This vehicle has a bad transmission and will not go under its own power. It also has significant body damage to the passenger rear and back areas (See pics). With that said, this was a great car for us. We bought it in 2008 from a wholesaler who bought it from Enterprise. The car only had 4,000 miles on it when we bought it. It was wrecked in the passenger rear when we bought it. We never fixed it because we just used it for a daily driver to work and back so cosmetics weren't an issue for us. The motor has 117,XXX miles on it and was running great when the transmission went out. I was driving the car when I felt a "clunk" and the warning indicators came up on the digital display. The motor was still running fine and the car was still moving under its own power, but I could feel the car was having to work harder to go. I stopped the car and shut it off and called a wrecker to take it to a dealer. After this the car wouldn't restart because the computer system wouldn't let the motor start because of the damaged transmission. The dealer said the transmission was bad and it would have to have a new one at the cost of approximately $6,000. I had the car towed home and called an expert on the cars and he stated that the transmission had likely gone bad and that it couldn't be worked on. So, there it sits. I have no ambition of fixing the car. I just went and bought a new Corolla. As for other details, about two weeks before the tranny went out, a deer ran into the front passenger fender and dented it badly (see pics); the two driver side doors each have about a 2" scratch on them. The hood has a very small dent in the driver's front corner by the headlight when a shopping cart hit it. The interior is in fine shape. I took out a few of the interior parts on the inside of the passenger rear where the damage but I still have all the parts and I also have a brand new rear passenger tail light (about a $300 value). The car does not have a backup camera or any bluetooth, etc.. It does have a CD player. Everything on the interior works. This car has a lot of expensive parts on it if someone had the time to part it out or it could be restored. Body work and transmission a rebuild would probably cost around $9-11K. The estimate on the body work was $2500 and Toyota told me the tranny would be around $6k. Once fixed, she would have a lot of life left in her and she gets great gas mileage.

Toyota Prius line may not reach 2013 sales target
Mon, 22 Apr 20132012 was a good year for the Toyota Prius line, the hybrid that started it all moving 236,659 units, being the best-selling model in California for the year and the Prius C (pictured) being deemed the most reliable car of 2012 by Consumer Reports. Then 2013 happened, and gas prices dropped more than expected, and people haven't been buying the little hybrids like they used to.
A report in Bloomberg says Toyota set 250,000 units as the Prius family's sales target for this year, but hits like the double-digit drop in year-on-year performance in February have helped lower 2013 sales by 8.4 percent compared to 2012, making the objective "a challenge" to reach. The declines in Prius sales come even as hybrid sales overall were up in the first couple of months this year, including sales of other Toyota and Lexus hybrids. Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American chief, said the Prius target would be adjusted if necessary.
Toyota hits 10 million Camry models sold in US
Tue, 02 Jul 2013This year marks 30 years of sales for the Toyota Camry in the US, and in that time, it has amassed more than 10 million sales. In its first year on the market, the Camry sold 52,651 units, but it has gone on to become the best-selling car in the US for the last 11 years.
Toyota says that "virtually all" current Camry models sold in the US are made here, and three-quarters of all Camry contents are domestically sourced. Hyundai tops Toyota in annual CarMD Vehicle Health Index
Fri, 06 Dec 2013CarMD has released its third annual Vehicle Health Index, which for the 2013 tracked the frequency and cost of repairs for "check engine" problems of 119-million vehicles built between the 2003 and 2013 model years. For the first two years of the index, Toyota ranked at the top of the list, but this year's results see Hyundai moved to number one, pushing Toyota down a spot.
The Korean automaker's rise to the top has been "fueled by its low repair frequency," according to CarMD. Toyota is second to Hyundai in lowest repair frequency, but Toyotas also have the highest average cost of repair. (Interestingly, General Motors vehicles have the lowest average.) Both Toyota's and Hyundai's manufacturer "health" ratings suffered this year, but Toyota took a bigger hit, which also is what helped Hyundai achieve the top ranking.
While Hyundai is the top manufacturer in the index, the 2012 Toyota Camry is the top vehicle. The best-ranking Hyundai was the 2010 Elantra (behind three Nissan models and four Toyotas), which took the number eight spot. Hyundai has six other vehicles in the top 100.
