2002 Toyota Supercharged TRD Sequoia. This was a show car in the 2003 SEMA car show. Featured in Dec. 2003 Truckin's SUV magazine. Lets start with the TRD Eaton positive displacement blower that boosts the intake by 7 psi. That puts this 4.7 L V-8 up to 353 hp and 359 lb-ft at 5,200 rpm. For bringing this Sequoia to a stop it has Stillen 15-inch rotors in the front with AP Racing four-piston calipers. Has a Hotchkis handling package, 2 inch lowering springs from Eibach and Toyo Proxes S/T tires (P295/45R20) on Colorado Customs 20 inch Yuma billet wheels. The TRD Luxury Sport seats are wrapped in Classic Soft Trim's two-toned leather. Has smoke tinted windows and a Webasto Stratos 749 Full Feature Moon Roof. On the outside is a custom color treatment with metallic silver on the lower panels and cobalt blue on the upper, accented with maroon pinstriping, which was done by the legendary Santini. Front has upper and lower Billet grills. Exterior trim items include molded lighted steps from ATS Designs, Muth mirrors with LED turn signals and a Wings West spoiler. This Sequoia is barely broken in with only 70,000 miles. Lets keep in mind the SEMA show was 10 years ago, so this Sequoia does have a few minor scratches here and there and two of the Colorado wheels have a very minor case of curb rash. The show stopping audio system has long been removed leaving this SUV with a stock Toyota radio. All the leather and carpet is in great condition. A/C blows cold and all electronic door locks, windows and seats work perfectly. Overall this Sequoia is great shape, has extremely low miles, runs flawlessly and you certainly wont be dissappointed with this unique Sequoia. I have described this to the best of my ability. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. This is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Reserve is set at $8500. |

2015 Toyota Camry set to circle NASCAR track near you
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Toyota recently introduced the all-new 2015 Camry for the street, so it follows that it should want to promote its new bread-and-butter sedan by putting it out on the racetrack as well. And that's just what it's done here with the release of the new Toyota Camry for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
The new Camry represents the first reskin of the standard stock car chassis since the Gen-6 model was introduced in 2012. Toyota's Calty Design studio worked closely with series organizers to determine which parts could be redesigned to more closely resemble the new production model, and what you see here is the result. Since it is based on the same control chassis as all the others, the Camry's skin is applied over a steel tube frame and powered by an old-school 5.86-liter pushrod V8 mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
Although the idea of a Japanese automaker in American stock car racing didn't initially get the warmest reception from some of the good ol' boys when it first entered the series back in 2007, it has by now become a staple of the NASCAR circuit. After all, it's hard for even the most patriotic of racing fans to argue with the US-built Camry's ranking as one of the most American cars by content on the market.
Toyota GT86 CS-R3 rally car presages for-sale customer racecar
Thu, 31 Jul 2014Rallying may enjoy a very strong association with all-wheel drive, but it wasn't so long ago that the World Rally Championship was populated by cars that slipped and slid across gravel and tarmac using rear-wheel drive. One of those was the Toyota Celica. While the little Celica eventually joined the gravel-spewing masses with an all-wheel-drive rally car, Toyota is returning to its rear-drive rally roots with a modified version of the critically acclaimed GT86.
Called the CS-R3, the new model boasts all the necessary changes to turn the diminutive twin of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ into a car capable of tackling the tough, twisting paths that are so routinely conquered by the world's rally cars. That means, of course, the CS-R3 has gotten a power bump.
Expected output sits between 240 and 250 horsepower, thanks to a new racing exhaust and manifold, as well as other changes. The ECU has been replaced with an item a bit more suited to racing, while the compression ratio has also been adjusted to boost the output.
Next-gen Toyota Tacoma to debut at Detroit Auto Show
Thu, Dec 4 2014Toyota's confirmation comes on the heels of General Motors' successful launch of its own midsize pickups. The next generation of the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck will be revealed in January at the Detroit Auto Show, a top executive confirmed Thursday. Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota, offered no other details, but the new version of the pickup is expected to have significant upgrades compared with the aging model on sale now. Our spy shooters caught a prototype testing this summer, and rumors of the new generation have been swirling for months. We've also previously reported that Toyota is planning to ramp up production next April at a factory in Mexico that builds the Tacoma. Toyota's confirmation comes on the heels of General Motors' successful launch of its own midsize pickups, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, which have garnered awards, positive reviews and solid sales since they arrived in showrooms this fall. It's unclear how large the new Tacoma will be, especially considering that the Canyon and Colorado flirt with fullsize territory. The Tacoma was last updated in 2012, and the segment has changed dramatically since then with the addition of the GM trucks. Another Tacoma competitor, Honda's aging Ridgeline, is also expected to re-launch in 2015, which would leave the Nissan Frontier as the oldest truck in the field. Tacoma sales have slipped 4.1 percent to 140,757 units this year, though they posted a 3.3-percent gain in November. Meanwhile, Carter also said Lexus will reveal two performance vehicles, though he didn't elaborate. "I'll leave it at that, but I promise you'll enjoy it," he said coyly. Lexus just showed the LF-C2 convertible concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
