I am selling my 2009 Toyota Rav4, Limited Edition. It is a great everyday driver and family vehicle with good mpg. It has been driven nearly every day since we bought it about a year ago. We have had no issues with it. It was driven to OBX last fall. I love this SUV but really need third row seating.

The interior is in great condition. It has not been smoked in. All options work properly.  No rips or stains in the leather. No stains in the carpet. There are small little imperfections in the carpet but most are hidden under the mats. It gets cleaned out and detailed regularly. It comes with WeatherTech floor mates for driver, passenger, and second row of seating. The navigation system is awesome and works perfectly. The backup camera is also a great feature.

The exterior of the car is in great condition. There are a couple minor door dings but no signs of rust. There is a small dent above the driver side door handle and a ding in the right rear quarter. No other dents that I am aware of.  There are also a few small scratches in the black part of the driver’s door.  The front left rim also has some scuffs. The tires were replaced earlier this year.  The exterior is also cleaned regularly, typically every other week. The only modification made to this SUV is tinted front windshield and front doors.

The car is mechanically sound. There are no signs of leaks. It drives great and AC blows ice cold. Not aware of anything that needs to be replaced.  It has been garage kept, regularly cleaned and well maintained.

Please e-mail with any questions. I also have multiple pictures I can send on request and welcome anyone that would like to see it in person.

No expressed or implied warranties, sold as is.

New drifting world record set in Toyota GT86

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

We have entered a drifting arms race. Last year, BMW smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest drift by hanging the tail out for 51.3 miles around a wet skid pad in an M5 at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina. That beat the previous milestone of nearly seven miles. Now, Bimmer's record is up in smoke as well and is in the possession of a Toyota.
German driver Harald Müller pummeled the old record to drift for 89.55 miles around a 0.15-mile (235.5-meter) course in Samsun, Turkey, in a Toyota GT86 (or Scion FR-S as it's known in the US). According to the Guinness World Records website, it took him 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to manage the achievement. Sit back to watch a few minutes of the German's two and a half hours behind the wheel with the tail out.

2013 Toyota RAV4 earns 'poor' rating in IIHS small overlap crash test [w/video]

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

When the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tested a batch of SUVs in its small overlap frontal crash test earlier this year, it held off on putting the Toyota RAV4 in the blender because the new, 2013 model was due to arrive shortly after the test. The new crossover might be better than it was before, but it could still only manage a rating of "Poor" in the test that has been a bugbear for a number of manufacturers.
Among other issues, the IIHS noted that the steering column moved seven inches to the right causing the crash test dummy to practically miss the airbag, the dummy's left foot was trapped in deformed sheetmetal and the dummy's head hit the instrument panel.
The 2013 RAV4 earned the Top Safety Pick rating by scoring well in the Institute's four other tests. A good score in this particular test would have earned it the Top Safety Pick+ rating that is so far only claimed by the 2014 Subaru Forester and 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in the SUV category. There's a press release below with more details and a video of the test.

Heavily updated 2015 Toyota Camry to bow in New York

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

Looks like the new, "more emotional" Toyota Camry designer Kevin Hunter talked about back in January is going to arrive very soon, with news that Toyota's bread-and-butter sedan will be getting an update in just a few weeks time at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
"On April 16 at the New York International Auto Show, we will make an important announcement about America's best-selling car, the Toyota Camry," said Curt McAllister, Toyota product news manager, in an emailed statement. Considering the high-profile nature of the NYAS - not to mention the competition that will be shown there - it makes sense that Toyota would choose to unveil something as significant as a major refresh at the Javits Center.
We wish we had more to tell you than this, but unfortunately, that's about all we've got to go on at this time. Of course, we'll have much more for you during the lead up to NYAS, including any leaks of the refreshed Camry. Stay tuned.
