DESCRIPTION: 2008 Toyota Rav4 Limited 4wd V6. The vehicle has all options with the exception of leather seat trim and third row seat. The vehicle has every available power option including a power moonroof. The vehicle is also equipped with the upgraded JBL sound system. The vehicle is also equipped with the powerful and efficient 3.5 liter V6 engine and 5 speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy ranges from approximately 30 mpg on the freeway and mid 20's in town. The vehicle was purchased new at Sunshine Toyota in Battle Creek Michigan during July of 2008 and we are the original owners. The vehicle was maintained only by the Toyota dealer and all service records will be provided. I have a clear lien free title in hand. CONDITION: The vehicle has been garage stored it's entire life. The interior is in excellent condition and was professionally detailed this past month. There are minor scratches on the drivers side of the hood and the front bumper cover near the front license plate location. I think the scratches would buff out as they are minor and hard to see without close inspection. There are also some scratches on the middle of the spare tire cover. See photographs for details. Potential buyers are welcome to view the vehicle in Coldwater Michigan. Please contact me a day or so in advance to set up a meeting time. The remainder of the vehicle is in very good condition with all factory glass in place and chip free. The tires are 50% or less. I would estimate 12,000 tread life remaining. I do not require a deposit, however, the sale should be completed within 7 days of the auction close unless prior arrangements are made. 2015 Toyota Prius C is still colorful, still gets 53 mpg
Wed, 19 Nov 2014Few vehicles can match the affordable fuel economy of the $19,000, 53-mile-per-gallon Toyota Prius C, and that fact isn't likely to change for 2015, as the Japanese company has issued a moderate refresh of its sub-compact hybrid.
As mid-cycle refreshes go, this is a pretty standard affair, with a larger grille and tweaked LED headlights at the front of the Prius C, and more expressive taillights at the back. Toyota made some minor changes in the cabin, updating materials throughout, but not fiddling too much with the overall level of equipment.
Aside from those modest changes, this is the same fuel-efficient five-door, retaining its 1.5-liter, 73-horsepower, 82-pound-foot four-cylinder, while an electric motor tosses in an extra 26 ponies, for a total system output of 99 horsepower. Along with the 53-mpg highway rating, the C will return 46 mpg in the city.
Honda may recall up to 1M vehicles for airbag issue, following Toyota's lead
Mon, 16 Jun 2014It seems Toyota won't be the only one recalling the faulty Takata airbag inflators for long. Honda insiders in Japan claim that the company is getting close to announcing its own worldwide campaign that would begin before the end of June.
Unnamed sources close to Honda in Japan tell Automotive News that the company is pursuing an internal investigation into possibly affected models and is working with Takata to gather more information. They claim that it could involve even more than the 1.14 million cars worldwide that the automaker covered under the first recall for the problem in April 2013, including 561,000 vehicles in the US.
Toyota jumpstarted this process last week when it recalled over 2 million cars worldwide, including 844,277 in the US. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began a preliminary evaluation into the issue following six reported incidents, and started assembling data about potentially affected models from Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler. NHTSA also began investigating Takata itself.
2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Ultimate Edition
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Introduced at the end of 2006, this is the last year for the Toyota FJ Cruiser, the reincarnated FJ40-series Land Cruiser that will shortly journey to Takama-ga-hara, the Plain of High Heaven. In its first model year, we drove it to SEMA and found it, shall we say, coarse. It bobbled on the freeway and droned in the cabin, its boxy interior providing four bounce-boards for unpleasant frequencies. Tall mirrors helped one work around the eclipse of vision aft of the B-pillars, but navigating traffic required forethought and technique. Its turning circle was measured in kilometers. For the first two years of its life, it needed premium gas. It may have been fun to look at, but we couldn't wait to get out of it.
That's not the case anymore, and now the FJ Cruiser is poised to join a long list of vehicles that got better and better, then got axed.
