1993 Toyota MR2 PARTS CAR. NO TITLE...sold with Bill of Sale only. Originally a NA car. Previous owner was converting to a Turbo car and lost interest along the way. Previous owner had car running but took engine back apart because the waist gate was sticking and the engine had a miss. That is where he lost interest. I can not vouch for the soundness of the engine because I have not heard it run. Local viewers and/or inspections welcome.
I bought as a parts car specifically for the 2 doors. I spent two months looking all over for two doors for my 1991 MR2 and could only find doors for $500 each on eBay. MR2s are practically non-existant in auto salvage places in my area and the 5 surrounding states. There was no way that I was going to pay that much so I scared up this parts car. Some parts missing as shown in photos. Doors are off the car and NOT INCLUDED. Car not complete but has many pricey parts. The turbo engines I see on eBay list from $1200 to $2400. Please Look/Shop/Compare with all others listed on Craigslist/eBay/Autotrader/Cars,com. etc. Turbo engine is out of a 1991.
This parts car is ideal if you are fixing up a MR2 or have a MR2 turbo with a blown engine. Buy whole parts car and take off what you need and then sell off what you don't need and recoup most of your investment. The goal is to get YOUR needed parts for practically free.
VIN is JT2SW21N9P0020487. I have CarFax printed off that shows a clean history that will go with the car and Bill Of Sale.

Toyota explains what names like Camry and Yaris mean
Mon, 20 Oct 2014Ever wonder where automakers get the names for their cars? You're not alone. The sitcom Seinfeld opened Episode 94 - the one where George Costanza buys a Chrysler LeBaron instead of a Volvo - with a bit about nameplates like Integra, Supra and Impreza. Toyota, clearly, is not exempt from choosing evocative but enigmatic names for its models, and now the Japanese automaker is taking us through the etymology of some of its nameplates.
Names like Supra may require no clarification, but what about Camry? That comes from the Japanese word kanmuri for Crown (which is, incidentally, the name of another Toyota sedan).
Yaris? According to the company, it's "an amalgamation of words from Greek mythology and German. In Greek mythology, 'Charis' was a symbol of beauty and elegance. Toyota swapped the 'Ch' with 'Ya' - German for 'yes' - to symbolize the perceived reaction of European markets to the car's styling."
Toyota celebrates 30th anniversary of Land Cruiser 70 with Japan rerelease [w/videos]
Tue, 26 Aug 2014It's a common refrain among auto enthusiasts to bemoan the current models being sold for being overly complex and expensive and to wish that automakers would just make vehicles like the old days. Sure, they might not have been as safe or efficient, but there was often a certain rugged simplicity that's gone today. Well, Toyota is actually doing it and thinks there's enough demand to put the Land Cruiser 70 back into production in Japan for its 30th anniversary. Sadly, it's only for one year.
The original Land Cruiser 70 served a long life in Japan from 1984 to 2004. Even today, the proven model remains in production in some regions abroad. People in its home country still love the vehicle though, and Toyota is brushing off the mothballs to give customers what they want. For the first time ever there, it's also offering the double-cab pickup version in addition to the traditional enclosed body. The company thinks that it can move about 200 of these classic trucks this year, which isn't too shabby for a vehicle that's three decades old.
Looking at the pictures above, these look like the same old Land Cruisers, but Toyota is updating them slightly to meet modern safety rules. The grille, hood and headlights are all tweaked, and they now come with airbags and anti-lock brakes. A 4.0-liter V6 is under the hood making 228 horsepower (170 kilowatts) and 266 lb-ft of torque (360 Newton-meters), and the only available gearbox is a five-speed manual. Part-time four-wheel drive is standard. If you're really afraid of getting stuck in the wilderness, locking front and rear differentials and a winch are available as options.
Oh Buoy! Toyota sinks to Spongebob depths with custom Highlander
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The launch of the 2014 Toyota Highlander is being assisted by Bikini Bottom's number one resident, SpongeBob SquarePants. The new crossover has been wrapped with SpongeBob's square mug all over it as if he's saying "I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready," from every direction. Inside is a cabin that Toyota says "captures all of the beloved character's high-octane energy," but might make you question whether this is really the world you want to live in.
Revealed on SpongeBob Day at the San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants baseball game in San Diego, CA on July 13, the Highlander will go from there to seven locations nationwide on a "Happy Driving Tour," ending at the LA Auto Show in November.
You can read all about it in the press release below, as well as ways to fill your life with more SpongeBob than is probably healthy.
