Looking to sell my Toyota Mr2 Turbo.  The car is an original hardtop turbo car. Options on the car are A/C, power windows/locks, and abs.  This car has manual steering and no cruise control which makes the car very light. I actually got it weighed and it was 2700 with a 3/4 tank of gas. I am the second owner of the car and it currently has just under 120,000 miles on the chassis.  I daily drive this car almost every day so the miles will keep rising slowly. The interior is kept in mint condition. The only flaw is the common tear on the side bolster of the driver seat. The car is very reliable and has never given me any issues other than a squeaky a/c belt every now and again.  It could use some paint work since it is peeling in some spots. This car is ready to drive though and is in great shape.

All aftermarket parts and maintenance parts have under 10,000 miles on them.

Here is a list of some work done to the car:
-Gen3 Motor Swap w/ LSD transmission - Around 90k miles on it now.
-KO racing Gt3071r ball bearing turbo kit - makes about 320whp at 17psi
-Custom cold air intake, rear mount intercooler, and exhaust.
-Stainless Steel Brake Lines
-Full 93+ turbo suspension arms and big brake upgrade.
-New brake pads and rotors - under 3,000 miles
-BC coilover suspension - under 5,000 miles
-Custom front strut brace/BMC brace
-93+ shifter
-Grex shift knob
-SSR Integral A2 wheels
-New ball joints all around
-Megan racing tie rod ends
-AEM wideband o2 gauge
-EMS Digital Boost Gauge
-Clear turn signal lenses
-Clear door lenses
-Frux front lip
-Side splitters
-JDM 1998 clear corners
-JDM solid side moldings
-JDM clear side markers
-OMP Steering wheel

Just to be clear, all modifications were done properly and are reversible. I made sure not to harm the integrity of this chassis. Even the intercooler kit is bolt on using factory studs and holes. No cut up chassis here.

Also the buyer is responsible for organizing shipping.

Feel free to email me with any questions.

Toyota, Kaley Cuoco grant wishes in Super Bowl XLVII ad

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

For viewers who plan on watching the Super Bowl only for the commercials, here's one for you to enjoy ahead of time. As we saw in the teaser video that Toyota released last week, will be making the transition from Big Bang to The Big Game as a wish-granting genie in a commercial for the 2013 Toyota RAV4.
Though not as entertaining as the actual teaser for this commercial, it still garnered a couple chuckles from the Autoblog crew. We won't spoil it for you, but a word of advice: if Cuoco ever shows up in your driveway granting you wishes, we'd suggest you be very clear what you want... and enunciate.
If you want to see the commercial before this Sunday's game, we have the video (and an accompanying press release) posted after the jump.

BMW, Toyota outline new tech joint venture, new sports car

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

Back in June, Toyota and BMW announced a "memorandum of understanding" outlining plans for the two companies to join forces on future products and technology development. On Thursday, they signed a more formal and binding agreement that goes further into detail about the partnership, and it all sounds pretty exciting. The two announced they will work together in four main areas:
Joint development of a fuel cell system
"Set up a feasibility study to define a joint platform concept for a mid-size sports vehicle"

Scion rules out roadster, turbo versions of FR-S

Tue, Nov 25 2014

Ever since Toyota and Subaru released the sports car alternatively known as the GT86, 86, BRZ and Scion FR-S a couple of years ago, rumors have circulated that even more exciting variants could be in store. But at least as far as Scion is concerned, those rumors are apparently nothing more than wishful thinking. Speaking with WardsAuto at the LA Auto Show last week, Scion chief Doug Murtha said that the prospect of an FR-S roadster has been taken off the table entirely. Apparently Scion lobbied parent company Toyota to produce just such a model, but after failing to find other markets interested enough in the model to put it into production, corporate HQ said no. "I think we were pretty aggressive on our (submitted plan), but we looked at what we would have conceivably lost on the product and said, 'We're not going to even push it further,'" Murtha said, going on to note, "Nobody was more disappointed than we were." Murtha further shot down the idea of a turbo version of the FR-S, dismissing it as a prospect the blogosphere (that's us) wanted to happen but "that's not something that's coming." Either variant might have helped Scion and Toyota boost sales of the model (which are predictably dropping after their first two years on the market), but the investment also might not have paid off their development, tooling and marketing costs. Of course, Murtha can only speak for Toyota, but we'd be surprised to see Subaru go it alone on either model, as costs would be that much more prohibitive without a partner. Bummer.
