***THIS IS A 1999 RAV4 NOT 1099 and IS LOCATED FOR PICKUP FROM SHELLY BEACH ON THE CENTRAL COAST NSW***** IT WILL BE PURCHASED IN AU DOLLARS NOT US DOLLARS - MY APOLOGIES AS I ACCIDENTALLY LISTED IT VIA EBAY.COM INSTEAD OF EBAY.COM.AU : )

This car was rear ended on the weekend and insurer decided it was a write off as it was insured for $6900....such a shame has been the best car ever, and only has approx. 162000ks on the clock.  Manual, cd player, sunroof, electric windows, cassette player, roof racks.  Still runs exactly the same - perfectly!  Sadly missed already but will make a great fixer upper (not sure of laws fixing a write off??) or fantastic profit for parts for anyone so inclined.   Located on central coast - have a few wreckers interested wrangling over price, so reserve the right to remove at anytime and the best offer will be accepted.  Make an offer online or call me on 0435864685 - vehicle is located in Shelly Beach on the central coast.  Never been finance, I am the second owner.  Feel free to request an inspection but you better be quick because as soon as we find another car to buy we will be selling to the highest offer!

Thankyou and happy shopping :)

Jay Leno gets behind the curtain on the design of the Toyota FT-1 concept

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

Hinting at the future of Toyota performance vehicles, the FT-1 concept was one of the stars of the Detroit Auto Show this year. It even nabbed fourth place in our Editors' Choice list. While he's a few months behind the car's official reveal, Jay Leno managed to get the only existing concept of the sports coupe wheeled into his garage to take a closer look, and he's pretty impressed.
Leno speaks with Alex Shen and William Chergosky, the exterior and interior chief designers of the FT-1 respectively, to get a better idea of the inspirations behind the concept. Jay heaps high praise on it for mixing Italian and Japanese design and says he likes the look even more than the Lexus LFA. The coupe isn't a product of either country, though. It was penned at Toyota's CALTY Design Research center in Newport Beach, CA.
The designers go into the entire history of the FT-1, and Shen even admits that Toyota design lacks an emotional factor at the moment. It's a fascinating interview behind some of the little touches you might miss at first glance. Unfortunately, the model doesn't have the green light for production yet and may never get made. In any case, scroll down to watch Leno swoon over the coupe.

Toyota Camry Hybrid SE adds a dash of limited-edition sport

Tue, 04 Feb 2014

For drivers who want to benefit from the increased efficiency of a hybrid sedan but who don't want to look like they'd rather be hugging trees, Toyota has just announced its 2014.5 Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition.
The SE LTD combines the exterior bits and pieces that make the SE look sportier than other Camry models with the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, electric motor and nickel metal hydride battery pack of the Camry Hybrid. That means the Hybrid SE offers up 200 combined system horsepower to the front wheels, and we'd expect it to be rated at the same 40 miles per gallon city and 38 highway of the Camry XLE Hybrid.
Only 5,000 units will be produced between February and June of 2014, with an asking price of $27,845, which is about $700 more expensive than the base Camry Hybrid LE or $2,620 less than the Hybrid XLE that Toyota says shares a similar level of equipment. Sounds like a fair shake to us. Scroll down below for the complete press release.

Toyota Tundra ditches V6 for 2015

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

The Toyota Tundra debuted in new-ish form for the 2014 model year, but as we head into 2015, the truck boasts a couple of small updates. Most notably, the base V6 engine has been discontinued. On top of that, there's the new TRD Pro model on offer for 2015, which we've told you about before.
Why kill the V6? Simple - it was very low-volume. "The Tundra V6 take rate was significantly less than five percent," a Toyota spokesperson confirmed via email to Autoblog. So for 2015, the two V8 engine options remain - a 4.6-liter unit with 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque, or the more powerful 5.7-liter powerplant with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive is standard. Four-wheel drive, of course, is available with either engine.
The only other noteworthy changes for 2015 include an optional integrated trailer brake for the 5.7-liter models, a new rear under-seat tray storage system for Double Cab trucks, and a spray-in bed-liner. Scroll down for the official press blast.
