Up for sale is my 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad Edetion. I bought this truck brand new in October 2012 and due to some curveballs thrown my way in life I need to sell it. Its a non smoker, one owner, clear title. This is a truck identical to what would come off the showroom floor. Its MINT. Not a scratch or a ding anywhere on the vehicle. It just went in for its first scheduled service last month. I have only used the truck to commute to work and back. Its Black Pearl Metallic in color with the TRD Offroad package wich includes a rear differential lock, A-Trac, Bilstein Shocks, skid plates and much more including the towing package. Its a four door short bed with an 120v outlet in the bed, I have added a factory bed mat, an Access Limited roll up bed cover, and weather tech floor mats (originals included) and had the front windows tinted to match the rear. Its a very very sharp truck. It has the touch screen in dash CD player (non-entune) and a backup camera as well. Save your self a few thousand at the dealer and buy this one that is so close to brand new its rediculous. Cash in person or Cashiers check from a bank only. Toyota engineer warns automous cars could increase fuel use, urban sprawl
Fri, 18 Jul 2014An increasing number of people are starting to consider the potential downsides of a transition to autonomous cars. The FBI is already looking at them for the potential ill effects on law enforcement, and a scientist for Toyota is raising the possibility that driverless vehicles could actually be detrimental to the environment over the long term.
Ken Laberteaux, who studies future transportation for Toyota, thinks that autonomous cars could lead to more pollution, not less, says Bloomberg. However, Laberteaux's theory isn't so much based purely on science as it is considering behavioral and historical trends. "US history shows that anytime you make driving easier, there seems to be this inexhaustible desire to live further from things," said Laberteaux during a presentation at the Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco, CA, cited by Bloomberg.
Laberteaux's belief is that if commuters can make their drives easier, then they will be more willing to live farther away from the cities where they work. The end result would be more urban sprawl and increased pollution from the longer travel times.
Toyota Matrix not long for this world?
Thu, 18 Apr 2013According to a report from AutoGuide, Toyota doesn't have plans to replace the aging Matrix hatchback in the United States after this year. If true, the timing coincides with the replacement for the Corolla, on which the Matrix is based, with that car slated to get its first complete redesign since 2006 (2008 in the US market).
We'd love to tell you how many Matrix models were sold by Toyota in the United States last year, but the automaker chooses to bundle Matrix sales with Corolla sales, so we have no idea. That said, we have to assume sales of the hatchback don't contribute much overall to the total number of Corolla-based machines.
We're also unsure if Toyota will choose to exit the youth-oriented compact hatchback market entirely, or if the automaker will rely instead on its hybrid Prius line and Scion models like the xB and xD.
