If you like the 1997 Toyota Tacoma body style, this is the truck for you. This truck has a certified good frame from Toyota (I have the cert). There was a frame recall back in 2012 and most of the 1997's were bought back by Toyota. Also, truck just received a new head gasket due to internal coolant leak. It was not a total gasket blow-out that created a lot of excess heat. It was replaced as to not cause any issues during the sale. Truck is in excellent condition. No dents or scratches. Paint is original and in great condition. No accidents - body is in great condition. Interior is in great shape - no smoking vehicle. I am the third owner and the truck spent most of it's life in Alabama and was sold to a guy in Penn. He then sold it to me. Truck has a bedliner and a towing receiver, but as far as I know, it was never used for heavy towing (or no towing at all). I drive the truck everyday and it has not let me down. The reason I am selling is that I changed jobs and I need a more economical vehicle. Windshield recently replaced and the rest of the glass is in excellent condition. Everything works and air blows cold in the summer. Truck is for sale locally, so I may end the auctgion early if it sells. Truck is all stock except for the stereo which is a panasonic AM/FM/CD/MP3. This is a rust free truck - I repeat, this truck does not have rust nor any signs of rust. I have searched and this is one of the nicest 1997 Tacoma's for sale today. First Toyota unintended acceleration case headed for trial

Toyota is going to be back in the spotlight, as the first of its unintended acceleration lawsuits is headed for trial. This case covers a Los Angeles sushi shop owner, Noriko Uno. According to the what the family told The Detroit News, Uno only put about 10,000 miles on her 2006 Toyota Camry in four years. Uno was apparently afraid of high speeds, avoiding the freeway and taking a route home along LA's surface streets to avoid them.
On August 28, 2009, Uno's Camry suddenly accelerated to 100 miles per hour, eventually striking a telephone poll and a tree and killing her. The family contends that Uno attempted to step on the brakes and pull the emergency brake, neither of which brought her speed under control, while Toyota maintains that improperly installed floormats and driver error have been behind the majority of the 80 cases expected to be heard in court.
In Uno's case, The Detroit News is expecting the trial to focus on the lack of an override if the gas and brake pedals were pressed at the same time. Brake overrides were installed on Toyota's European fleet. The Uno family attorney will need to prove to the jury that it wasn't driver error that killed Noriko Uno.

Much like the station wagon was the shuttle of Baby Boomer generation, the minivan has been the primary means of transport for Generations X and Y. Just as the boomers abandoned the Country Squire, though, those kids that were toted around in Grand Caravans and Windstars are adults, and they certainly don't want to be seen in the cars their parents drove.

Japan considering offering free hydrogen cars because $30k incentives apparently not enough

There's no such thing as a free lunch. A free hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, though? It may become a possibility in Japan, says Automotive News. We know the Japanese government is being plenty supportive of hydrogen vehicles since it will provide about $20,000 worth of incentives to prospective customers of the $69,000 vehicle. And with local governments like Toyota City's Aichi prefecture supplying another $10,000, out of pocket costs could reach less than $40,000 for the Toyota hydrogen car. We don't know for sure that the 'free' H2 car will happen, but with Toyota starting sales of its first production FCV next spring (potentially named Mirai), it could happen. That would also spell good news for Honda, which will follow up Toyota's effort for its own hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. The case for the free car is still pretty tenuous. Automotive News, citing the Nihon Keizai business publication, reports that the Japanese government has thrown around the idea of subsidizing the vehicles outright to early adopters just to gain some momentum for this kind of zero-emissions vehicles. Heck, the government would even throw in free fuel for good measure. We'll see about that.
