to the sky for power. The Louwman Hague Toyota dealership has put almost 1,000 solar panels on the roof, and there might be some Prius hybrid batteries involved. Our Dutch isn't as good as it could be and our questions to Toyota in the US haven't turned up any definitive answers, but there is some mention that these solar panels are will someday be feeding power into a bank of Toyota hybrid batteries. The 1,000 panels make up 1,600 square meters, about the size of 4.5 IMAX movie screens, and is the largest in the area. They generate around a quarter of a megawatt of energy [as our readers point out, this is what the translation says, but it doesn't make sense, so we think it might mean a quarter MW of power a day], which is enough to power 80 homes. The excess electricity will go into the battery packs that have (possibly) already been used in a Prius or another of the company's hybrid. There are many examples of automotive batteries being tested as stationary back-up power sources, and maybe this Dutch solution can be used as a guide when Toyota sets up its new US headquarters in sunny Texas.
