2008 Toyota Prius Touring Automatic With Leather & Camera 1.5 L 4 Cyl on 2040-cars
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
I am selling my 2008 Toyota Prius 5 door HB with approximately 154,000 miles on it. I am selling it used as is with no warranty. Just passed NC State Inspection in April 2014. I have had this car a little over a year and am selling it because I need a larger vehicle that can tow a camper. This has been a great car - averaging 45 miles per gallon in town. It is a local car to Charlotte, NC. I am the second owner and I bought it with high miles 138,227 at the time. It now has around 154,000.The first owner traveled a lot for work and that is why it had high miles; while I used it mostly for in town driving. Love this car - very smooth riding and quiet. No problems. Oil changed at regular intervals as required by Toyota & others - I have receipts. Automatic, Leather, Air, Power Steering, Power Brakes Driver & Passenger Air Bags, Power Windows, Locks, Remote keyless entry, Tire Pressure monitoring, AM/FM/CD/Audio Input jacks, and more... all in working condition. I believe in full disclosure - 1. Driver side carpet is worn - torn and I guess it was worn out with high heel from the first owner. It was like that when I purchased it. 2. Small scratches in 3 or 4 places (see pictures). 3. One outside rim is missing on one of the tires. 4. Minor fender bender - was hit at a red light last year and it put a wrinkle in the bumper (see pictures). 5. Selling used as is with no warranty and no refund. Please feel free to e-mail me with questions. |

Toyota FV2 Concept is a single-seat mood ring for the road
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Of all the vehicles Toyota brought to the Tokyo Motor Show, the FV2 might be the most creative. The minimalist single-seat concept is a glimpse at Toyota's idea of a "fun to drive" vehicle in the future.
The FV2 is essentially a pod with a diamond-shaped wheel array (what powers said wheels has not been disclosed), and Toyota says that the technology of the vehicle allows it to gauge the driver's mood and suggest possible destinations. The interaction between driver and vehicle is also displayed in an augmented reality screen on the windshield, and the car can also act as a mood ring of sorts with exterior colors and patterns that can change based on the driver's mood. We can just see it now: "Don't mess with Jim today, his car is red."
Scroll down for a brief press release on the FV2.

Toyota working on cars that hover above the roadway
Wed, 11 Jun 2014Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world, but it's not content simply building and selling conventional cars - it's been at the forefront of numerous advancements in ground transportation. It is widely credited with advancing the cause of hybrid propulsion, and alongside Audi and Google, is among the first automakers seriously testing self-driving cars. We could go on, but the news here is that Toyota is reportedly developing vehicles that hover above the road surface instead of rolling along it.
The news comes from Hiroyoshi Yoshiki, one of Toyota's tech gurus, who revealed at Bloomberg's Next Big Thing summer in San Francisco that the company is working on hovering cars - ones that travel just above the road surface, but don't actually fly in three-dimension space.
According to The Verge, a spin-off of our own sister-site Engadget, Yoshiki refused to elaborate on what the project entails and how far along it is. He was speaking along acting NHTSA chief David Friedman, who lauded such advancements as a "great taste of innovations to come," but stressed the significance of more concrete improvements to conventional automobiles - like inter-car communications to keep vehicles from colliding on the highway - as more relevant to today's industry.
