Beautiful 1977 FJ-40.  Runs Great.  Cranks reliably.  I purchased this car in 2011 and didn't want a major fixer-upper.  It has been great.  It has been garage kept and road driven since that time and I have invested over 7K in further restoration.

Lift Kit.
Toyota F-2 Engine Runs solid
Seatbelts installed
Shifts between 2wd-4wd reliably
Engine inspected and serviced
Horn works
Hi-Low beams work
parking brake works
Windows roll easy with no major chips to glass or windshield.
Electrical wiring inspected and rewired if needed.
Brakelights work
Windshield wipers work
Rust removed from rear wheel panels and panels re-welded and paint matched.
Interior is clean - seats are free of major tears.  Dashboard was cleaned and repainted.  Chrome fixtures restored.
Fiberglass Roof is free of any major cracks and is the original as far as I know.
Rear tire mount locks securely.

Things that could be improved:
1.  Odometer and Speedometer are broken - I do not know the actual mileage.
2.  Liner could be installed to ceiling
3.  Stereo could be installed.
If you are looking for a great FJ-40 then look no further!

I have enjoyed this car immensely but have to sell as I have moved and need garage space.  Happy Bidding!

Toyota announces Geneva plans including droptop FT-86 Open concept

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

Automakers from around the globe are gearing up for the Geneva Motor Show next month, and Toyota is giving us a couple teasers of what will be in its display. In addition to what appears to be a single-seat concept called the i-Road (shown at right), Toyota will also give us our first look at a droptop Scion FR-S courtesy of the FT-86 Open Concept.
All we have to go on right now is this sketch shown above, but we do see that this car will retain its rear seats, which could be a potential advantage over one of its key rivals, the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Toyota says that this concept will be used to gauge public interest in such a convertible, but we've already heard that a Scion convertible is already planned to go on sale as soon as early next year. As far as Toyota's other concept, there also isn't much information about the i-Road except that it will be a zero-emissions vehicle and it will have seating for two passengers, which based on the drawing will have the driver sitting in front of the passenger.
Toyota will also show off the European version of the new RAV4 as well as its new Auris Touring Sports, which it refers to as a "medium-size estate." Scroll down for Toyota's tease of a press release.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Toyota GT86 CS-R3 rally car presages for-sale customer racecar

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

Rallying may enjoy a very strong association with all-wheel drive, but it wasn't so long ago that the World Rally Championship was populated by cars that slipped and slid across gravel and tarmac using rear-wheel drive. One of those was the Toyota Celica. While the little Celica eventually joined the gravel-spewing masses with an all-wheel-drive rally car, Toyota is returning to its rear-drive rally roots with a modified version of the critically acclaimed GT86.
Called the CS-R3, the new model boasts all the necessary changes to turn the diminutive twin of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ into a car capable of tackling the tough, twisting paths that are so routinely conquered by the world's rally cars. That means, of course, the CS-R3 has gotten a power bump.
Expected output sits between 240 and 250 horsepower, thanks to a new racing exhaust and manifold, as well as other changes. The ECU has been replaced with an item a bit more suited to racing, while the compression ratio has also been adjusted to boost the output.
