The shifter is new, the fork thing that supports it is new with the CNC bushings. The TRD transmission mount holds it steadily in place. The clutch, throughout bearing, release fork, c-clips, all have 4500 miles on them and the car has been drag raced at the track once with only 2 launches. A BOSS cruise control hub is in place, but I removed the cruise control so it does not work currently, but it was working prior to removal. -The interior panels for the driver, center console was originally the easily scratched rubbery material, so I removed them and sprayed them with this Storm Gray color. It looks nice and many other members have done the same color from SF.com . Even my 2006 daily car cant get this cold! -Tail lights are the 93-96 style, and so are the headlights. I opened them up and sprayed them the same color as the interior pieces, so they have the 97-98 loook! The sidemarkers are also the 97-98 model style. The driving light is a blueish white HID and the foglights are a light yellow to slightly green color. Exterior: The car is painted Alpine Silver, and it has never been repainted. All the Vin numbers are there. This car does have some scratches, mostly front bumper, a few small dings/ chips .

Toyota's Euro Aygo spied in prototype form

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

The five-door version of the next-generation Toyota Aygo, a Euro offering cloned by the Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1, has been caught out on the town wearing all black. Facelifted early last year, predictions are that the next version of the city car will be slightly lower and wider than the current car, with improved ergonomics and materials. Based on what little can be seen for now, a new intake and headlight treatment should be on the menu in front, with taillights placed higher on its backside.
A three-door version is expected, but a gasoline-hybrid model is also rumored, along with power and fuel economy improvements to the three-cylinder engine that presently puts out 67 horsepower and 69 pound-feet of torque.
We should see it next year, along with the new Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108.

Toyota GT86 14R-60 shows how to do lightweight at a steep price

Sat, 11 Oct 2014

Toyota is finally making good on its Griffon concept from last year with this limited-edition 14R-60 that basically hops through the Toyota Racing Development catalog to imagine the ultimate lightweight GT86 (the continental relative to the Scion FR-S/Subaru BR-Z). Unfortunately, it's not coming stateside, and even if this modded Toyobaru were coming here, you might not want to pay the rather steep price.
Like the concept, the 2.0-liter boxer engine still makes the same 197 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. However, the drivetrain isn't entirely untouched thanks to a new air filter, engine oil cooler, a reinforced clutch, lightweight flywheel, and mechanical limited-slip differential from TRD. The six-speed transmission is also tweaked, with different gearing in first and second and an altered final drive ratio.
To keep things planted the suspension gets a new coilovers, a V-shaped tower brace in the front and another in the rear. Improved deceleration comes thanks to upgraded brakes. There also are even more goodies on the outside, including a complete body kit that includes a carbon-fiber roof and massive rear spoiler. The stock wheels are replaced with 18-inch forged magnesium units, as well.

2014 Toyota Aygo marks the spot [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

Following the leaked pictures we showed you yesterday, we have the full battery of images and info of the all-new Toyota Aygo, in addition to our gallery of live photos from the floor of the Geneva Motor Show.
Like its cousins from Peugeot and Citroën, the Aygo foregoes a diesel engine in favor of a highly efficient gas powerplant. The 1.0-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder turns out 68 horsepower and 70 pound-feet of torque. When it hits the market, it'll be with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed, X-Shift automated manual. The former will help the Aygo return 57.3 miles per gallon and hit 62 miles per hour in 14.2 seconds. Opting for the X-Shift variant will net drivers 56 mpg, with 62 arriving in a leisurely 15.5 seconds.
We'll admit, aside from the fuel efficiency, there's nothing terribly great about those numbers. Still, with its compact dimensions - it's only 136 inches long - and a curb weight of no more than 2,000 pounds, it should prove tossable in the bends.
