1988 Toyota Supra Turbo Only 49k miles Perfect condition, No Rust or other damage!!!
1988 Toyota Supra Turbo Mark III Rare find, All Original, Very Low Actual Miles – 49676 miles Japanese specialty cars are on the rise, and we are very proud to be representing this Mark III Supra. It was a California car that has always been stored indoors and kept up on it service. The Mark III Supra Turbo was one of the most powerful cars of the time. The 7M-GTE inline 6 cylinder 24 valve engines put out 230 hp in stock configuration. Many “tuners” love these solidly built engines and are getting big hp numbers out of them. The Turbo powered cars featured a more robust R154 six speed transmission. These cars featured many of the state of the art electronic systems of the time. Like 3 channel ABS and the TEMS adjustable suspension. Along with the double wishbone suspension, these cars are very enjoyable to drive. Another great feature of the Mark III is the removable Targa roof panel. This Supra is all original inside and out. It has never had any damage, and the interior is pristine. The paint is original save for the front bumper which was repainted at some point. The only real wear that I can point out is on the leather shift knob, which you can see in the photographs, the shift boot and the e-brake boot, all easily replaced. All the body panels fit properly and have the VIN code stickers on the panels. The rubber seals and gaskets are not torn or cracked. Truly you can tell the prior owner kept this car as their pride and joy. The spare tire and jack come with the car, and don’t look like they have ever been used. Only upgrade to this car is the CD player, alarm and dealer installed Chrome factory wheels. Besides this, it is all original. I had the privilege of driving one of these Supra’s when they were new, and it made a lasting impression on me. When we came across this car I was very excited to take it for a drive, to bring back the memories. Getting in the car I remembered how solid and well built they were. The engine fired right up with no smoke or hesitation. Pulling out on to the highway it quickly accelerated through all the gears with no hick up’s or shudders. Truly a well built car of the time. I operated all the features on the car including the TEMS active suspension, and found everything to be as new. While many cars today have a lot more power, this car is still impressive in acceleration and performance. Japanese cars are following the trend on the German and American classic. We are seeing the rise of the affordable classic going up every month. We feel this is excellent example of a Japanese classic. Please feel free to contact us with questions. Honda Accord barely edges Toyota Prius as California's best-selling car
Wed, Feb 18 2015The Toyota Prius definitely still matters, at least to car buyers in California. The long-lived hybrid was the state's second-bestselling vehicle in 2014 by moving 71,210 units across all of its variants, including the Prius C. The Toyota was the leader there in 2012 and 2013 but lost the sales crown this time – just barely – to the Honda Accord, which sold 71,578 examples. The results in the Golden State illustrate just how different the auto market there is compared to the rest of the country. Prius sales slumped last year nationwide with a drop of 11.5 percent to 207,372 examples sold. However, according to the LA Times, the model's numbers ticked up two percent in California in 2014. Taken by itself, the standard hatchback model would have been the sixth-bestseller there, with 39,036 units purchased. While the Toyota showed modest growth, it wasn't enough to fend off the Accord's 17 percent year-over-year jump in the state, though. According to the Los Angeles Times, the rest of the California top ten included the Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, Corolla, Ford F-Series, CR-V, Nissan Altima, Sentra and Chevrolet Silverado, respectively. That list was quite a departure from the nationwide bestsellers in 2014, which was led by the F-Series, Silverado and Ram pickups. The Camry was the country's foremost car on the list in fourth place overall to beat the Accord in fifth. The Prius didn't break into the ten biggest sellers in the US last year. Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?
Thu, 25 Sep 2014People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
Toyota investing $30 million in Indiana for more Highlander production
Sun, 28 Jul 2013Indiana seems like the place to be if you're looking for work in a car factory. In May, Subaru announced plans to invest $400 million in its Lafayette, Indiana plant, creating 900 new jobs in the process and increasing capacity to 300,000 units per year. Now, Toyota has announced plans to invest $30 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant, 170 miles south of the Subaru factory, which also builds the Camry.
Toyota's investment will create an additional 200 jobs and increase the factory's volume by 15,000 units. Toyota announced an investment in the plant in February of 2012 that bumped volume up from 300,000 to 350,000 units. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, as the Princeton facility is officially known, produces the recently revised Toyota Highlander, the Sequoia and the Sienna. It employs 4,500 people, and this announcement represents Toyota's tenth production increase in under two years.
