Toyota Hilux**1988 Model year
I've put a lot of love in this truck, I don't want to sell it but I'm starting a new business and need the capitol.
This beautiful truck has been fully restored, carpet and seats removed the floor was coated with POR15, frame was in great shape but had under coating on it so we put it back a black stock style.
Wheels are the original JDM wheels which are a very think steal, layered wheels, lugs are extra long aluminum lugs, tires are brand brand new BF Goodrich All terrain KOs.
* Rear axle is 2004 Tacoma with push button Electric locking differential converted to 4.10 front and rear
* Front and rear axles just received a fresh Amsoil diff fluid
* Tacoma Axle is wider so front has received wheel spacers
*Turbo kit from 2l-TE received so it looks stock on the 3L motor. The 2lte had head issues, 3L does not have any of those issues and has a lot of power with the turbo added. Its a CT20 available anywhere state side or over seas.
* Any part can be found at the US Napa or Oreilly's due to the 2L diesels coming into the states years ago
*ARB front winch bumper with 8000 WARN winch, all less than 2 months old 2000$ set up ordered from Australia
*No rust and a new color coded paint job 4 months ago
* The 2.8 3L motor was getting about 25 MPG but was slower so I added the turbo kit, still getting 25mpg but now I have loads of power.
* Comes with seals kit, fuel filter, all gaskets for the whole truck, oil filters, two timing belt kits, tools, book, air filters ect..ect. ect.
* Never had a problem with the truck, they say its a 500,000 mile truck with no maintenance and I believe it!
* all new suspension all around, rancho shocks and steering stablizer all found at Napa auto parts, oreillys or auto zone ect. fronts are 86 Toyota and back struts are 84.
* Solid front axle with swivels just like the older models, discontinued on the Toyota Hilux in 1997.
* All terrain Jack, painted to match
* New spare tires All Terrain KO
* Fresh oil change, air filter, valve cover gasket.
*** The truck gets amazing mileage, It has about 160 Horsepower and at least 240 LBS Torque, you can get more power by turning up the gas knob and you can get better fuel economy by turning down the gas but I have it at a happy medium and it has loads or power as is and can tow, climb or anything! This is a very unique truck you'll never want to sell this truck and it will not depreciate like new vehicles.
---- AC--- The truck has the factory AC as an option but there is no compressor at this time, you'll have to source one if you want AC.
Paint is fresh, PPG high quality paint, base with clear coat, no rust before or now, there's one or two small scratches nothing you'd notice right away. Call me if you'd like more details.
Feel free to give me a call on the truck, you'll receive a clean and clean US title upon purchasing the vehicle. I have a huge investment into this truck, I don't expect to get all of that back but if you want the ultimate vehicle that can tow your boat, be used as a daily driver, last forever this is it! My number is 612-964-7609

Did Lexus make a BMW? Or did BMW make a Lexus? This and other 2017 surprises
Fri, Dec 29 2017It's that time of year again. The calendar is about to reach its end, Star Trek Cats 2018 is about to take its place, and I'm reflecting about all the cars that graced my driveway this year or summoned me to exotic places. You know, like Stuttgart or Phoenix. In 2017, I drove at least 57, and as I perused the list of them, I started to notice a common refrain: "This car surprised me." Most were pleasant surprises, but there were a few head scratchers and facepalms for good measure. In both cases, it was generally the result of car companies seemingly trying to break out of an existing mold. Nowhere was that more apparent than the pair of Lexuses slathered in Infrared paint: The LS 500 that left me this week and the LC 500 that was my favorite car of 2017. Though Lexus has been trying to shake its crusty, gold-packaged reputation for some time now, its efforts always seemed like an old man choosing Hollister to redo his wardrobe after realizing it hasn't been updated since 1987. I fell in love with the LC, genuinely floored by its near-perfect take on the GT. It's characterful in sound, appearance and tactility. It was at home in the city, in the mountain and on the open road. It was both comfortable and thrilling, and after driving the mechanically related LS 500, I can report that the LC's talents aren't an outlier. The LS 500's turbo V6 may make different noises than the LC's naturally aspirated V8, but it nevertheless invigorates the cabin when the car is placed in Sport+ mode. The steering is truly communicative, body motions are kept in miraculous check, and I absolutely forgot I was in an enormous luxury limo ... and a Lexus one at that. It was everything that the BMW 530e was not. I drove that on the exact same roads and was utterly bored the entire time. Generally doughy, lifeless steering, more distant than Planet 9. And no, the plug-in hybrid powertrain had nothing to do with that. At least it shouldn't. The Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid I also drove this year proves that, as do the Hyundai Ioniqs, which are surprisingly adept and fun little cars regardless of what powers their wheels (Hyundai + hybrid = fun really blew me away). I would drive that Lexus LS F Sport over the BMW 5 Series any day of the week, which seems like a shocking thing to say in relation to either car. While Lexus is seemingly breaking out of its old crusty mold, BMW seems to be climbing into one.
Toyota is world's top-selling automaker for second year in a row
Sun, 26 Jan 2014Toyota is the top-selling automaker in the world. Again. Still. With total reported sales, including those from subsidiaries, of 9.98 million in 2013, Toyota's performance was enough to outpace rival General Motors by around 270,000 vehicles. That's a 2.4-percent gain over 2012, and it makes Toyota the top-seller two years in a row. Still, the gap between the top three is shrinking - Toyota held a 460,000-unit lead in 2012.
GM sold 9.71 million vehicles last year, a four-percent increase, coming in second place ahead of Volkswagen, which sold around 9.5 million. According to Bloomberg, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said his company managed to win the sales race while also remaining more profitable than GM or VW.
It's going to be another interesting year in 2014 as the three behemoth automakers vie for the title of World's Largest. Toyota has predicted that it will increase sales in 2014 to 10.32 million - which would make Toyota the first automaker ever to surpass 10 million global sales - though General Motors and VW are expected to again fight for the lead in the massive Chinese market. Stay tuned.
Is 120 miles just about perfect for EV range?
Tue, Apr 15 2014When it comes to battery-electric vehicles, our friend Brad Berman over at Plug In Cars says 40 miles makes all the difference in the world. That's the approximate difference in single-charge range between the battery-electric version of the Toyota RAV4 and the Nissan Leaf. It's also the difference between the appearance or disappearance of range anxiety. The 50-percent battery increase has zapped any lingering range anxiety, Berman writes. The RAV4 EV possesses a 40-kilowatt-hour pack, compared to the 24-kWh pack in the Leaf. After factoring in differences in size, weight and other issues, that means the compact SUV gets about 120 miles on a single charge in realistic driving conditions, compared to about 80 miles in the Leaf. "The 50 percent increase in battery size from Leaf to RAV has zapped any lingering range anxiety," Berman writes. His observations further feed the notion that drivers need substantial backup juice in order to feel comfortable driving EVs. Late last year, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), along with the Consumers Union estimated that about 42 percent of US households could drive plug-in vehicles with "little or no change" in their driving habits, and that almost 70 percent of US commuters drive fewer than 60 miles per weekday. That would imply that a substantial swath of the country should be comfortable using a car like the Leaf as their daily driver - with first-quarter Leaf sales jumping 46 percent from a year before, more Americans certainly are. Still, the implication here is that EV sales will continue to be on the margins until an automaker steps up battery capabilities to 120 or so miles while keeping the price in the $30,000 range. Think that's a reasonable goal to shoot for?
