My wife bought this car new and within 90 days someone turned left in front of her on Pacific Ave. Venice and there is no where to go. It did extensive damage to the front end but because it was such a square hit the unitized frame/body did not suffer any twisting or mishaping. The insurance company still felt it was cheaper to pay it off then to repair it. My wife took the money and had Venice Beach Auto Body, repair the car. This same business is still in operation. In 2007 I bought the car from her for business write off purposes for  using my own car. I then began going through the car mechanically for maximum reliability during my 100 mile round trip daily for my work. In 2010 I switched over to  my pick-up for that travel and keep the MR2 for a back-up vehicle. I have since retired and although I have had it sitting in the driveway ever since, I have just now decided that I should sell it.
This car has always been Smoke-Free,
It's radio is the top of the line Toyota radio for that year. It is an AM/FM, and cassette stereo player.
The stock speakers in the headliner are no longer available so I had these reconditioned approx. 3 years ago.. Nothing else fits in that space.
With the exception of the body work and the catalytic converter (Magic Muffler) all repair work has been at Marina Toyota in Marina Del Rey and I have the complete folder of receipts and work orders for this car.
I don't think there is much difference in the DMV's everywhere. Paper work must be completed in advance and received and registered by the DMV.  Payment will be cash, certified check or paypal.  I am a member of AAA and we may well be able to do it at a AAA office.
This is going to be a great find for whomever buys this car. With very little work and new paint, this car will look fantastic and easily admired by those with an eye for cars.

2014 Toyota Highlander

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

Midsize crossovers like the Toyota Highlander tend to play a thankless role in the life of today's modern family.
That's really too bad. With the ability to hold several hyperactive kids and tons of cargo while keeping everyone safe and comfortable in all kinds of climate conditions day in and day out, they're true heroes in the lives of hundreds of thousands of families across the country. Yet their car-apathetic owners often immediately forget about them as soon as their work is done. And nearly all midsize crossovers are thoroughly ignored by enthusiasts whose eyes begin to glaze over at first mention of the phrase "third row."
Toyota is looking to soften the blow somewhat by giving its midsize crossover, the Highlander, a big redesign for the 2014 model year. With a bold new look, updated suspension and a refreshed interior focused on comfort and convenience, Toyota aims to make the Highlander sportier to drive and more striking in appearance, because, as the marketing team explains, "families are going places and they want to get there in style."

Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.

2015 Toyota Sienna

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

It's hard to love a minivan, but it's very, very easy to use one. More than any other kind of vehicle - save a panel van, perhaps - the minivan is the most appliance-like of four-wheeled transportation devices. And most minivan buyers don't need to love their purchases; they just need to use them. So when it comes to a minivan's driving dynamics, who cares?
Well, we do. So we perked right up when Toyota talked about refinements it made to the 2015 Sienna, starting with some 142 added spot welds made to the body structure. Normally not stop-the-presses stuff, but Toyota says the added reinforcements prompted Sienna engineers to recalibrate the springs and shocks for improved handling, and our very limited wheel time along the (admittedly benign) roads on the Big Island of Hawaii revealed the 2015 Sienna SE model's handling to be tidier and more engaging than you'd expect for a porky, 4,560-pound, eight-passenger box on wheels.
