35k Original Miles (and counting because it's a daily driver)

Autocheck is 100% clean. NO WRECKS. Bought in Lubbock, TX...stayed there it's whole life.
NO RUST.

I repeat...it's a TEXAS TRUCK, so you don't have to worry about RUST.

1st Owner had it bought it in Lubbock, TX in 2003 and kept it up until 2012 where he then sold it. 2nd owner kept it for 6 months until his wife made him give it up to by her a new Camry. I bought it from this gentleman and have put around 1500 miles on it.

EVERYTHING is original. Tires are 40% life and should be the original ones that came with the truck. (DOT says 2003 was the manufactured year. There is definitely some dry rot, but they still perform decently.

Exterior: 7/10
Interior: 7/10

Overall, there are some scratches and dings inside and out. Exterior shows numerous scratches on the bed as well as a few in the doors. Hood is clean, but roof of the truck looks like there is some light hail damage. NOTE no hail damage was seen on the hood of the truck or anywhere else. Interior is also fairly clean, but does have some scratches on the console where it looks like a CB or something was placed there that rubbed and scratched the plastic. Overall though, it's still in decent shape.

Missing: Left Front Mud Flap, Antenna.

I have personally driven this truck for 1500 miles and will continue to drive it until it's sold. 100% in town driving averages ~17 MPG. Highway at 75 MPH with the cruise control set averaged me 18.5 MPG.

Truck has power everything with Keyless entry, EVERYTHING WORKS, and I would trust this truck to drive anywhere. It also does have a TOWING package and bed liner.

I was going to put new tires on it, but I figured I would let the buyer decide what kind of tires he wanted on it.

If you quote NADA I will quote KBB.

KBB: Good Condition Private Party Value is $21,425.
NADA: Clean Retail is $17,250 (It's a limited without TRD...but NADA won't let you take TRD away)

Averaged is about $19,337.50...so I'm asking $19,500.
I know what these trucks are worth so please don't low ball me. I believe you will be hard-pressed to find a rust free truck with as low of miles as this one.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me through EBAY. Email my your phone # and I will call you if you would like to talk. If you need more pictures let me know too...I'd be more than happy to send some to your phone or email.

Thanks,
Bryce

Tougher than steel: Wood pulp could make lighter auto parts

Tue, Aug 15 2017

KYOTO, Japan — The global push among carmakers to make ever lighter vehicles is leading some auto suppliers in Japan to turn to what seems like an unlikely steel substitute — wood pulp. Japanese researchers and auto component makers say a material made from wood pulp weighs just one-fifth of steel and can be five times stronger. The material - cellulose nanofibers — could become a viable alternative to steel in the decades ahead, they say, although it faces competition from carbon-based materials, and remains a long way from being commercially viable.> Related: Jay Leno drives the Renew cannabis car — hemp you can't dent Reducing the weight of a vehicle will be critical as manufacturers move to bring electric cars into the mainstream. Batteries are an expensive but vital component, so a reduction in car weight will mean fewer batteries will be needed to power the vehicle, saving on costs. "Lightweighting is a constant issue for us," said Masanori Matsushiro, a project manager overseeing body design at Toyota. "But we also have to resolve the issue of high manufacturing costs before we see an increased use of new, lighter-weight materials in mass-volume cars."A NEW PROCESS Researchers at Kyoto University and major parts suppliers such as Denso Corp, Toyota's biggest supplier, and DaikyoNishikawa Corp, are working with plastics incorporated with cellulose nanofibers — made by breaking down wood pulp fibers into several hundredths of a micron (one thousandth of a millimeter). Cellulose nanofibers have been used in a variety of products ranging from ink to transparent displays, but their potential use in cars has been enabled by the "Kyoto Process," under which chemically treated wood fibers are kneaded into plastics while simultaneously being broken down into nanofibers, slashing the cost of production to roughly one-fifth that of other processes. "This is the lowest-cost, highest-performance application for cellulose nanofibers, and that's why we're focusing on its use in auto and aircraft parts," Kyoto University Professor Hiroaki Yano, who is leading the research, told Reuters in an interview. The university, along with auto parts suppliers, are currently developing a prototype car using cellulose nanofiber-based parts to be completed in 2020.

Toyota celebrates 30th anniversary of Land Cruiser 70 with Japan rerelease [w/videos]

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

It's a common refrain among auto enthusiasts to bemoan the current models being sold for being overly complex and expensive and to wish that automakers would just make vehicles like the old days. Sure, they might not have been as safe or efficient, but there was often a certain rugged simplicity that's gone today. Well, Toyota is actually doing it and thinks there's enough demand to put the Land Cruiser 70 back into production in Japan for its 30th anniversary. Sadly, it's only for one year.
The original Land Cruiser 70 served a long life in Japan from 1984 to 2004. Even today, the proven model remains in production in some regions abroad. People in its home country still love the vehicle though, and Toyota is brushing off the mothballs to give customers what they want. For the first time ever there, it's also offering the double-cab pickup version in addition to the traditional enclosed body. The company thinks that it can move about 200 of these classic trucks this year, which isn't too shabby for a vehicle that's three decades old.
Looking at the pictures above, these look like the same old Land Cruisers, but Toyota is updating them slightly to meet modern safety rules. The grille, hood and headlights are all tweaked, and they now come with airbags and anti-lock brakes. A 4.0-liter V6 is under the hood making 228 horsepower (170 kilowatts) and 266 lb-ft of torque (360 Newton-meters), and the only available gearbox is a five-speed manual. Part-time four-wheel drive is standard. If you're really afraid of getting stuck in the wilderness, locking front and rear differentials and a winch are available as options.

Italian coachbuilder wraps a modern-day Citroen van in a retro skin

Tue, Oct 6 2020

Italian coachbuilder Caselani resurrected an obscure, often-forgotten model from Citroen's past to offer van buyers an additional retro-styled option. Called Type HG, it's based on the current-generation Citroen Jumpy. One of the French carmaker's best-known vintage vans is the Type H, which was built with only minor changes from 1947 to 1981. It's aged into a sought-after classic that's popular as a food truck and as a camper from Paris to Sydney. Few realize Citroen planned to release a smaller model named Type G which looked almost exactly like the H but used an air-cooled flat-twin engine shared with the 2CV. Several prototypes were made, but the project was canned in favor of the 2CV-based, nine-horsepower AU van released in 1951. It's this little-known prototype that only exists in Citroen's official heritage collection and in the minds of the most indoctrinated French car enthusiasts that Caselani chose to bring into the 21st century. And, because the Type G (shown below) was a shrunken copy of the Type H from a design standpoint, making a body kit that fits the Citroen Jumpy was relatively simple. Caselani liberally borrowed styling cues from its modern version of the Type H, which is based on the larger Citroen Jumper sold as the Ram ProMaster in the United States. It adds a new-look front end with a vertical grille, chromed chevrons, and round headlights positioned as far out of the body as regulations permit, corrugated body panels, and a redesigned rear end. Whitewall tires are optionally available. Caselani offers the Type HG as a passenger van, a crew-cab van, and a panel van. Pricing starts at 29,400 euros before taxes are factored in, a sum that represents about $35,000 and that corresponds to a short-wheelbase panel model powered by a 100-horsepower, four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. Alternatively, motorists who already own a Jumpy can purchase the transformation kit on its own for 14,800 euros (about $17,500). For added peace of mind, Caselani pointed out the conversion was created with Citroen's input, and the brand authorized the kit. We know what you're thinking: what on earth is a Jumpy? Glad you asked! It's a van positioned in the middle of Citroen's commercial range. It slots between the Berlingo, which competes in the same segment as the Ford Transit Connect, and the Jumper, which is marketed as an alternative to the Ford Transit.
