                                   1982 TOYOTA Land Cruiser FJ60

Beautiful 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60, All original! One owner vehicle with only 146,000 original miles! Excellent opportunity for the FJ collector that can appreciate the practical one owner, one of a kind, all original FJ60 and knows the future collectability of this model!

This model has the best of all things Toyota. This '82 Toyota is exceptionally clean and stock as FJ60's go. Four speed manual transmission that shifts like new, Tracks straight and drives like new. She's been well taken care of, always garaged, never been off-roaded. Mostly highway miles. Drives great, with good power  With the original 2F.

Unlike most of the FJ's in the market, this IS truly a rust free Southern California car! In fact, it is one of the cleanest original bodies you will see out there.
She still wears her impressive original Tan Toyota paint with a very glossy finish. Original factory seats in excellent condition and original carpets. Headliner is perfect. The interior is absolutely flawless, it is rare to encounter a vehicle this age with an interior like this, the seats look like the day they came out of the factory! Car runs and drives beautifully. Power steering system is smooth. Tires are serviceable for some time to come. All accessories work, new battery. All brakes great, with recent fluid change. All other fluids changed regularly (including differentials, tranny and transfer case as well as coolant). Includes (original spare tire), new fuel pump.  The original AM/FM radio works good. The original climate control is powerful. Both front and rear heaters work.

Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007

Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.

This first-gen Toyota Celica is one mean mother

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

Brian Karasawa's gen-one Toyota Celica is, in a word, badass. As a long-standing fan of the marque, the doting owner has tried to both restore and improve his Celica keeping period-correct modifications in mind. The 20R/22R mashup engine is outputting roughly 185 horsepower and graced with a lot of JDM-specific parts and modifications. Clearly, the exhaust has been upgraded from stock, as clips of the orange Toyota in motion are accompanied by one hell of a nice sound.
Tastes clearly vary, and there's not as much love for the first-wave of Japanese metal as there is for similar era American-iron, but we're pleased to see these cars finally getting more time in the spotlight. Scroll down below to see why we're stoked, and consider cruising your local Craigslist for late 1970s and early 1980s Japanese coolness (before we get there first).

Audi, Toyota land on MIT's list of 50 Most Disruptive Companies

Sat, 23 Feb 2013

MIT Technology Review, a magazine all about innovation, has announced its list of the 50 most disruptive companies in 2013, and both Audi and Toyota made the cut. While the term "most disruptive" may carry a negative connotation in most uses (especially in the classroom), the acknowledgement in this case is an accolade, signifying that the company is at the forefront of its industry. In a nutshell, a disruptive company is a business whose innovations force other businesses to alter their strategic direction.
Audi made the list for "pushing autonomous cars closer to fruition with a laser-scanning road detector that fits in a vehicle's front grille," and Toyota for "expanding its dominance of the hybrid-car market with its new plug-in version of the Prius." Click on the image above to be taken to the original graphic at MIT Technology Review, where clickable colored squares reveal information about each of the 50 winners, compiled from a variety of industries.
