Here is a 2006 Toyota Prius with only 83k miles and it is an accident free, rust free
Florida Toyota that has been serviced at the Toyota dealership and runs and drives like new and the batteries are
still under warranty till 100k miles! These cars will get near 50mpg and are very pleasent to drive and they are also
ultra dependble. This one was sold new right here in Ft.Myers and traded back in here in Ft.Myers so it has never
been in the harsh winters of the north and it shows, there is no rust and even the underside still looks near new,
(look at the underside picture I took). It was serviced at the local Toyota dealership as well and I have the print
out. It received a great score of 92 points out of an average rating of between 82-89 points on the Autocheck report
so you know it has a great history as well. The exterior looks very nice and shows only light normal wear for the
age and it has a nice deep Toyota shine on it's Silver Pine Mica green paint. There are matching Goodyear tires with
good tread remaining to help give this Prius a smooth and quiet ride. There are tinted windows with sun shades as
well. The interior is in nice shape with only light normal wear for the age and all the options work including the
ice cold air conditioning and CD stereo. There is a small repair that was done on the passengers seat that you can
see, not bad but there. The hatch area is spotless and there is plenty of head and legroom both front and rear. The
peppy Hybrid engine runs nice and smooth as it should with only 83k miles and again will deliver up to 50mpg! There
are no shakes or rattles and the brakes are smooth as well. This car will save you a BUNDLE on gas and repairs. It's
really a nice car to drive and it is ultra dependable and comfortable and again the batteries are still under factory
warranty till 100k miles. And with dual front, side and rear air bags and anti-lock brakes it is a very safe vehicle
for your child and family. KKB is $9586 on this Prius so this is your chance to own a nice, well cared for and
serviced Florida Prius for less! I have great feedback so you can be sure that this vehicle will be just as
nice as I am stating. Should you need help with shipping call me, if you decide to fly into Ft.Myers to pick it up in
person I will meet you at our local airport right here in town. I know buying a vehicle you haven't driven is a
little scary so I try to make it easy as well as fun!! As with all my vehicles, this one was put through a safety
check to be sure it is safe and road worthy. This includes an oil change and an inspection of the brakes, belts,
hoses, tires, fluid levels, etc. It's just one more thing I can do to make this a good experience for you. I encourge
you to call with any questions @ 239-872-5281. Thanks! ![]()

By practically every measure, passenger vehicles in the US are continuing to get safer. With the year rapidly coming to an end, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is releasing its annual list tallying of the scores for the latest vehicles to see how they compare to last year. Judging by the agency's evaluations, the numbers look quite positive. According to the institute, 71 vehicles earned either the Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ rating so far in its testing for 2015. Among the latest winners, there have been 33 TSP+ awards and 38 TSP medalists. That's a healthy increase over the 22 TSP+ and 17 TSP grades in 2014. The figures appear even more impressive when you consider that it keeps getting harder to earn the + designation. In the latest round of testing, a vehicle must offer some form of front crash prevention automatic braking to get the mark. Previously, just a warning to drivers was necessary. This list also illustrates the ways that automakers adapt to new testing procedures. In 2013 there were 117 TSP ratings and 13 TSP+ awards. Then, the IIHS mandated that to be a safety pick, a model had to score Good in the institute's four crash tests, plus a Good or Acceptable in the small overlap front test. That brought a plunge in 2014 to just 17 TSP grades. With the numbers climbing again, companies apparently have deciphered how to perform better. Some brands especially stood out on this year's list. The IIHS praised Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and Acura for offering standard front crash prevention systems on some models. Subaru received at least one of the awards for all seven of its models. Toyota also had seven, and the Honda brand did too – though the institute counts the two- and four-door versions of the Civic and Accord separately. Check out the full announcement below and a video about this year's winners. The full list can be viewed, here. Safety gains ground: More vehicles earn top honors from IIHS The number of vehicles earning either of the Institute's two awards has jumped to 71 from 39 this time last year, giving consumers more choices for optimum protection in crashes. The number of winners in the top tier - TOP SAFETY PICK+ - has increased by 11 for 2015, despite a tougher standard for front crash prevention. "This is the third year in a row that we are giving automakers a tougher challenge to meet," says IIHS President Adrian Lund.

Years ago, one of the first things most music lovers did after buying a new vehicle was drive to an aftermarket stereo shop to get the crappy stock components swapped for better gear. And you'd typically get not only better sound but also more bang (and boom) for your buck. But in the past decade or so, the overall quality of OEM audio has dramatically increased, while car electronics became more complex, removing the incentive for most new vehicle owners — and all but the most hardcore DIYer — to start from scratch. In 2010, I did a comparison of the average costs for OEM electronics vs. similar offerings from the aftermarket, and back then automakers' stock premium systems were by far the best bargain — and are probably an even better value now. The premium 14-speaker, 1,200-watt JBL system in the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon is a prime example of this trend. It's standard on the top two Limited and Touring trims and is available as a $680 audio upgrade on the XLE and XSE. I doubt you can even buy 14 speakers and 1,200 watts of amplification from the aftermarket for 700 bucks, much less have it all installed. And because the system is bundled with Toyota's Entune infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and a surround-view camera, removing the head unit means you would likely lose these features. Another advantage of OEMs and their audio partners is they can design the car around the audio system. In the past, automakers would typically place speakers where convenient for packaging, not for optimal sound reproduction, and audio engineers were forced to compromise. But as with the Avalon's premium JBL audio system, this is starting to change. At a recent behind-the-scenes peek for media into the process of developing the system, Toyota and Harman engineers delved into the minutia of sealing the inner panel of the front doors to create an enclosure for 6x8-inch woofers, making space in the pillars for JBL horn tweeters and extensively measuring the acoustic properties of the interior to tune the sound to the space. I'm met some creative and skilled car stereo installers, but none with a degree in psychoacoustics. The system is also the first to feature Quantum Logic Surround that creates a multi-channel listening experience from two-channel sources. And it includes Harman's Clari-Fi processing that "rebuilds key details lost" in compressed audio formats used by streaming music services and MP3s.

A few months back we reported on a dealership owner in Japan who was petitioning Toyota to make a luxury van. The problem, he reasoned, was that he couldn't take as many friends, colleagues and clients around with him in his Lexus LS, and his Toyota Alphard van wasn't luxurious enough. Well, it seems like he wasn't alone, and Toyota has listened.
The Japanese auto giant has just revealed the Esquire, a new luxury van designed with just such customers in mind. It's significantly smaller than the Sienna we get in America, smaller than the aforementioned Alphard and about the same size as (this writer's favorite) the JDM Noah van (on which we gather it's based). But what sets the Esquire apart is its upscale appearance.
The boxy van is distinguished by its dominant T-shaped chrome grille with a unique emblem that encompasses a shield, sword, "the collar of a gentleman's suit" and the letters Esq. The flank is characterized by a strong beltline with chrome lower window frame and an expansive greenhouse with tinted rear glass. Inside the flexible cabin you'll find accommodation for seven or eight passengers (depending on specification), synthetic leather upholstery and wood and metallic trim. There are even wheelchair-enabled models on offer as well.
