There is some minor bumper damage on both sides of the "mouth" of the bumper (some paint chipping and spider cracks). Also on the drivers side wheel well, there is some damage to the front bumper and fender liner. I would recommend replacing the bumper with a '97-'98 OEM Supra front bumper. The car was repainted about 3-4 years ago (stock red color), and the engine bay was also repainted during the engine build. The interior is in very good shape, but there is some peeling of the leather on the steering wheel, some wear on a couple interior panels, and a bit of wear on the rear seat."

You are bidding on an original Twin Turbo 6 speed Supra with a clean and clear title. Reason for sale is that I am in a financial hardship at the moment which forces the sale of my beloved MKIV Supra. This is my second MKIV I have owned (the first being a white '94 6 speed at a much tamer 626whp). I spent five years working hard to get back into another one and I finally did this year. This Supra is similar to the Supra's you see on the TX2K13 youtube vids, it's no joke.

A little back ground on the car:

I purchased this car in February of 2012 while being deployed overseas. The block was built by Accelerated Performance and the head was built by Head Games (both very reputable in the Supra community). The end goal for this car was a 1000whp + street monster that was not completely torn apart, caged, and removed from the "streetable" category. I took delivery of the car in May of 2013 and began the quest for traction and utilizing the HP by ordering a Weld RT-S drag pack, cleaning it up, installing some little goodies, and retuning. The car made 1128whp 876ft lbs at one time while still in Miami on 37psi without an intake, more agressive timing, and probably on a more reliable and higher Ethanol content. John Reed was the man of choice for tuning duties and was able to extract 1040whp 823ft lbs on 35psi with intake and filter on with more conservative timing. Keep in mind that this isn't even pushing the threshold of this turbo and setup. with E98 or C16 and more boost, 1200+ is well obtainable and 1300+ is possible (a small shot of spray wouldn't hurt to help). The car is remarkably tame driving around besides the exhaust (which sounds amazing), multi-disk clutch chatter, and an aggressive rear diff (noticeable only when rounding corners at low gear in low RPM's). This is a perfect example of a top dog Supra in street form. The best part about it is that nearly everything is NEW.

There is easily $60k in modifications alone to duplicate this setup and that's not including the cars price nor the labor.

CONS:

- Exterior is an 8/10. Damage on front bumper, some stress cracks in the paint on the front if it and some damage on driver side underneath from losing a fender liner piece. Was going to replace with a '97-'98 front bumper and that's all it needs to be a 10/10.

- Interior is an 8/10 minus a worn steering wheel and shifter panel. Trunk area is also stripped out. The interior is a steering wheel and a few dash panels away from being a 10/10

Buyer pays for and arranges shipping of the vehicle.  I will accept Paypal, Cash, or Bank Transfer.

Toyota working on cars that hover above the roadway

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world, but it's not content simply building and selling conventional cars - it's been at the forefront of numerous advancements in ground transportation. It is widely credited with advancing the cause of hybrid propulsion, and alongside Audi and Google, is among the first automakers seriously testing self-driving cars. We could go on, but the news here is that Toyota is reportedly developing vehicles that hover above the road surface instead of rolling along it.
The news comes from Hiroyoshi Yoshiki, one of Toyota's tech gurus, who revealed at Bloomberg's Next Big Thing summer in San Francisco that the company is working on hovering cars - ones that travel just above the road surface, but don't actually fly in three-dimension space.
According to The Verge, a spin-off of our own sister-site Engadget, Yoshiki refused to elaborate on what the project entails and how far along it is. He was speaking along acting NHTSA chief David Friedman, who lauded such advancements as a "great taste of innovations to come," but stressed the significance of more concrete improvements to conventional automobiles - like inter-car communications to keep vehicles from colliding on the highway - as more relevant to today's industry.

Eiji Toyoda dead at 100

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Toyota has had number of chiefs over its 76-year history, but none ever served as long as Eiji Toyoda. The younger cousin of the company's founder served as president of the automaker from 1967 to 1982 and as chairman of the Toyota Motor Corporation for another ten years following the unification of the manufacturing and sales divisions.
During his 25 years at the helm, Eiji Toyoda (pictured above in 1967) was credited with establishing the company's headquarters in Toyota City, spearheading the development of the Prius, expanding production overseas for the first time, launching the Lexus brand and turning Toyota from a minor player into one of the largest automakers in the world.
Even after his retirement in 1992, he remained an honorary chairman and close advisor to his successors, and chaired the company's museum. He died of heart failure, ending a 100-year life that started on September 12, 1913, before the company that bore his family's name (albeit slightly modified) had even started building automatic looms, let alone automobiles. We extend our condolences to the Toyoda family and our congratulations on an accomplished life.

Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"
