For Sale is a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo Hardtop with 109,620 miles. Car is in excellent condition and runs great. Car was originally purchased by me from its original owner (elderly couple)back in 2001 with 80k miles. I enjoyed the car for a couple of years and I was forced to sell it once I entered the service and was deployed in 2004. After years of looking for it from the guy I sold it to, I was lucky to find the vehicle in March 2012. With no hesitation and knowing the condition the vehicle I proceeded to buy my old car back. The car has been sitting in the garage at my parents house for the past year due to me being station in the southwest. My plans were to have the car shipped to me but I was too afraid of it the car been damaged in any way during shipment. As you can see it the pictures the car is in perfect condition inside and out. There is no rust anywhere on the car and the only blemished is the cracked lip on the front spoiler as seen on the pictures. The car has been modified with a built bottom end with forge je pistons, ported and polished head with toda valve springs, oem valves and retainers. The turbo has been upgraded with a 6262 turbo with a 3 inch custon downpipe and catback exhaust. I also still have stock turbo and downpipe that will come with the car. The car is also has Aeromotive Fuel pressure regulator with upgrade lines, gauge, 550cc RC Injectors with a Lexus AFM, a common upgrade for these car. The car is also running with a Original Spearco 3" Intercooler with hard pipes, HKS 3000 pipe and an Original HKS SSQI blow off valve. Car has an upgrade clutchmaster stage 3 clutch that feels and drives like a stock clutch. The car is rolling on Polished Mk4 wheels (No curb rash, and mountedon BFGoodrich Tires w/ 90% life left) Car runs and drives like new. Mechanically the car is in outstanding shape, the only item that needs attention is a exhaust leak on the downpipe after the turbo ( Can be heard on the second video) other than that car needs nothing and is ready to go to someone who will enjoy it like it should. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. I can be reached at 915-996-4060. Thank you. V/r Damian

Toyota and Mazda set to expand partnership
Mon, May 11 2015Toyota and Mazda are already teaming up for the Scion iA and Mazda2, but that partnership might just be the beginning. Reuters reports the two Japanese companies could expand their work together, with Toyota chipping in its experience with both fuel cells and plug-in-hybrid tech, and Mazda contributing its know-how in regards to its Skyactiv line of engines. The report cites a pair of unnamed sources that are "not authorized to discuss the matter publicly." The move, on the surface, is certainly appealing for both parties. Mazda has very little experience with hybrids (remember the Ford-rebadged Tribute Hybrid?), let alone something as advanced as a fuel-cell vehicle. Teaming with Toyota, arguably the world's greatest hybrid manufacturer, would give it a serious leg up. For the Japanese giant, meanwhile, a partnership with Mazda could expand the economy of scale for the Mirai FCV's tech, while Skyactiv engines would do well in replacing the base engines in cars like the Corolla, Camry, and RAV4. What are your thoughts? Would an expanded partnership between Toyota and Mazda make sense? Can you think of any drawbacks? Have your say in Comments. Toyota explains what names like Camry and Yaris mean
Mon, 20 Oct 2014Ever wonder where automakers get the names for their cars? You're not alone. The sitcom Seinfeld opened Episode 94 - the one where George Costanza buys a Chrysler LeBaron instead of a Volvo - with a bit about nameplates like Integra, Supra and Impreza. Toyota, clearly, is not exempt from choosing evocative but enigmatic names for its models, and now the Japanese automaker is taking us through the etymology of some of its nameplates.
Names like Supra may require no clarification, but what about Camry? That comes from the Japanese word kanmuri for Crown (which is, incidentally, the name of another Toyota sedan).
Yaris? According to the company, it's "an amalgamation of words from Greek mythology and German. In Greek mythology, 'Charis' was a symbol of beauty and elegance. Toyota swapped the 'Ch' with 'Ya' - German for 'yes' - to symbolize the perceived reaction of European markets to the car's styling."
Toyota GT86 engineers explored shooting brake and sedan variants, are they still in the cards?
Wed, 13 Mar 2013According to the Toyota UK blog, engineers for the automaker were so excited developing the GT86 coupe that they investigated producing a whole family of models based on the rear-wheel drive sports car. And at least one engineer - product chief Tetsuya Tada - still hopes it can happen, even if not everyone at Toyota is onboard. Tada: "Actually we tried to do this secretly but the executives found us out. They said: 'What are you doing? Will you please focus on the coupe.'"
Those mooted variants included both a four-door sedan and a shooting brake. Why? Aside from the pure excellence of a lightweight, brilliantly handling hatchback, Toyota was keenly aware of the fact that it may need to spread the cost of development out across several models. Tada says that's part of the reason why it was so easy to create the convertible. The company knew from the outset that a softtop version was in the cards, and built the machine's structure to accommodate having the roof sliced off.
Tada also made mention of the already-announced collaboration between Toyota and BMW. The engineer said that the GT86 was particularly helpful because it demonstrated just how successful a product conceived and designed by two different companies can be. While he didn't say exactly what Toyota and BMW are up to, it's clear the two are looking into a number of possibilities. It's an interesting read with a lot of
