Lexus V6 Powered 1991 Mr2 Fully Restored on 2040-cars

Year:1991 Mileage:86000
Location:

Cleveland, Ohio, United States

Cleveland, Ohio, United States

This is a 1991 Toyota MR2 with a Six Cylinder Engine. Mechanically and visually restored. Mid-Engined, Rear wheel drive.

RELISTED DUE TO THE TYPICAL NON PAYING BIDDER. If you don't leave a phone number, it's likely your bid will be cancelled.

The car has an estimated 150-200 TEST MILES ONLY SINCE BUILD COMPLETION. This car is Light and Fast.

May trade for NICE LOW MILE Foreign SUV.

Runs perfectly and pulls like a freight train.  Handles the Corners like it's on Rails.

Practically everything is new on this Vehicle.

The car started life as a four cylinder, rust free, clear title example. We have done five of these builds and have a website. The MR2 was never offered from the factory with a V6 Engine. This is a common transplant/update for power and performance. The torque of the V6 makes this car easy to drive and very quick. They will be shocked as you stomp on the pedal and pull away from most other cars. Awesome balance and handling that rivals European cars. The UK plate is not included.

This car has a 3.0L V6 Engine from a Lexus ES300 donor vehicle. The engine has 86,000 miles on it and for these engines- this is nothing. They run into the 300's.

The engine was fully serviced while on the stand with NEW: plugs, wires, injectors, water pump, timing belt, fully re-gasketed and detailed engine, all filters, belts & hoses replaced.

The Vehicle has Brand New subtle and tasteful body modifications with a Base / Clear urethane high gloss black paint job. Properly and professionally installed, de badged and painted. New lights everywhere, Blue Halos that have a strobe effect as well as standard bright white. Perfectly aligned Flip up Headlights, tail lights, an upgraded center panel- All New. New Seats, Sound System, Steering wheel and fresh Dark Window Tint, for that "Murdered out" look.

The Car has a one of a kind CLEAR ENGINE COVER modeled after the Ferrari 360 Modena. It's made of 12mm Crystal Clear Lexan. The car will also come with a factory engine cover from a Turbo car. I had one freshly painted at the same time as the car, so the new buyer could hide his giant V6, although I have no idea why you'd want to.

Also one of a kind- There are no others like them in the entire world, the carbon fiber engine cover that came from a Ferrari replica builder in Ireland and the "only one like it" Custom Rear Strut Brace.

The Vehicle has a NEW Custom Clutch assembly capable of holding 600 HP. It's just in case you want to Turbo this car. This clutch will hold it.

All four corners have brand new, 2014 17" ENKEI KOJIN rims, 2014 Federal 595 EVO speed rated tires, drilled and slotted rotors & ceramic low dust disc brakes.

The car has brand new TEIN Lowering springs in the front, The rears are stock, but included with the car are the rear TEIN Lowering springs in case you want to slam it. We like the back end a touch higher, old school guys.

The car has a Brand New Upsized Three Core Radiator, TWO 12" electric fans and a new fan sensor, to keep the car cool. It was 95 here recently and during the test travels- it remained a perfect running temperature.

The car has a custom MAGNAFLOW exhaust system that when you're hard on the throttle, it sounds like no other. Not like the large "fart cans" the kids use- this sounds classy, mean and exotic.

The car has a New PIONEER Touch Screen sound system and it easily accepts any USB device. Four New speakers, not a "booming" sound system, but nice. It has a back up camera also included. A brand new iPod Shuffle is also included with the car, in case you want to leave your tunes in the car. These are fun little touches that we had built into the car.

The complete interior is either replaced, restored or reconditioned. It's a nice place to be. It's clean and modernized.

You could fly here and drive this car back across the country if you wanted to. This is one of five cars we have restored like this and this is the best one yet.

Cash Offers Accepted. Serious buyers only- email me your phone number and I will call you personally. This is one mean little car. May trade for NICE LOW MILE Foreign SUV

Incrementally better than ever | 2017 Toyota 86 First Drive

Tue, Oct 4 2016

We'd love to tell you that the incremental upgrades bestowed upon Toyota's rear-wheel-drive coupe as it made its transition from Scion FR-S to Toyota 86 have transformed it into a perfect sportscar. If only a few more horsepower, shorter rear-end gearing, and tiny aero updates were enough to quell all the complaints that enthusiasts have leveled at the machine since the platform first hit the road in 2012, this review would have been so much more satisfying to write. Sadly, that's not the case. Don't get us wrong. The 86 is still extremely fun to toss around a twisty road. The chassis is impressively balanced, the steering is direct, and the shifter is sweet. Sorry to impart upon you this well-worn trope, but the old adage that it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow is, in this case, completely accurate. The 2017 Toyota 86 is nothing if not entertaining. But it's not completely new. It hasn't been transformed. It is, in the end, the same as it ever was. It will take about three minutes of your time to watch the videos below, in which we cover pretty much everything that's new for the 2017 Toyota 86. Toyota 86s equipped with manual transmissions get a five-pony boost to 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque. Automatic models soldier forth with a carryover 2.0-liter four-cylinder that puts out 200 hp and 151 lb-ft. Apparently, more than half of Scion FR-S buyers chose the automatic. That's unfortunate, as it drains a good deal of the fun out of the 86 experience. Choose the manual and you'll be rewarded with an easy clutch and a rewarding short-throw shifter. And, as we said, five more ponies, courtesy of intake and exhaust tweaks and the polishing of some internal engine components. The only upside to the automatic is improved fuel economy of 24 miles per gallon in the city and 32 on the highway. Manual 86s are EPA-rated at 21/28. Along with the small bump in power, the 2017 86 gets a 4.3:1 rear-end gear ratio in lieu of the old 4.1:1 unit. That ought to translate into a small improvement in acceleration that really only matters on paper. In the real world, on actual roads, the difference is negligible. To eke the most out of the 86, you have to constantly work the shifter and keep the engine north of 5,000 rpm. It's still not particularly quick, but it's definitely fun. There's plenty of noise inside the 86, from the wind, the road, and the engine.

Toyota recalling select 2014 Camry and Avalon models

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Toyota has announced a rather small voluntary recall, affecting 5,650 Avalon and Camry sedans from model year 2014. Both gas and hybrid models are included in the action.
This recall focuses on the left front lower suspension arm, which may have a bad bolt connecting it to the ball joint. If the car hits a big enough pothole - a real concern as we head into winter - or suffers a major impact, the two components could separate, at which point steering control would more or less vanish.
According to Toyota, there have been no crashes, injuries or deaths due to this problem. Toyota is notifying owners, who will need to report to dealers for a free replacement lower suspension arm.

2015 24 Hours of Le Mans live race report

Sat, Jun 13 2015

Check back regularly for more race updates every few hours. No, you don't need to stay up for the entire 24 Hours of Le Mans, but if you want to catch any of the action, Autoblog friend Reilly Brennan has a handy guide. And to keep you up to speed on the latest race events, we'll be posting live from Le Mans with regular race reports.Hour 1: Five laps in, Audi breaks up the three Porsches at the front, with the #19 919 Hybrid, driven by Nico Hulkenburg, passed by all three R18s. Hulkenburg eventually took back fifth position only to fall back again after the first pit stop. Meanwhile, clutch trouble kept the #23 Nissan GTR-LM in the pits until 15 minutes into the race. The other two Nissans were forced to start at the back of the grid after failing to the meet the 110 percent qualifying speed regulation. At the end of the first hour, just 7.5 seconds separated the first six cars. Then the factory team #92 Porsche GTE car caught fire, with the the #13 Rebellion P1 car taking frontal damage in the ensuing carnage. With the safety car out, the field is once again bunched up.Hour 2: The slugfest between Audi and Porsche continues, with neither side backing off. Halfway through the second hour the #7 R18 passes both leading Porsches for the top position. After another round of pits stops Porsche regains the lead until lap 30, when the Audi overtake once again and quickly pulls out a three-second gap. Nico Hulkenburg passes the other two Audis to join his Porsche teammates. At the beginning of the third hour it's Audi #7, Porsche #17, #18, and #19, followed by Audi #8 and #9. 33 seconds separates this group, with Toyota a minute back from the front car.Hour 3: On track the action refuses to stop. Although it's early, Audi is looking strong with the overall lead in the #7. What's more is that the Audis run four stints per set of tires, while the Porsche cars have to change rubber every third stop. But after a quick refueling, the lead R18 gets a tire puncture and comes back in 3 laps later, allowing Porsche to take over the top two spots. Then as the hour closes out a yellow flag causes traffic to bunch up and the #8 Audi gets stuck with nowhere to slow down. Driver Loic Duval dives for the side of the road but hits the guard rail and careens across the track, damaging the front and rear bodywork. The rest of the car is still intact, though, and once in the pits Audi replaces the entire front and rear of that in only three minutes.
