You are bidding on a 1996 Toyota Rav4 with only 99'800 miles finished in Sequoia Green Metallic over Blue Multi cloth.  1 owner since 1998.  It offers good gas mileage and great utility.  Ebay no longer provides free Autochecks to prospective buyers so I have provided it for you.   It's just below the next series of pictures. There's also a video, an in depth description and generic photos from all angles.  Title is in hand and clean and clear of liens.    I do not have a buy it now price, but feel free to contact me with offers (none lower than the current bid).  I'm not a dealer, so there's no hidden fees or extra taxes associated with the sale.  What you bid, is what you pay. This auction is NO Reserve.

I took lots of photo's and a video of the car so that you can feel comfortable bidding.  If you read my description, view every picture, watch the video and study
the Autocheck, you will be just as knowledgeable about the car as anyone who's seen it in person.  Also if there's anything you're unsure about,  please don't
hesitate to ask.  I'll usually answer the same day.

Video
Basic walk around of the car showing exterior and interior features and accelerating from 0 to highway speeds

Exterior
The exterior is in good condition.  It does have dings associated with being a car with nearly 100k miles, but nothing to major.  The tires are newer and all 4 match.  All the glass is good with no nicks or cracks in the windshield.  The headlights and tail lights all work with no issue.  Please study the pictures.

Interior
The interior is in very good condition, with no rips or tears.  Those are the original floor mats you see pictured.  Everything works as it should without issue like the power windows, radio etc.  It has cold A/C and hot heat.  The jack is there inside the cargo area.   The rear seats fold for easy storage.    Be sure to watch the video.

Mechanical
Mechanically it’s in solid shape. Recent ignition system work. There's no warning lights on the dash.  The transmission shifts through all gears and the engine pulls strong.  No smoke from the tail pipe.  I'd trust driving this car anywhere.  It really runs good.

I'll Probably recall a few things so be sure check the bottom of the listing for updates!!!!

As you can see I have 100% positive feedback. I have never wronged any one on eBay before. If you win the car and find at the time of pickup that any thing listed in this auction is untrue I WILL NOT HOLD YOU OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE. BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!! I would prefer the car to be picked up within 7 days of auction close. If you would need any more time than that I would have to require a $500 deposit through paypal.

The auction ends Monday May 5th at 8:30 pm central time.  So don't forget to bid!!

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.

The Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake Concept is real

Fri, May 6 2016

As a two-door wagon the shooting brake exists at the unusual but captivating intersection between practicality and sportiness. This Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake Concept is no different – it's a standard GT86, with no mechanical alterations save the grafted-on wagonette roof and hatch. It's fully functional, too, having turned some laps on Toyota's test tracks. It even has the blessing of Tetsuya Tada, the father of the Toyota 86 and its Subaru BRZ and (now rebadged) Scion FR-S, who's been protective of the original GT86 concept to the point of strenuously resisting any serious power upgrades. This isn't the first shooting brake concept we've seen from the Toyobaru twins, but it's the first Toyota-badged one. Subaru brought the Cross Sport Design Concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. So how did the GT86 Shooting Brake Concept happen? The story, as Toyota tells it, involves the company's Australian design team. They created a 1/4-scale clay model of the shooting brake, and showed it to Tada when he visited in late 2014. He was so impressed, Toyota says, that he had his hand-picked craftsman in Japan bring the idea to full-scale fruition. The Australian design team, in the outdoor-loving spirit of their country, immediately thought that the longer roof would be perfect for carrying surfboards and other unwieldy sports equipment. And it would be. Meanwhile, Tada and the rest of the Toyota corporation want to tamp down expectations. It's a design study, the company says, and it's just "testing the waters." Toyota won't rule anything out, and Mazda recently surprised everyone with the MX-5 RF's unusual and attractive targa model. Maybe in a world where Mazda felt confident enough to introduce the RF, Toyota can be daring enough to bring a sporty wagon to the masses. We can hope, and maybe if we all make enough noise together Toyota will make it a reality.
