2006 Toyota Solara Camry Se Sport 2 Door Coupe Auto Red!! on 2040-cars
Granbury, Texas, United States
This is our 2006 Toyota Solara that we bought new. It has 80,898 actual miles. We are non smokers and no one has ever smoked in this car. We have always kept the car in the garage and the paint is in great shape. This one great car for gas mileage, around 33 to 35 mpg on the highway. This car has nearly all the options that were offered at that time except for leather seats and sun roof and includes both of the remote door locking and unlocking fobs The options include rear spoiler, automatic transmission, power windows - one touch up and down on the drivers side, power door locks, power driver seat, am/fm/cd, auto dimming rear view mirror, auto on/off headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights, driver, passenger and side air bags, very cold ac, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, delay wipers, steering wheel controls for the radio and trip computer (includes gas mileage, distance traveled and how far you can go before refueling) outside temperature indicator and compass. We have serviced this car regularly and everything works perfectly. We have Michelin tires that are in great shape with lots of miles left. There are a few scuffs and small scratches on the exterior from normal use that are not very noticeable. With the exception of a couple of very small spots the interior is very clean and not worn at all. We love this car and the only reason we are selling it is that we need a 4 door car for grandkids. Please email with any questions or to set a time to take a look at it in the Granbury, Texas area. |

Lost power in a winter storm? Just hook up a Toyota Prius like this guy did
Thu, Jan 9 2014The Toyota Prius' battery pack just got something like a five-star rating from a truly seasoned professional – a 50-year aircraft technician. Bob Osemlak, who'd served more than three of those five decades with the Canadian Air Force, brought electricity back to his home in December during a heavy ice storm thanks to his gas-electric car. His ingenuity allowed him to turn on lights, furnace, refrigerator and the TV. The Thornhill, Ontario resident lost power for nearly a day on December 21 – not nearly as much as millions of other people hit by the recent storm - and so he still set about using his Prius for backup power, according to EV World. His ingenuity allowed him to turn on lights, furnace, refrigerator and the TV. Being an aircraft technician for so long brought Osemlak the ability to home-brew his V2H set-up that he urges other people to avoid, for safety reasons. He had planned for a potential power outage by installing an outlet on his furnace and, when the storm struck, he ran a cord through the basement window to the car. During the nine hours Osemlak used his Prius for backup power, the car's fuel gauge only reduced less than one bar, or roughly the equivalent of a gallon of gasoline. It wasn't the first time Osemlak had played with his vehicle. In the 1960s, while stationed in Winnepeg, Manitoba, he created a car starter. Every hour, the car would start up and run for 10 minutes to avoid being frozen solid in frigid winter temperatures. TMG's super Lexus LS Sports 650 gets track tested
Thu, 05 Sep 2013The people at Toyota Motorsport GmbH have been responsible for the Japanese automaker's motorsports efforts since the 1970s, but since Toyota pulled out of Formula One after the 2009 season, the tuning shop has been developing a super sedan based on the Lexus LS called the Sports 650. Details on TMG's first road car have been scarce, but XCAR was recently invited to drive the 641-horsepower Lexus on track.
Here's what we know: the Sports 650 has enough power to sprint to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds, tops out at 199 mph, weighs over two tons and utilizes LFA brakes. Oh, and its twin-turbo V8 bellows like an AMG V8. That last part isn't surprising when considering TMG could become Toyota's in-house tuning arm - like AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. As for the bespoke body kit, fender flares and stacked exhaust pipes? They fit the car well and even remind us a bit of Lexus' other high-performance sedan, the IS F. Currently there are no plans for the Sports 650 to be made into a production car, but we doubt TMG is devoting this much effort developing the LS into a road-rocket for nothing.
Check out XCAR's video below to see the AMG-fighter wrung out on track, and then ponder what could be if TMG were let loose to fiddle with other cars in Lexus' lineup. Now that's something we could get used to!
Mazda3 sales off to rocky start despite massive critical acclaim
Tue, 18 Mar 2014Like just about every other auto publication we've seen, we loved the way the Mazda3 drove when we reviewed it a few months ago, but those glowing reviews apparently aren't helping its sales. The new compact may be falling victim to a sales war between the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, with the newcomer getting squeezed out by those with more established names and bigger marketing budgets.
According to Automotive News, Mazda3 sales have fallen every month since last August, and its sales are down 27 percent in the first two months of 2014. It certainly isn't helping that the entire compact segment is down five percent this year as well.
The biggest problem for the new model seems to be its price compared to rivals. Mazda is not offering the incentives that are on the hood of competitors. With the previous generation, the company offered more than $2,700 on the hood to move them out, but the current model only carries about $1,233 in markdowns, according to AN.
