Very Original Example Fj-40 Landcruiser on 2040-cars

VERY ORIGINAL
48,337 LOW MILES IN GREAT CONDITION. EVERYTHING IS IN TACT TO MAKE A SHOW TRUCK. I HAVE KEPT THIS TRUCK IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION TO BE AN A+ DRIVER. I purchased this truck 6-7 years ago. The vehicle had been parked in a garage for some time and the previous owner was hoping to complete a body on restoration but ran out of funds. I purchased the truck for the condition of the body and rust free panels and the odometer reading of 45,000 miles at that time. prior to driving i did the following at my local Toyota dealer: * A.R.B. front bumper and Mile Marker winch * N.O.S. wheels, i had them powder coated * 2.5 inch O.M.E. LIFT with new shocks and i removed one leaf from each spring assembly to soften the ride the following are new parts installed prior to driving: radiator, thermostat, fuel pump, hoses, belts, all filters and under the hood hoses. calipers and wheel cylinders, N.O.S. muffler and tail pipe, battery, plugs, wires and all fluids. a set of B.F.G. T..K.O'S were installed and all fluids were replaced: brake, power steering, oil, transmission, transfer case, coolant and both differentials were drained and filled. At this time i drove the vehicle for approximately 200 miles and had the carburetor rebuilt with a Toyota rebuild kit, had the transmission and transfer case pulled and resealed, replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, replaced the slave cylinder and one drive shaft u-joint. all items were done to bring the Land Cruiser to a "drive cross country" condition. over the next year or so, i replaced body screws and hardware with C.C.O.T. stainless and re-covered the rear jump seats. the oil has been changed annually and there has never been cause to add between changes. the vehicle has not had a concern with the use i have given it except for a leaking power steering box that i opted to replace rather than rebuild. the vehicle does not leak or drip and i keep it in my house garage year round. i had a radio and marine grade speaker installed about 3 years ago, using the C.B. port in the center console and the speakers i mounted in the rear corners of the cargo area attaching them to the roll bar (no cutting or drilling was done. the first two years of ownership i did have the top removed in summer months. I found and purchased a set of rust free half doors (used in the FJ's with a lift gate) I had them painted to match and used them when the top was off. they are included in this sale (paid 700.00 for them prior to painting). i also purchased the vinyl half doors and they are included too. anything during ownership that the vehicle has needed it got. i would feel very confident driving just about anywhere. I have never taken this vehicle off road or driven in inclement weather. i have been very careful to maintain it's original condition with the replacement of parts with Toyota products. all gauges, lights and features work just as designed. the wipers park correctly and have all ranges of use, the blower motor works as it should in all positions. I am happy to answer any additional questions and would like to have them listed on the Q&A section on the auction page to give the same information to bidders. My decision to sell is strictly due to a lack of time for use. I have several other interests and am looking to make additional room. the vehicle is in great condition but due to the age i will sell as-is with no warranty. I have candidly and fairly represented the vehicle. I am selling on my personal account (limited activity) but my retail store has hundreds of transactions with 100% buyer rating so bid with confidence and this will be verified with serious bidders. The reserve is realistic and set to sell. Transportation is the responsibility o f the buyer. The winning bidder will be required to make a pay pal deposit of 1,000.00 within 24 hours of auction close and the remaining funds can be cash in person or a cashiers check. All forms of payment will need to clear before i release the vehicle. I would ask that the winning bidder make contact within 48 hours of auction close. thanks and good luck |

Toyota plans biggest stock buyback in over a decade
Tue, 01 Apr 2014At the end of December, 2013 Toyota had a cash stockpile of 1.8 trillion yen ($17.5B US). As of March 31, at the end of its current financial year, company coffers are expected to swallow another 1.9 trillion yen ($18.4B US) in net profit - said to be a record sum for the Japanese automaker. In a gesture signaling a turnaround from the horrors of the global recession, Bloomberg reports that Toyota will buy back 60 million shares of its stock, as much as 1.89 percent of the company, for something like 360 billion yen ($3.5B US). It's the first buyback since 2009 and the largest buyback since 2003, when it spent roughly 390 billion yen ($3.8B US) repurchasing shares.
Company president Akio Toyoda founded the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), a non-profit that will support international groups working on transportation issues in emerging markets. Half of the stock that Toyota buys, 30 million shares, will be sold to the foundation via the Japanese Trustee Services Bank for one yen per share, the dividend providing the foundation's initial funding. The other 30 million shares will be canceled, a company spokesman telling Reuters that the company wants to reward shareholders.
Industry analysts have been asking Toyota to either return money to shareholders or invest in new factories, but Toyota has ruled out the latter. After getting burned with excess capacity when the financial crisis came, the company is focused on extracting efficiencies from the plants it already has. Toyota has said it plans to complete the buyback by June of this year.
Mini Minor to be co-developed with Toyota
Mon, Jan 26 2015It was back in 2011 when Mini first showcased the prospect of an even smaller hatchback with the Rocketman concept at the Geneva Motor Show. In the nearly four years since, parent company BMW has hemmed and hawed on the possibility of putting it into production, but the latest word from Europe has it that the project is a go. According to Automobile magazine, Mini is realigning its product portfolio into five pillars: the essential hardtop we've already seen (available in two/three- and four/five-doors), the convertible, the upcoming new Clubman wagon (coming this summer with full-size auxiliary suicide doors on both sides), the next-gen Countryman crossover in 2016 and two new model lines. One will be the production version of the Superleggera roadster concept, earmarked for 2018. The other will be the Minor, a smaller city car reviving a long-gone model name and presaged by the aforementioned Rocketman concept. But for that last one, Mini won't go it alone. To develop the mini Mini, BMW will reportedly turn to its partnership with Toyota. The relationship is already set to yield a new Supra and Z4 and share fuel cell and other technologies. But this would broaden the partnership to include a small hatchback. However rather than use the existing (or next-gen) Aygo, which is already built under joint venture with PSA Peugeot Citroen (with which BMW previously had a joint engine venture), word has it that the BMW and Toyota will develop a new platform for the project – one that will be used by both partners. The new product plan doesn't leave much room for the Mini Coupe and Roadster (which have already been discontinued), for the Paceman three-door crossover (which will suffer the same fate) or for the projected seven-seater minivan. But the addition of the new Superleggera roadster and super-mini Mini aren't likely to leave us wanting for either. Related Video:
New Toyota semiconductors could increase hybrid fuel efficiency by 10%
Wed, 21 May 2014Toyota may have an ace up its sleeve in the fuel economy wars, as it's developed a new type of semiconductor that will allegedly help the company's hybrids net a ten-percent improvement in fuel economy.
The tech is still in development, although Toyota is already reporting five-percent gains during testing, six years before it plans to implement the new semiconductor in production vehicles, meaning the ten-percent improvement doesn't seem like an untenable goal. That is, until you hear from Kimimori Hamada, the project general manager of Toyota's electronics division.
"We are aiming for great improvement in fuel economy and miniaturization," Hamada told Automotive News. "This is a very challenging target."
