For sale is a 1995 Toyota Supra with 49,800 original Miles. The title is clean, clear, & on hand. The car has a clean Carfax/Autocheck (both available upon request), has never been in a wreck and has all VIN stickers still in place. The car runs excellent and has no pending issues. There are no boost leaks and the car pulls very hard. The turbo is healthy with no oil leaks or shaft play. The motor is also very healthy with all built internals. Everything works: A/C, heater, power steering, power windows, mirrors etc. Car does not have cruise control anymore (due to rolling anti-lag setup). The targa does not leak at all. The car runs on e85 only and has no 93 octane tune. It was recently tuned by Larry Prebis at Sound Performance and made 960rwhp @41psi on a Mustang Dyno (Later made 1015rwhp on Dynojet). Here’s the video of the car getting tuned:

The paint is in excellent shape and the interior is in great condition as well. The wheels have no curb rash and the engine bay is very clean. The car is in a heated garage all the time and is detailed regularly. Never driven in the rain or snow, in fact, I hardly drive it all, I take it for a spin once every few weeks to keep everything operating properly and that's it. I haven’t had the free time between work and family to enjoy the car as much as I should and that is why I’m selling it. Car was never launched, never brought to the track, always babied and never really driven hard. Oil has been changed every 500 miles with Valvoline VR-1 20w-50 Racing Oil + OEM Toyota filter.

The price is $55,000 due to the high-quality parts that are on the vehicle. I've got the title in hand with no liens. No trades. No part-outs. Serious buyers are welcome to stop by and inspect the car (located in Chicago). If for some reason the pictures below do not suffice, I will take additional high-resolution pictures of any part for serious buyers.

Please text (224) 260-1608 or pm me with any questions. The price is more or less firm for now. Call me only if you're serious. I’m sure I am missing some things on here but here is the mod list:

Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell coming to US Northeast in 2016

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Looks like someone was able to read the future back in July. That's when rumors first circulated that Toyota's upcoming fuel cell vehicle will be called the Mirai. Today, Toyota president Akio Toyoda confirmed the name alongside plans to build out a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the US Northeast.
In Japanese, mirai (??) means "future," which is a fitting name for a car that Toyota believes represents the direction the auto industry will go in the coming years. In a promotional video announcing the name, Toyoda said, "For [Toyota], this isn't just another car. This is an opportunity - an opportunity to really make a difference. And making a difference is what Toyota is all about."
To help that future come into existence, Toyota CEO Jim Lentz also disclosed the vague outline of a fuel cell infrastructure investment that Toyota and partner Air Liquide will make in a five-state Northeastern corridor that consists of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. The Mirai will be available there in 2015 and Toyota is going to build 12 stations in and around New York and Boston to support the launch. More details will be available later.

GT Academy returns, and why Gran Turismo 6 demands a pedal/wheel setup

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

The path to become a racing driver is a difficult one. It requires starting early, with karts, and then building up through the years and if you're really, really good (and really, really lucky), a team will notice you and sign you up. Or, you know, you could just become really good at Gran Turismo, and beat out other like-minded fanatics for a seat in the GT Academy.
The racing school, which culls its students from the ranks of Gran Turismo players has already pumped out successful racers, most notably, Lucas Ordoñez, who has a second and third-place finish under his belt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the 2014 GT Academy kicking off April 21 and running through June 16, you could have a chance to be the next Ordoñez.
That won't be easy, though. We recently had a playthrough on GT6 the proper way - with a racing seat, pedals and a steering wheel, complete with column-mounted paddles. (Our setup looked just like the one you see above, though that image is from E3.) In other words, it was as close to driving an actual car as most console games can get.

Automakers not currently promoting EVs are probably doomed

Mon, Feb 22 2016

Okay, let's be honest. The sky isn't falling – gas prices are. In fact, some experts say that prices at the pump will remain depressed for the next decade. Consumers have flocked to SUVs and CUVs, reversing the upward trend in US fuel economy seen over the last several years. A sudden push into electric vehicles seems ridiculous when gas guzzlers are selling so well. Make hay while the sun shines, right? A quick glance at some facts and figures provides evidence that the automakers currently doubling down on internal combustion probably have some rocky years ahead of them. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is a prime example of a volume manufacturer devoted to incremental gains for existing powertrains. Though FCA will kill off some of its more fuel-efficient models, part of its business plan involves replacing four- and five-speed transmissions with eight- and nine-speed units, yielding a fuel efficiency boost in the vicinity of ten percent over the next few years. Recent developments by battery startups have led some to suggest that efficiency and capacity could increase by over 100 percent in the same time. Research and development budgets paint a grim picture for old guard companies like Fiat Chrysler: In 2014, FCA spent about $1,026 per car sold on R&D, compared with about $24,783 per car sold for Tesla. To be fair, FCA can't be expected to match Tesla's efforts when its entry-level cars list for little more than half that much. But even more so than R&D, the area in which newcomers like Tesla have the industry licked is infrastructure. We often forget that our vehicles are mostly useless metal boxes without access to the network of fueling stations that keep them rolling. While EVs can always be plugged in at home, their proliferation depends on a similar network of charging stations that can allow for prolonged travel. Tesla already has 597 of its 480-volt Superchargers installed worldwide, and that figure will continue to rise. Porsche has also proposed a new 800-volt "Turbo Charging Station" to support the production version of its Mission E concept, and perhaps other VW Auto Group vehicles. As EVs grow in popularity, investment in these proprietary networks will pay off — who would buy a Chevy if the gas stations served only Ford owners? If anyone missed the importance of infrastructure, it's Toyota.
