I am selling my 2000 toyota sienna. Theres nothing wrong with it mechanically. The car has 230,000 miles. The engine was rebuilt by toyota of little falls nj at 110,000 miles. This was in 2004 or so. They should still have it on file if you need to see it. So the engine only has 120,000 miles. Ive been driving this car for a couple of years now and nothing major has gone wrong with it. It drives smooth, no shaking at high speeds, no misfiring, smooth transmission, no engine light, or oil burning. Tires were bought about 12,000 miles ago. Theyre in good shape. Now i want to be completely honest so there are no surprises. These are the things that are wrong with it: -right window motor does not work, so the window does not go up or down. (easy fix, motor is 40 dollars on ebay) - windshield is crack - from what i hear i think theres a hole in the muffler - cosmetic damage to right fender, and throughout the car - am/fm radio does not work, all you get is static. Toyota recalls 690,000 Tacoma trucks for rusty leaf springs, fire risk
Mon, 29 Sep 2014Toyota has announced that it will be issuing a recall of 690,000 Tacoma pickups from model years 2005 through 2011. The affected vehicles include both the four-wheel-drive model and the two-wheel-drive PreRunner (but not the standard 4x2 pickups), which may have a rather serious problem with their rear suspensions.
In some cases, corrosion and stress could cause one of the three or four leaves in the rear suspension's leaf springs to fracture. While the trucks can still be driven with a broken leaf, Toyota is concerned that it could move out of position and impact other components in the rear of the truck, with a particular focus on the fuel tank. Needless to say, but a piece of metal continuously impacting anything, let alone the fuel tank, is cause for concern.
As of this writing, there have been no reports of crashes, injuries, fires or deaths due to this problem, although that won't stop Toyota from informing all affected customers of the issue. Those 690,000 owners will need to report in to dealers for inspections and, if necessary, repairs.
2013 Toyota RAV4 earns 'poor' rating in IIHS small overlap crash test [w/video]
Thu, 11 Jul 2013When the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tested a batch of SUVs in its small overlap frontal crash test earlier this year, it held off on putting the Toyota RAV4 in the blender because the new, 2013 model was due to arrive shortly after the test. The new crossover might be better than it was before, but it could still only manage a rating of "Poor" in the test that has been a bugbear for a number of manufacturers.
Among other issues, the IIHS noted that the steering column moved seven inches to the right causing the crash test dummy to practically miss the airbag, the dummy's left foot was trapped in deformed sheetmetal and the dummy's head hit the instrument panel.
The 2013 RAV4 earned the Top Safety Pick rating by scoring well in the Institute's four other tests. A good score in this particular test would have earned it the Top Safety Pick+ rating that is so far only claimed by the 2014 Subaru Forester and 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in the SUV category. Toyota Aygo stars in 'invisible driver' prank
Sat, 14 Jun 2014We love a good automotive-themed prank. Rémi Gaillard remains a favorite, although maybe we should take a closer look at MagicOfRahat, another online prankster. Rahat, who has developed a bit of a reputation for blending in with car seats, giving the impression that there's no one behind the wheel, has taken his talents to Europe, in a new video for Toyota.
Dressed to look like the seat of the new Toyota Aygo, Rahat goes about town freaking out tollbooth operators, valets, fast food servers and even receiving a bit of unwanted attention from the police. The result is, as is usually the case with this prank, pretty darn amusing. We were kind of hoping he'd pop up and give his victims a fright, as he did in his Halloween video, but alas, that wasn't to be.
