FOR SALE: 2008 TOYOTA RAV4 LIMITED 4WD V6
DESCRIPTION: 2008 Toyota Rav4 Limited 4wd V6. The vehicle has all options with the exception of leather seat trim and third row seat. The vehicle has every available power option including a power moonroof. The vehicle is also equipped with the upgraded JBL sound system. The vehicle is also equipped with the powerful and efficient 3.5 liter V6 engine and 5 speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy ranges from approximately 30 mpg on the freeway and mid 20's in town. The vehicle was purchased new at Sunshine Toyota in Battle Creek Michigan during July of 2008 and we are the original owners. The vehicle was maintained only by the Toyota dealer and all service records will be provided. I have a clear lien free title in hand. CONDITION: The vehicle has been garage stored it's entire life. The interior is in excellent condition and was professionally detailed this past month. There are minor scratches on the drivers side of the hood and the front bumper cover near the front license plate location. I think the scratches would buff out as they are minor and hard to see without close inspection. There are also some scratches on the middle of the spare tire cover. See photographs for details. Potential buyers are welcome to view the vehicle in Coldwater Michigan. Please contact me a day or so in advance to set up a meeting time. The remainder of the vehicle is in very good condition with all factory glass in place and chip free. The tires are 50% or less. I would estimate 12,000 tread life remaining. I do not require a deposit, however, the sale should be completed within 7 days of the auction close unless prior arrangements are made. Toyota nudges US sales projections up to 2.25M
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Toyota has raised its expectations for 2013's US sales for the third time since the end of 2012. The new target rests at 2.25 million units, when sales of Toyota, Lexus and Scion are taken as one. Subtracting Lexus, Toyota is still expecting to move over two million vehicles in the US by the end of 2013.
According to a report from Automotive News, the sales expectations came from Bob Carter, senior VP of automotive operations for Toyota USA, during a dealers during a meeting in Atlanta. The heightened expectations go along with Toyota's predictions for the US market as a whole, which it expects to grow to 15.5 million units by the end of 2013.
Besides an overall, national uptick in new vehicle sales, Toyota is also expecting a big push as it puts the next-generation Corolla to market during the second half of this year, along with the Tundra pickup truck. Meanwhile, dealers were shown images of a refreshed Camry, set to arrive in 2015, and reported that it's "more than a nip and a tuck," according to the AN report.
Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.
Toyota gives a free RAV4 to 50-millionth customer [w/video]
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Not surprisingly, the 50-millionth Toyota product sold in the US was a Camry, but Toyota had a big surprise in store for Michael Dee, the buyer of said milestone vehicle. Toyota group vice president Bill Fay showed up at Dee's house to not only personally thank him for the purchase, but also completely paid off that brand new Camry, presenting the owner with a clear title.
But that wasn't all. As you can tell from the image above, Fay had one more trick up his sleeve. The group VP brought along a brand new 2013 Toyota RAV4, which was also presented to Dee in appreciation. The best part is that Dee's genuine amazement was all caught on video, which is posted below.
