2005 Toyota Rav4 L Sport Utility 4-door 2.4l Original Owner 41,000 Miles! Puff! on 2040-cars
Huntington Station, New York, United States
Thanks for taking the time to check out this beautiful little 2005 Rav4 Limited I have to offer. This is an original owner vehicle, very lightly used averaging only 5,000 miles per year! The vehicle has been serviced religously to keep it in top, safe driving condition. All services , fluids ( oils, transmission and differentials, engine coolant and filters) all have been recently done. Tires are excellent and are a quality brand, no expense was spared in keeping this Rav4 in shape. All electrical functions are functioning as they should. It has power windows, locks, seat, and moonroof, all work smoothly. The heater and air conditioner are working perfectly and have never given a minute of trouble. Needless to say the basic safetey items like lights and wipers are very much in order. The interior is clean with virtually no signs of wear except the edge by the drivers seat from entering and exiting the vehicle( I have photograped the area) A true non-smoker vehicle , no strange smells or stains. A nice place to be while taking care of the business of driving. No disappointments in the cabin of this truck! Moving on to the exterior, The dark Candy Blue paint shines nicely, very strong bold color. Walking around the vehicle there are a few road chips and a small scuff or two from the wild world of parking lots, but on a scale of 1 to 10 it is a strong 9 and absolutely will be pleasing to the eye of its new owner. I have photographed a scuff on the bumper corner for clarity. The color is beautiful and with the protective side molding from the factory it will stay nice for a long time. Now the drive! The Rav4 is a very "car like" SUV, in its 4 Wheel Drive it never gives you the impression its a SUV. This one is no different. It accelerates without a hitch,it is always in All Wheel Drive but you wouldn't know it. There is no shake, wobble or other unpleasant condition that is exhibited during driving. Tight turning radius without any choppiness from the 4 wheel drive. The car is quiet inside at 70 mph and very precise feeling. No leaks,no smells and gets great fuel mileage. It cannot pack them in like a Cadillac Escalade but it is comfortable in size for a younger driver, combined with the safety of All Wheel Drive , whether it is raining, wet leaves or snowing it IS a benefit! Safe, economical transportation that looks great and has PLENTY of life left. I have set a reasonable reserve on this vehicle, the vehicle is now an "extra" so the sale of it is not even a question but it can't be given away. If a prospective buyer is interested in a pre-purchase inspection please make sure you do this before auction ends! There is a Toyota dealer within 3 miles or whatever you choose that works for you. Transportation is the high bidders responsibility, several airports are nearby and driving home is always an option. I can assist in getting the vehicle to the transporter and making myself available for the transaction. Please email me with any questions,I am available by phone but please email me first and I will be happy to exchange details or pertinent info. Within 72 hours of auction close I will need a $500.00 non-refundable deposit from the High Bidder. Unless other arrangements are made verbally. Thanks for looking! |

2017 Toyota 86 Drivers' Notes | Fun, even with an automatic
Fri, Aug 25 2017The Toyota 86 is a car that enthusiasts begged Toyota to build for decades. It's small, lightweight and rear-wheel drive. Thanks to a partnership with Subaru that resulted in the BRZ, this stylish coupe hit the streets in 2012. In the U.S., the car was originally known as the Scion FR-S but was rebadged as a Toyota after Scion was axed last year. Along with a new name, the 86 received updated styling both inside and out as well as a revised suspension and a slight bump in power, at least for the manual models. This Hot Lava-colored car doesn't feature Toyota's slick six-speed manual. Instead it rocks a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. While some enthusiasts may look down at that, automatics make up more than half of 86 sales. Still, the bones are there, and some people don't think the automatic is all that bad. Either way, we can't encourage enough people to buy these cars, as we want Toyota and Subaru to keep building them. Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: When I first slid behind the wheel of the 86, I was surprised to see the gear selector and paddles. It's one of those cars that you don't think of as having anything but a manual transmission. Also, in an interior where all the controls and displays are underwhelming, a set of paddle shifters stands out as one of the few tactile objects in the cabin. I ended up using the paddles quite a bit, and found that I actually enjoyed using them, so much so that I'd actually consider opting for the automatic transmission were I to buy an 86. Despite shifts that aren't as razor sharp as they could be, the car's high-revving engine means that it still feels great to use. Riding an engine like this up to its redline, filling the cabin with noise, is the sort of thing that'll give you goosebumps. Being able to keep both hands on the wheel while shifting is a good thing for engagement in this car, based on my time with it. Plus, when I got stuck in traffic, I didn't have to wear out my left leg. The other brilliant thing about the Toyota 86 is its sense of balance. I loved the way it communicated its load distribution when cornering, whether on or off the throttle or brake. The fact that the nose of this car snaps right to where you want it when you start dialing in steering angle is satisfying. And its low stance and good view out the windshield make it really easy to place on the road.
Toyota previews new C-HR crossover concept bound for Paris
Mon, 15 Sep 2014We're now just a few weeks away from the start of the Paris Motor Show, and when the doors open at the Porte de Versailles, Toyota will be among the many automakers with new wares to show - including the new concept car pictured in this latest teaser image.
Called the C-HR, the concept is designed to represent an "innovative vision for a compact crossover model", incorporating "a new design language with an engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain." The Japanese industrial giant isn't saying much else, but the C-HR is set to debut alongside the finalized exterior design for its upcoming new fuel cell sedan.
Toyota, of course, became a pioneer in the compact crossover segment when it introduced the first-generation RAV4 way back in 1994. If the silhouette is anything to go by, however, the C-HR concept appears to adopt a far more streamlined form. Watch this space for more.
Mazda ad showing Facebook updates while driving criticized by Senate committee [w/video]
Sat, 08 Feb 2014Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, held an all-day summit on Thursday to discuss the dangers of using modern technology while driving, during which an ad that Mazda aired during the Super Bowl was used as an example of the worrisome future towards which we're headed. While seemingly innocuous at first glance, the ad, which can be seen below, shows a brief glimpse of a driver using the Mazda Connect infotainment system in a Mazda3 to check/update his Facebook page while driving down the road.
Officials from major communications companies like Samsung, Google and Apple attended the summit, as well as representatives from automakers including General Motors and Toyota. A representative from Mazda was not present despite the company's own currently available technology being used as the poster child for the issues being discussed.
According to Automotive News, Senator Rockefeller warned the automaker and communication execs on hand that he will propose legislation to regulate the use of technology while driving if they don't work together to implement their own standards more quickly. Michael Robinson, GM's vice president of sustainability and global regulatory affairs, argued that his company has had distracted driving guidelines in place for 15 years since the advent of its OnStar system, noting that the technology in question has also helped the automaker save lives through automatic crash detection and calls to 911.
