1991 TOYOTA SUPRA TURBO TARGA in excellent condition with only 91,800 miles on it.  This car is absolutely beautiful!! As you know, these cars in this condition are very rare and the '91 and '92 Supra Turbos are the most desirable of the mk3 body style.  This is a rust-free car that has been pampered by its original owner and me.  It spent the majority of its life in Idaho and now is with me in Fishers, IN.  It is all original with the exception of an HKS 75mm Turbo exhaust (considerably better than stock), and a HKS 75mm downpipe.  (I still have the original downpipe if you want to take it back to stock.)  The car is accident free! If you are looking for a '91 Toyota Supra Turbo, you will have a very difficult time finding a nicer one than this.

ENGINE
The car comes with the original 7mgte turbo intercooled inline 6-cylinder engine.  The engine is completely stock.  At 78,000 miles, timing belt and major service was done.  The engine is smooth, quiet and strong.  There are no leaks.  The 5 speed shifts smoothly, and the clutch engages very smooth.  The car runs strong!

SUSPENSION
The suspension is very tight.  The front end has a new power steering rack, ball joints and tie rod ends.  Needless to say, it drives like new.

EXTERIOR
The red paint is the original color.  The paint is in excellent condition.  There is no rust to be found anywhere on the car.  The tires are in very good condition.  All lights work properly.  The exterior and interior are totally original, with no modifications.  The car has newly tinted windows to preserve the interior and gives the car a very nice look.

INTERIOR
The interior is very clean.  It has the original original CD player and cassette player.  The leather seats are in very good condition.  The AC blows super cold and the heater works perfectly.  This car is fully loaded with all the options!  All the weather stripping is in great condition.

This is an absolutely beautiful car, and is a pleasure to drive.  This is one of the cleanest '91 Supra Turbos in the Midwest.  If you are looking for one of these, you will be extremely happy to have it!

Which sinister Scion FR-S would you buy?

Tue, May 17 2016

Look beyond the utility. Look beyond the amenities, the infotainment, the hidden storage cubbies, and the 72-way adjustable seats. Yes, even the seats. Outside all the fluff of today's cars, there's a blank canvas waiting for an artist; cars can really come alive with a few tastefully placed modifications. These two Scion FR-S sports cars surely fall into that category, and when they both turned up on eBay, we figured we'd ask the question — which would you rather buy? The track-centric red car or the brutally simple black car ? Internet, you be the judge. The "widebody" look — with its outrageous fender flares and visible rivets—isn't for everyone, but this 2013 Scion FR-S happens to pull it off quite well. According to the listing, the pumped-up fenders, splitter, and additional aero bits are courtesy of legendary widebody purveyor Rocket Bunny. Overall, the racy body mods add a significant twinge of aggression to the once docile FR-S... a notion that's echoed underneath the hood. The heady Scion FR-S leverages an HKS supercharger system and exhaust, paired with a set of Buddy Club racing coilover shocks, Bee-R wheels wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN rubber, and a new engine management system. All in all, this looks to be one fierce track and street monster. RELATED: Check Out This Wild Toyota GT86 Wagon Concept But whereas the red car is a shout, the black car is a growl. Confident, powerful, yet restrained. The black 2013 Scion FR-S sports a sultry Varis Arising 2 body kit with carbon fiber accents lining its front lip and boot lid, as well as a brilliant set of projector headlights and Tom's taillights. The icing on the cake is the set of Work M1R gunmetal grey wheels, which come fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no supercharger in play here, but the Scion's 2.0-liter boxer engine does breathe a bit easer thanks new ceramic coated exhaust headers and a high-flow catalytic converter. It can also handle a bit better too, courtesy of sporty Cusco Street Zero 3 coilover shocks. If we're honest, both are quite jaw-dropping in their own unique styles. But which do you prefer? Toyota to recall 185k cars globally, including Yaris

Thu, 04 Jul 2013

Toyota has announced it is recalling a total of 185,000 vehicles worldwide for a power steering issue. Yaris and (overseas) Vitz models built between November 2010 and March 2012 could suffer a short circuit in their power steering control module if water gets inside. Should that happen, the power steering could fail, increasing effort when turning. The recall also includes the Verso-S and Ractis built from August 2010 to August 2011. The recall covers 130,000 vehicles in Japan and around 22,450 in Europe.
Only 74 units are being recalled in the United States.
Toyota says if the fault occurs, the vehicle will display the Electronic Power Steering warning light on the dash and a buzzer will sound. The automaker will alert owners by mail and dealers will replace the power steering control module free of charge. You can read the quick press release on the recall below for more information.

Jim Lentz exposes more details behind Toyota's move to Texas

Fri, 02 May 2014

Toyota's North American CEO Jim Lentz has already given us a rough idea of what prompted the company's surprise move to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX from its longstanding headquarters in Torrance, CA. A new story from The Los Angeles Times, though, delivers even more detail from Lentz on the reasoning for the move, what other cities were considered and why the company's current host city wasn't even in the running.
Of course, one of the more popular reasons being bandied about includes the $40 million Texas was set to give the company for the move, as well as the state's generous tax rates. According to Lentz, though, the reason Toyota chose Plano over a group of finalists made up of Atlanta, Charlotte and Denver, was far simpler than that - it was about consolidating its marketing, sales, engineering and production teams in a region that's closer to the company's seat of manufacturing in the south.
"It doesn't make sense to have oversight of manufacturing 2,000 miles away from where the cars were made," Lentz told The Times. "Geography is the reason not to have our headquarters in California."
