Up for your consideration is a rare model produced and manufactured by Toyota.

A beloved MR2 with factory Supercharged motor!

Only 210,000 original miles. 3 owners since new!

Automatic transmission

Working A/C

Fair paint but it is red and as you know red fades so this was a repaint along the way before it arrived in my hands.
Still very presentable, mint it is not.

Interior is lovely and heavy velour fabric was used.

Dash does have cracks in it which most MR2's of this era were prone too.

Carpet is torn, completely usable but again, depending on how mint you want it would need replacing.

All tires are about a year old and have 80% tread left. Warranty from Discount tire is valid.

Front strut cartridges where replaced recently with new KYB ones but still have some clunks when hitting a pothole. Possible bushings need replacing in the suspension. Again typical.

Radiator has been rodded ad cleaned with a complete cooling system flush. Only done as a preventative measure and the car has never been overheated.

Distributor has been R&R within two years.

The 4AGZ-E motor sounds and performs healthy. There are some minor leaks. I do not know from where as it could be any number of places. If you are familiar with MR2's than you know this is par for the course. Typical.

Keep in mind the car is close to 26 years old and is not a new vehicle. it will have minor stuff that need tending too but still drives great!

The power to weight ratio is great and a hoot to drive. Very Go-Kart like. Speedy Gonzalez as it like to be called can roll with the best of them, especially in turns.

A low stance and great suspension really serves the driver looking to have fun in the twisties or at your next autocross event.

All electrical works but at this time the alternator has given up the ghost so it will need replacing before said fun can be had. A fresh battery is also needed.

With a new battery it will  start and drive but not very far before the battery goes dead. Again, alternator. About a $100 and two hours labor.

It has T-tops but missing the inside covers. I have tinted all windows to cut down on sun glare and protect the interior from fading.

A/C works great. The blower could be stronger but it is what it is. No power steering. Great steering radius.

Currently registered till JULY and has Arizona Plates and clear Arizona Title.

This is a modern classic and gaining value over time. Only 1 in 10 cars sold were Supercharged.

With a little work than can be a true looker and collectors piece.

Car is currently located in San Diego and if your in the area inspections are welcomed.

If transporting out of state I can assist but ultimately it is buyers responsibility to have the car paid in full as well as finding transport company.

You are the expert and no warranties are given and implied. As-is where is.

Also as a side note, antenna motor broken so does not go up and down.

Drivers side window switch broken. Window does not go up or down. No power locks.

Japanese spark plug giant NGK pleads guilty to price fixing, to pay $52M fine

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice into price fixing in the automotive industry has nabbed one more company breaking the law. Japanese parts giant NGK Spark Plug Company agreed to plead guilty to a felony count of pricing fixing and bid rigging in the in the US District Court in Detroit. Its punishment is a $52.1 million criminal fine and to continue to cooperate with the DOJ's sleuthing into the problem.
According to the DOJ, NGK conspired to fix prices on spark plugs, standard oxygen sensors, and air fuel ratio sensors on vehicles from major automakers in the US, including the former DaimlerChrysler, Honda and Toyota, in a scheme that ran from at least January 2000 to July 2011. The charge claimed that the company and its co-conspirators held meetings where they agreed on bids and price quotes that were submitted to the automakers.
With the latest plea, the DOJ has caught 28 companies and 26 executives for price-fixing and bid rigging in the auto parts industry, and they have collected $2.4 billion in criminal fines. In 2013, the feds brought nine Japanese suppliers down at once, to collect $740 million. Scroll down to read the DOJ's complete announcement of the case.

Watch Congress sample Toyota's i-Road 3-wheeler concept

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Toyota brought its new i-Road, a three-wheeled, all-electric low-speed vehicle that debuted in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, to the Capitol for some of our elected officials to test out. As easy as it is to forget that politicians are people, too, it was refreshing to see a human side to many of them as they zipped about one of the Capitol's many meeting rooms.
We'd say their reactions were surprisingly positive. Of course, some were just down there because Toyota is a big presence in their respective districts, but the bulk of the senators and representatives seemed like they just wanted to zip about the makeshift indoor course on the leaning trike.
Take a look below at the video from Bloomberg.

This 1,000-horsepower, rear-drive Toyota Corolla iM could be yours

Tue, Feb 19 2019

We were amazed last year when we learned that Papadakis Racing built Fredric Aasbo a rear-drive, 1,000-horsepower 2017 Toyota Corolla iM for drifting. Now we're amazed that the car could end up in the hands of an average person, because the car is currently going for auction on Bring A Trailer. Just as a quick recap for those that might have missed hearing about the car last year, the little Toyota hatch features a turbocharged and nitrous-injected 2.7-liter 2AR-series Toyota four-cylinder. Variants of that engine are found in older Toyota RAV4s and Camrys. According to Bring A Trailer, the engine hits 1,000 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque when running on E85. Power goes through a four-speed dog box manual transmission to the rear wheels. Now there is the question of what you would do with such a mad machine. One possibility is to run it again in the Formula Drift series the car was built for. Bring A Trailer reports that it should be legal for the 2019 season, and with extra parts and wheels, you would be in a good spot to get started. The seller does note that all the graphics and sponsor decals would have to be removed if it's entered again. Even if you didn't run it in a professional drift series, it would probably be a fun car to use in more grassroots drift events or even just as a track car of some sort. There's also one more potential option that would be totally absurd. You see, it appears Papdakis Racing started with a factory-built, street legal Corolla iM that could have easily gone on to see a life of ferrying a young couple or family around in efficient, affordable style. As such, it should have a VIN that could be used to register and insure the car without too much trouble. It even still has functional lights. As long as you're in a state that doesn't have modification or emissions restrictions, it could be possible to make this a street car. Now we're not positive on this, so do your due diligence before plunking down cash for it, but it does seem possible, and it would be crazy and awesome. Related Video:
