Up for sale with NO RESERVE  at a very reasonable price, is a very rare opportunity to own an un-modified perfect condition Pearl White Toyota Supra SE with 41,000 miles. First bidder can own it.  It has an automatic trans.  It is wingless, and a hard top so no flex in the body and no worries about a leaking targa top.  Fantastic condition !  It has been garaged its whole life and I am the 2nd owner.
I purchased it from a Car Collector who bought it new in CA, who was a 68 year old Executive at MGM Studios.
The headlights are as clear as the day it was new. Even the orig. mats have always been covered with a top mat so they are look new.  The pic of the mat looks dirty but it is not, it's the way the carpet was brushed when I took the top mats out for the picture.  I bought an extra set of  OEM Supra Mats when I bought it just for safe keeping. I will include the mats with the car. (2 sets)   Also I  have a Toyota Bra that was never installed on the car, still in the package.  The car comes with the custom Covercraft car cover that I kept on the car even when inside.
It has never been wrecked. Only minor imperfection is a pea size dimple in the hood from a hickory nut that fell on it.  It is stock and I have all the orig. paper work. The car has a special set of rims that were offered thru the Dealer for a limited time back in 95.. Tires are very good but are 8 years old.  Serviced and maintained very well. All the original  paper work is in the glove box.
The seats look new. I have had seat covers on it since I got it. Rear seats never sat in.  It is perfect in every way.
We have owned it going on 5 years and just bought a Lexus IS 350.  That is the reason we are selling it. It lost its spot in the garage to the Lexus.
I will answer questions or send more pics if you want them. I can help with shipping OR drive it to you possibly.  OR you can fly into Memphis International Airport and drive her home. I live 30 minutes from Memphis, TN and can pick you up in the Supra.

Does Scion's LA concept presage a US Auris?

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

When the doors open at the LA Auto Show in a few weeks, Scion will be on hand to showcase its new iM Concept. But considering what little Toyota's youthful brand has revealed about the concept so far, it's led to rampant speculation. And the prevailing wisdom seems to point towards a production iM arriving as a Scion-badged version of the Toyota Auris.
For those unfamiliar, the Auris is to European (and other) markets essentially what the Matrix is (was?) to ours: a hatchback version of the Corolla. The model line was first introduced in 2006, looking in its first iteration like an overgrown version of the contemporary second-gen Yaris, and was replaced with the current model in 2012. It's available as a five-door hatch or wagon, with a range of gasoline, diesel and hybrid powertrains available.
If the rumors - spurred by the similarity of the iM concept's nose depicted in the teasers - prove accurate, and public reception to the idea ends up spurring Toyota to put it into action, it wouldn't be the first overseas Toyota brought over as a Scion. The Scion iQ was sold as the Toyota iQ overseas years before it arrived here.

NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.

Toyota unveils two new small displacement engines

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Toyota introduced a pair of brand-new engines in Japan today, that it says will eventually spawn 14 different variants by 2015. Where these two engines stand out in today's world, is that neither mill boasts direct injection, and both are naturally aspirated.
The larger of the two is a 1.3-liter, while the smaller engine, a 1.0-liter, was developed in collaboration with Daihatsu. What makes these two unique is that they both use the Atkinson cycle. Now, we aren't going to bore you by explaining just what this is - there's Google for that. Suffice it to say, Atkinson engines are highly efficient, but that efficiency comes by sacrificing power. That's why they're so popular in hybrids, which can offset the power losses.
This focus on fuel efficiency extends throughout the new engines, which also benefit from tweaks like a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system and a trick intake port, while the 1.3 employs Toyota's iE variant of variable valve timing. Both engines can be fitted with stop-start tech. According to Toyota, when fitted with stop-start the 1.3 should provide around a 15-percent bump while the 1.0-liter will increase economy around 30 percent, when they arrive on the road.
