TacomaHQ is proud to offer a super clean, very low mileage, and hard to find 1999 Toyota Rav4 L 4x4.  This truck has only had One Owner since brand new in 1999.  It was just traded into a local Toyota dealership on a new Rav4 and we were able to purchase it directly from them.  It has a clean Autocheck vehicle history report, and it was never smoked in.

The exterior is in beautiful condition.  The "Natural White" paint shines absolutely beautiful.  There are only a couple extremely small dings here or there.  There aren't any other dents or scratches to mention.  There isn't any rust at all on the body.  The undercarriage is in nice shape as well, with no leaks.

The interior is in excellent shape as well.  The carpets, seats, dashboard, glass, and headliner are all clean.  There aren't any smoke smells, burns, or marks anywhere inside.  There is also an unused cigarette lighter.  All of the electronics are functioning properly.

This Rav4 has some nice features and options!

- 2.0L 4-Cylinder Engine

- Automatic Transmission

- All-Wheel-Drive

- Ice Cold Air Conditioning

- Power Windows, Locks, and Mirrors

- Power Sunroof

- Cruise Control

 - Am/FM/Cassette Player

- Tilt Steering

- Alloy Wheels

- Dual Airbags

- Rear Wiper/Washer/Defrost

- Keyless Entry and Remote Start

 - Alloy Wheels

This Rav4 runs and drives excellent.  Everything works as it should.  The 4-Cylinder engine starts instantly and runs perfect.  The transmission shifts very smooth.  The truck goes straight down the road with no shakes, rattles, or pulls.  The brakes stop great with no pulsations as well.  The 4 Matching BF Goodrich long trail T/A tires are wearing evenly and have around 65-70% tread depth remaining.

I have 2 Keys, 1 Remote, the full owners manual set w/case, the full size spare tire, jack, tools, and a clean/clear title.

Toyota asking NHTSA for fuel cell car safety exemption regarding electric shocks

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Toyota is requesting an exemption from federal safety regulations that govern electric cars as it prepares to launch a small-scale hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle fleet.
The Japanese automaker is targeting Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 305, which covers the packaging of high-voltage parts in electric cars. According to Uncle Sam, these systems need to be isolated so that passengers and first responders aren't electrocuted in the event of a crash. That seems pretty smart, but it's become a problem for Toyota's upcoming production fuel cell vehicle, as the mechanism that prevents electric shocks in low-speed crashes will apparently simply keep Toyota's car from even functioning.
Instead of the federally approved system, Bloomberg reports that Toyota plans to insulate the high-voltage wires and cables in the car, along with shielding electrical components like the fuel cells, electric motor and batteries with (presumably non-conductive) metal barriers.

Toyota is world's top-selling automaker for second year in a row

Sun, 26 Jan 2014

Toyota is the top-selling automaker in the world. Again. Still. With total reported sales, including those from subsidiaries, of 9.98 million in 2013, Toyota's performance was enough to outpace rival General Motors by around 270,000 vehicles. That's a 2.4-percent gain over 2012, and it makes Toyota the top-seller two years in a row. Still, the gap between the top three is shrinking - Toyota held a 460,000-unit lead in 2012.
GM sold 9.71 million vehicles last year, a four-percent increase, coming in second place ahead of Volkswagen, which sold around 9.5 million. According to Bloomberg, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said his company managed to win the sales race while also remaining more profitable than GM or VW.
It's going to be another interesting year in 2014 as the three behemoth automakers vie for the title of World's Largest. Toyota has predicted that it will increase sales in 2014 to 10.32 million - which would make Toyota the first automaker ever to surpass 10 million global sales - though General Motors and VW are expected to again fight for the lead in the massive Chinese market. Stay tuned.

Mazda CX-5 named Japan's Car of The Year, Subaru BR-Z wins "Special Award"

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.
The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.
The second-place getters were the Toyobaru twins with 318 votes, the surprise being they didn't beat or get any closer to the crossover. The Subaru BRZ did claw some mojo back, earning the Special Award given to cars that have made "an exceptional impact." The BMW 3 Series was third overall and won the Import Car of the Year award with plenty of room between it and the second place Range Rover Evoque.
