Up for sale is a super clean, loaded, and low mileage 2003 Toyota Tacoma DoubleCab Prerunner TRD.  There has only been 1-Owner since brand new in 2003.  It was just traded into a Subaru dealership on a new car and we were able to purchase it right from them.  It has both clean Carfax and Autocheck Vehicle History Reports.  Carfax shows 24 service records, including many consistent oil changes.  This was a non-smoker truck and it runs and drives 100%!
I have offered and sold 65+ 1995-2004 Tacomas on eBay in the past year.

The exterior is in beautiful condition.  The "Black Sand Pearl" paint shines excellent!  The entire truck is very nice with only two minor flaws to mention.  There is a tiny ding in the front chrome bumper, and some rock chips on the hood.  The body is completely rust free, including the bottoms of the doors.  The entire frame and leaf springs were replaced through Toyota's nationwide frame recall.  The spare tire carrier recall was also just done by the Toyota dealership.  This comes with a 15 year factory-backed warranty.  The rear end is clean and dry, and there are no leaks underneath.  Even the wheels are completely free of corrosion.

The interior is absolutely mint.  The carpets, seats, dashboard, glass, and headliner are all in great shape.  There isn't any wear or tear to mention.  There aren't any smoke smells, burns, or marks inside.  All of the electronics are functioning properly.

This Toyota Tacoma has many nice features and options!

- 3.4L V6 Engine

- Automatic Transmission

- TRD Off-Road Package with Rear Differential Locker

- Ice Cold Air Conditioning

- Power Windows, Locks, Mirrors

- Cruise Control

- Keyless Entry

- Tilt Steering

- Dual Airbags

- Toyota Bedliner

- Hood Protector

- Alloy Wheels

- Sliding Rear Window

- Full Length Running Boards

- CD Player w/Cassette

- ABS Brakes

- Keyless Entry

This Tacoma runs and drives perfect as you would expect.  Everything works as it should.  The 3.4L 6-Cylinder engine starts instantly and runs great.  The transmission shifts very nice and smooth.  The truck goes straight down the road with no shakes, rattles, or pulls.  There are no exhaust leaks.  The brakes stop great with no pulsations as well.  It has 4 Brand New BF GoodRich Rugged Trail T/A tires that have zero miles on them!

I have 3 Keys, 1 Remote, 4-piece Toyota floormat set, the full owners manual set, clean 1-owner CarFax report, the full size spare tire, jack, tools, cargo net, and a clean/clear title.

Recharge Wrap-up: Model X pinch sensor update, Karma plans first store

Fri, Aug 26 2016

Tesla has improved Model X pinch sensor function in its latest over-the-air update. As we've seen, the pinch sensors already stop the falcon wing doors from completely shutting when they sense an obstruction. Now, though, the doors retract slightly after the sensors are triggered. While the pre-update doors didn't appear to do as much damage to human fingers as they do to various foodstuffs, it definitely looked uncomfortable, especially when one's hand is stuck in the partially closed door. Now, any pinch that does occur should be brief. See the updated sensors at work in the video above, and read more from Teslarati. Karma Automotive will move to Kawasaki's former headquarters in Irvine, California where it will also open its first store. The revival of the now defunct Fisker will sell its Revero plug-in hybrid through both dealerships and company-owned stores like the one planned for its new two-building campus. The property owner, Bixby, had planned to renovate the site, but now says Karma will make its own improvements. Bixby said it was seeking, "a progressive-minded tenant that would value the unique configuration," and appears to have found just that in Karma. Read more at Electrek, or from the OC Register. San Francisco is asking residents for help in expanding its subways. Using an online tool called Subway Vision, users can draw their own subway lines and stations that they'd like to see built and submit them to planners. Listening to the public is a useful tool for the city because, as Grahm Satterwhite, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency's principal planner, admits, "Transportation planners may be too close to a problem to see the solution." This approach allows the subway expansions to "reflect the vision of not just a few transportation planners, but of all San Franciscans," he says. Read more from FastCo.Exist. Toyota is continuing its commitment to Yellowstone National Park with a sustainable Youth Campus for environmental education. The automaker donated $1 million to Yellowstone for the facility, which is seeking Living Building Challenge certification. It will have onsite wastewater treatment for its locally sourced water usage, and will generate all of its electricity needs from photovoltaic panels, with excess to put back into the grid. The campus will have classrooms and residences for students and staff for its youth programs.

Toyota recalling 342k Tacomas due to faulty seatbelt pretensioners

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Toyota is voluntarily recalling 342,000 Tacoma Access Cab pickups, produced between 2004 and 2011. The wide-ranging recall is due to faults in the screws that attach the belt pre-tensioner to the belt retractor. There are concerns that the screws can loosen themselves over time, especially if the access door is opened and closed with too much force. It's important to note that the recall only covers the driver and front passenger seat, and is limited to just the Access Cab trucks. Other body styles aren't affected.
If the screws come loose, the pre-tensioner and retractor spring could separate from the belt entirely, which would be bad news in a crash. There's no mention of injuries or accidents due to the faulty pre-tensioners. Owners affected by the recall will be notified soon, and asked to come in for recall service.

Toyota's Bob Carter says far fewer stations needed in shift from gas to hydrogen

Thu, Feb 6 2014

Toyota's Bob Carter has been talking about green cars for years, but it's only been recently that his comments have really caught widespread attention thanks to his disparaging remarks about electric vehicle supporters like Elon Musk and Carlos Ghosn and optimism about hydrogen. Speaking at the opening of the Chicago Auto Show this morning, Carter said that Toyota has claimed the "pole position on CAFE," thanks to its deep hybrid bench. The company's green car cred will continue to grow because of its upcoming hydrogen fuel cell car, due out next year. Carter is relentlessly optimistic: "I truly believe fuel cells will fundamentally change how we feel about transportation," he said. The reason, Carter said, is that a hydrogen infrastructure will be easier to install than people think. He referenced a study conducted by the University of California (which we've heard about before) that found that California would only need 68 hydrogen stations to refuel the roughly 10,000 H2 vehicles that Toyota hopes to sell in by 2016 or so. That's a lot more than the nine that exist today, but the state has already approved funding for 20 new stations by 2015 and then up to 100 by 2024. Then he said this: "If every vehicle in California ran on hydrogen, we could meet refueling logistics with only 15 percent of the nearly 10,000 gasoline stations currently operating in the state." "We could meet refueling logistics with only 15 percent of gasoline stations currently operating in CA" - Bob Carter This made us wonder: if the refueling time and range are roughly equivalent between hydrogen and gasoline – Toyota's hydrogen car is supposed to be able to go 300 miles on a five-minute fill-up - then why has the market decided that there should be 10,000 gas stations in California and why would 1,500 be sufficient for hydrogen? "If the locations are optimized," he said, "we don't need 10,000 stations." For example, at major intersections, instead of three gas stations, you'd really just need a single hydrogen one. "There are a lot of questions about the infrastructure, but it's coming. ... It's a hurdle that we've got to climb but it's not as steep as some may imagine." Toyota's Mike Michaels, the national manager, media and public affairs at Toyota Motor Sales, then stepped in to point out that there are gas stations closing and admitted that there might be too many gas stations in California.
