Selling my 1992 Toyota MR2 N/A Targa Top (Fully Stock).  This car runs great and has many new parts.  It has all new serpentine and drive belts, new battery (3 year warranty), new tires, new fully synthetic oil change and filter.  The car has 109xxx original miles and is a clean title from arizona.  This car has run great for me and has been used as my daily driver.  The interior is near perfect with no dash cracks.  Just missing door opener cover (plastic) and the driver seat is barely ripped (not enough for me to even consider seat covers).  As for the interior, the car has a custom 6 speaker sound system.  Has a 10 inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofer behind the seat (custom install).  It also has a Memphis amp and 10 disk cd changer behind the passengers seat.  Both of these parts or mounted and secured.  They are not even visible when you get in the car.  Has a panasanic cd deck with Aux cable port for use with ipod or mp3.  Also has a power cable running from the drivers sun visor for a sirius radio unit.  The Exterior of the car is in great condition as it is the original paint, a couple chips and a little fade here and there, but this is one of the best original paint jobs you are gonna find on a MR2.  Has original exhaust.  The only real issues with the car are the passengers window not rolling down, AC needs freon as it works but blowing less cold progressively then before, and needs a harmonic balancer (runs great with the current one, just a recommendation from the mechanic at last check up), and will need a new clutch soon (won't need until months from now though).  Also the e brake is weak and drivers door needs to be adjusted as the car stereo installer put it back about 1 mm off from regular.  This car is a classic and rare to find with this low ORIGINAL mileage and clean title.  Not raced or abused and always serviced on time.  Timing belt not due for another 27,000 miles.  No brakes squeals or weird noises from this car.  Sale will be as is like every other sale on ebay.  Flexible if you need time to come pick up the car, must pay for the car on time though still.

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 4

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

The fourth and final practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is complete. Tomorrow everyone will make any last-minute adjustments and get their cars, their bits and bobs lined up in the pits for Sunday morning's this-time-it-counts run.
The Unlimited runners took on the top section of the course today, Sébastien Loeb and his big-mouth Peugeot acing the practice test again with a time of 2:11. Rhys Millen's team proved its got the engine issues of two days ago in the Hyundai PM580T sorted out, posting the next-best time at 2:27.16. The reason we had to dip all the way into the hundredths for his time is because he nipped Romain Dumas by just .31 of them, the Frenchman in the Norma M20FC PP running the course in 2:27.47. In fourth came the Frenchman in the monster Mini, Jean-Philippe Dayraut six seconds back at 2:33.
Time Attack competitors, also on the upper section, were led by Paul Dallenbach in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a time of 2:36, Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart crossing the line six seconds later at 2:42, fellow Porsche driver David Donner coming in another six seconds back at 2:48. Dallenbach has topped three of the four practice-day sessions, sliding into the second spot behind Donner only on Practice Day 2.

Toyota hangs on to title of world's largest automaker for first half of 2013

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

General Motors and Ford can have all the success they please, but it doesn't seem like America's two largest manufacturers are going to topple Toyota in the first half of 2013. According to Reuters, Toyota moved 4.91 million vehicles in the first six months of 2013, representing a 1.1-percent drop from the same period in 2012.
GM is on the rise, though, with a four-percent increase in global sales, to 4.85 million. Volkswagen, still sitting in third, saw a 5.5-percent jump to 4.7 million vehicles in the first half of 2013.
If this pace continues for Toyota, it'll finish 2013 in the top sales spot for the second year in a row. The manufacturer fell to third, behind GM and VW, in 2011 after earthquakes and tsunamis ravaged its production capacity.

How Charlotte lost to Plano without even knowing it was dealing with Toyota

Thu, 08 May 2014

With Toyota set to relocate its North American headquarters to the Dallas, TX suburb of Plano following a top-secret, 100-city search, the cities that missed out can now begin asking themselves what happened during a process they apparently knew little about.
That's a particularly brutal task for Charlotte, which, according to North Carolina's Secretary of Commerce, Sharon Decker, finished second to Plano. While Toyota has been fairly open about what it was looking for in a new headquarters city - direct flights to Japan, proximity to its US production facilities, a lower cost of living, high-quality educational facilities and finding a neutral site suitable to the California, Kentucky and New York-based employees that would be relocated - it's been less open about how the finalist cities, which also included Atlanta and Denver, stacked up against each other.
The Charlotte Observer has a few ideas. Part of the problem is the distinct lack of direct flights between Charlotte and Asia. US Airways, which operates a hub at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, doesn't fly to Asia.
