I am selling my 2004 Toyota Solara SE Convertible. It has under 62,000 miles and is super clean. Comes equipped with power windows, locks, tilt, cruise, intermittent wipers, AM/FM stereo with CD player, viper remote start, ice cold air conditioning, and data center that figures various fuel economy settings. It also has a black parade boot that fits over the top and has only been on the car two times. The tires are high end Nokian WR tires that really give it a tight sports car type ride. These are typically $200 each and are usually on higher end foreign luxury cars. Car is in excellent mechanical condition and needs nothing. Paint is bright and shiny with the exception of a few scratches on the bumpers and a couple of scratches on the left side. None of these can be seen unless you are close and looking for them. You will not be disappointed, this is a great value. If this car was on a dealer lot it would be listed for at least $12,900.00. My reserve is well below that. If you decide to purchase the car and require shipping, it is your responsibility to set up the shipping but I will certainly help with the logistics and getting it loaded. I do reserve the right to end this auction early as it is for sale locally. Call Tom with any questions. 574-340-3076.

When a Ferrari and a Toyota GT86 get jiggy, strange things happen
Fri, Jul 8 2016Swapping V8s into small Japanese cars is not new. In fact, swapping V8s into small sportscars from anywhere is not new. From the original Cobra to the modern FR-S and BRZ, big V8 power in a light, lithe chassis has been delicious combination rivaling the Reese's peanut butter cup. People familiar with these swaps know that American iron is the preferred source for large-displacement grunt, but Ryan Tuerck and Gumout have taken a different route, specifically from Italy. Replacing the 2.0-liter flat-4 of this Toyota GT86 is a Ferrari F136 V8. Unfortunately that's about the only detail we really know about this project. The F136 was used in the F430, California and 458 Italia, and all with varying displacement and output. So we don't even know which of those variants this engine is. If it came from a California, that'd at least make the front-engine location easier to fabricate. No matter though, it's still a Ferrari engine in a small car, and that's awesome. And Donut Media, the company that produced the video, promises more details down the road. In the meantime, enjoy this video preview of the project. Toyota produces millionth truck in Texas
Thu, 19 Sep 2013After going online in 2006, Toyota's San Antonio, Texas truck plant has just built its one-millionth vehicle, the 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition you see above. The plant originally focused on just the Tundra pickup, but the smaller Tacoma started rolling off the line there in 2010, as well.
Fittingly, the 1794 Edition (a new premium trim level for 2014) pays homage to the property on which the Toyota plant now resides - a ranch that was founded in 1794. Scroll down for the official press release for the plant's milestone, and be sure to check out the full gallery of Tundra 1794 Edition images as well.
Toyota Prius sets a different kind of Nurburgring lap record [w/video]
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Scroll down the leaderboards of Nürburgring lap times and you'll see mostly racing cars, supercars and sports cars. Delve deep enough and you'll eventually get to hatchbacks and sedans, albeit the most performance-focused of their kind. But a hybrid? Sure, the Porsche 918 Spyder posted the top time for a street-legal series production car, and it's technically a hybrid, but we're talking about another kind of hybrid here. We're talking about a Toyota Prius.
That's right: the Prius just set a lap record around the Nordschleife. But it wasn't for the lap time. In fact, miles per hour barely factored in (except for staying above the minimum 37-mph average speed mandated on the vaunted racing circuit). No, this was about miles per gallon.
Toyota took one of its Prius Plug-In hybrids to the Nürburgring, topped up the battery, put on a set of low-rolling-resistance tires and put automotive journalist Joe Clifford behind the wheel with a mandate to use as little fuel as possible. After one second shy of 21 minutes, the Prius completed its lap having used just five tablespoons of fuel.
