Up for Auction is my 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I purchased it used at a dealer in New Hampshire. I believe I'm the second owner. She has over 200000 miles on the 4 cylinder engine but still runs very well, is plated, inspected, and registered in Texas and is my daily driver. In 2011 the factory issued a "service bulletin" for the frame due to premature rust so I received a brand new frame and all associated service kits from Toyota. Local dealer did the $14000 frame swap. So the frame has may years of warranty left. However, that new frame is on a WELL used truck with many scratches, dents and blemishes. The rear bumper shows worst of the corrosion. Paint is not faded but has plenty of nicks and scratches. The interior is grey cloth and also looks pretty good for the mileage. There is one cut on the driver's seat from a runaway pocket knife, otherwise very fair condition. Most pressing issues right now are a bad tie rod end, a whine in the power steering pump, a squeaky belt and a cracked windshield. 4x4 works great with no noise. Manual transmission works great with no noise. Door windows work great (manual crank) but rear vent windows closures have broken miles ago. Radio/cassette/CD player work great. Power outlets work but I disconnected cigarette lighter long ago. Has a factory bed liner and Thule utility rack. Bed gate latch does not work but I rigged inside latch. Overall, this is a great truck that is serving me well, I believe it has tons of life left, but its time for me to find a gas sipper. Taco as have a great reputation for long life and are sought after around here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll respond as best I can. Winning bidder will need to pay $500 deposit (not refundable) at close of auction and make prompt arrangements for payment and pick up. I have this truck listed locally so I may end auction early if some one makes the right deal.

Toyota C-HR hybrid crossover coupe concept leak ahead of Paris
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Last week, Toyota previewed an upcoming concept called the C-HR and promised it would debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. It didn't say much more or give us anything beyond a silhouette and the shape of the lights, but here we have the first images of the finalized form.
The C-HR envisions a hybrid crossover coupe with angular styling that looks ready to take on the Nissan Juke. It's far sportier than a RAV4, and looks closer to how we'd imagine the next-generation Scion FR-S would look like if it were riding on a jacked-up suspension - with some show car elements thrown in for good measure, like a gloating roof, radical lighting and the usual absence of door handles and usable wing mirrors.
Of course, this being a Toyota concept, it packs a hybrid powertrain, although specifications did not leak out along with the images. Overall the form looks pretty striking, if decidedly unsubtle. We'll look forward to bringing you more as the Paris show rapidly approaches.
Toyota restructuring US operations, possibly moving to Texas
Sun, 27 Apr 2014According to multiple sources familiar with the matter, Toyota is poised to announce Monday that it is restructuring its US operations, which may include plans to relocate some of its operations to Texas. Toyota Motor Sales has been located in California since 1957, and is responsible for North American sales, marketing, and distribution for Toyota, Lexus and Scion. According to Toyota literature, its Torrance operations presently employs 6,156 workers and represents a $2.3-billion investment.
Workers in Toyota's Torrance offices were abuzz about the possible relocation to Texas. One young offspring of a Toyota employee even posted to Twitter that her parents warned about the upcoming move, and she said she's refusing to go.
Rumors at one point had Toyota settling in Richardson, TX, just outside Plano. But Autoblog talked to Richardson Mayor Laura Maczka, who said she would be thrilled if that were true, but has not heard anything on the subject. Autoblog also emailed with Bill Sutherland, a city councilman in Torrance, CA, who said, "To date the only info I have is what I have read in the paper expecting a press release Monday."
Toyota Aygo, Citro?n C1 to join Peugeot 108 in Geneva
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Just the other day, Peugeot took the wraps off the new 108. But its new city car, like the 107 it replaces, doesn't stand on its own. The 107 was a sister vehicle to not only the Citroën C1 but also the Toyota Aygo. So it should come as little surprise that, while Peugeot was the first to release photos and details on its version, Citroën and Toyota will also be on hand with their own versions when the veils lift on all three at the Geneva Motor Show.
We're expecting the new trio of budget-oriented hatchbacks to bear the fruits of individual efforts to distinguish themselves one from another more than their predecessors, which essentially looked the same save for different badges. But from the teaser image above, we'd venture that the Toyota version will be a further departure from the 108 than the C1 will be.
One way or another we'll have to wait and see, but for now you can view Toyota's teaser clip below, along with the press releases confirming the debut of both in Geneva next month.
