This is a 1991 MR2 turbo with all factory options and no modifications. The air conditioning needs repair. Car runs excellent and had run mint ever since I got it from my best friend, whose wife drove it to Publix and home. It averaged 2,000.00 per year. I've had it about 10 years and put on approx 20,000.00 fun miles. These cars will run 200,000 miles like any toyota 2 liter engine. It puts out about 200 hp and 0 to 60 is in 5.9 seconds. The tubo only came with a 5 speed and t-TOPS and I wouldn't have it any other way.. This car can be a racer, daily driver, or a collectors dream. I never drove it in rain and my mechanic told me it has no rust. Repairs are few and far between. I just put in ball joints and a master cylinder. I just had a minor accident in my driveway. It cost me 6,000.00 dollars . I had to get a door from Japan rather than use a used door which may have had bondo in it. The car had a minor front passenger dent in 1993 which was immediately repaired. This car was meant to be driven with T-Tops off in place behind seats in original safety bags. They strap in place. You have a front and back trunk, as the engine is mid/rear mounted, right behind your head giving you perfect balance. The only other cars like this are porches, lambos, and other fine sports cars. They don't comm without repair issues. the toyota will go 200,000 with no problems. Mine is barely broken in. I also have a spare set of tires. I'm selling the car because I'm 61 , with back problems and can't enjoy the car the way i used to. I want to pass this along to a caring car enthusiast. I had my fun. Good luck with the offers and buy it now price. Look at others. You'll see twice the mileage.

Toyota working on cars that hover above the roadway
Wed, 11 Jun 2014Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world, but it's not content simply building and selling conventional cars - it's been at the forefront of numerous advancements in ground transportation. It is widely credited with advancing the cause of hybrid propulsion, and alongside Audi and Google, is among the first automakers seriously testing self-driving cars. We could go on, but the news here is that Toyota is reportedly developing vehicles that hover above the road surface instead of rolling along it.
The news comes from Hiroyoshi Yoshiki, one of Toyota's tech gurus, who revealed at Bloomberg's Next Big Thing summer in San Francisco that the company is working on hovering cars - ones that travel just above the road surface, but don't actually fly in three-dimension space.
According to The Verge, a spin-off of our own sister-site Engadget, Yoshiki refused to elaborate on what the project entails and how far along it is. He was speaking along acting NHTSA chief David Friedman, who lauded such advancements as a "great taste of innovations to come," but stressed the significance of more concrete improvements to conventional automobiles - like inter-car communications to keep vehicles from colliding on the highway - as more relevant to today's industry.
Toyota unintended acceleration lawsuit settled for $16M
Mon, 08 Apr 2013Slowly, the many loose threads still dangling after the unintended acceleration issue Toyota faced a few years ago are being resolved. The Orange County District Attorney's office was believed to be the first DA's office to take Toyota to court, its suit alleging that Toyota knew its cars had defects and continued to sell them. The suit sought to "permanently enjoin Toyota from continued unlawful, unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices as it pertains to both consumers and competitors" and asked for $2,500 "for every violation of the Unfair Business Practices Act," plus costs.
That suit has now been settled, Toyota - without admitting fault or wrongdoing - agreeing to pay $16 million to the county. Half of the money will go to the Orange County Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership, another four million dollars to the OC DA's office to investigate economic crime, the remaining four million being used to pay for the case.
Toyota GT86 convertible on 'indefinite hold'
Sat, 05 Oct 2013Bad news, sportscar fans. According to a new report from What Car?, Toyota has cancelled plans to produce a GT86 convertible, a model based on the FT-86 Open Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. In truth, Toyota never actually confirmed it would produce the budget-friendly droptop in the first place, but rumors have been flying since last year and Toyota reportedly showed its embattled Scion dealers a FR-S version of the convertible in August. Presumably, this means that a lidless variant of the Subaru BRZ is not in the cards, either.
The reason for the move is unknown, though What Car? reports "one possible cause is weight; Toyota did say that further work would be required on rigidity before the convertible could be launched, and that could have added extra bulk that conflict with the regular GT86's ethos of light weight and agile handling." It doesn't look like that work will happen anytime soon, as "sources now say that the car has now been delayed indefinitely, with no place in Toyota's product plan in either 2014 or 2015." Still holding out hope? What Car? says the project could be "fast-tracked" if management decides it wants to reboot the program down the road.
