Hi Everyone and WELCOME to my auction!
For your consideration, I have my privately-owned 2001 Toyota Rav4 TYPE L with ALL WHEEL DRIVE. I'm listening to all offers, so please don't hesitate to contact me.
I've owned many cars, including many Toyotas, and this little SUV has been my most reliable vehicle to date. It runs and shifts smoothly, has NO check engine lights on, does not burn any oil, has no known leaks and good tires. The AWD drive system works flawlessly, the AC blows nice and cold, the heat works fine and the CD player has a nice, rich sound. I'm only selling her to make room for a new car. The mileage of 149,986 will be a little higher when the car is sold as I use it as my daily driver. The car also has tinted (safety etched) glass and a super-clean cloth interior. Lastly, the car was professionally detailed TODAY and the oil change was just done.
The only shortcomings are as follows: The power door locks work intermittently, the rug has some minor wear by the driver's side feet, plastic hood pull handle is missing (but the hood opens just fine) and the exterior shows the typical wear (scratches/dings) one might expect from a 12 year old vehicle.
The NY inspection is current, the title is clean (in my name), and the car is ready for its next owner.
Please email me for more info, or to schedule a test drive. I am located within 15 minutes (or less) of the following bridges: The Verrazzano, The Outerbridge, the Goethals and the Bayonne.
TERMS: A $250 NON-Refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end. Full payment is due within 7 days of auction end. If payment terms are not met. seller has right to offer car to other interested parties. Non paying bidders will be reported to eBay.
Disclaimer: the car is being sold AS-IS, Where is, with no guarantee, expressed or implied. Though I've described the car to the best of my ability, I am not a professional appraiser and highly recommend personal inspection/test drive before bidding.
Thanks for looking and God bless!

Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values
Tue, 18 Mar 2014We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
Toyota investing $30 million in Indiana for more Highlander production
Sun, 28 Jul 2013Indiana seems like the place to be if you're looking for work in a car factory. In May, Subaru announced plans to invest $400 million in its Lafayette, Indiana plant, creating 900 new jobs in the process and increasing capacity to 300,000 units per year. Now, Toyota has announced plans to invest $30 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant, 170 miles south of the Subaru factory, which also builds the Camry.
Toyota's investment will create an additional 200 jobs and increase the factory's volume by 15,000 units. Toyota announced an investment in the plant in February of 2012 that bumped volume up from 300,000 to 350,000 units. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, as the Princeton facility is officially known, produces the recently revised Toyota Highlander, the Sequoia and the Sienna. It employs 4,500 people, and this announcement represents Toyota's tenth production increase in under two years.

Toyota unveils two new small displacement engines
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Toyota introduced a pair of brand-new engines in Japan today, that it says will eventually spawn 14 different variants by 2015. Where these two engines stand out in today's world, is that neither mill boasts direct injection, and both are naturally aspirated.
The larger of the two is a 1.3-liter, while the smaller engine, a 1.0-liter, was developed in collaboration with Daihatsu. What makes these two unique is that they both use the Atkinson cycle. Now, we aren't going to bore you by explaining just what this is - there's Google for that. Suffice it to say, Atkinson engines are highly efficient, but that efficiency comes by sacrificing power. That's why they're so popular in hybrids, which can offset the power losses.
This focus on fuel efficiency extends throughout the new engines, which also benefit from tweaks like a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system and a trick intake port, while the 1.3 employs Toyota's iE variant of variable valve timing. Both engines can be fitted with stop-start tech. According to Toyota, when fitted with stop-start the 1.3 should provide around a 15-percent bump while the 1.0-liter will increase economy around 30 percent, when they arrive on the road.
